AIM:To investigate the therapeutic protective effects and function regulations of conventional antidiabetic treatment plus piperazine ferulate tablet on traumatic vascular endothelial cells in type 2 diabetes mellitus.METHODS:80 patients were randomly divided into the treating group(n=37)and the control group(n=43).Conventional antidiabetic treatment plus piperazine ferulate was given to the treating group, and the control group was treated with conventional antidiabetic treatment plus vitamin C every day,and all the patients were treated with 4 weeks. The levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG),glycosylated hemoglobin A1C(Hb A1C),circulating endothelial cell(CEC),serum lipid peroxide(LPO),endothelin(ET)、nitric oxide(NO),tissue-plasminogen activator(t-PA)were determined during the therapeutic period.RESULTS:After 4 weeks of treatment, the levels of serum CEC,LPO and ET were lower in the treating group than those in the control group(P

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of arsenic trioxide(ATO) plus vitamin K2(VK2) on proliferation of HL-60 cells from acute promyelocytic leukemia cell line and explore the possible mechanism. Methods ①HL-60 cells were exposed to ATO(0.0,0.5,1.0,2.0,4.0 μmol/L),VK2(0.0,2.5,5.0,10.0,20.0μmol/L),or both of different concentrations (0.5 μmol/L ATO + 2.5 μmol/L VK2,1.0 μmol/L ATO + 5.0μmol/L VK2,2.0 μmol/L ATO + 10.0 μmol/L VK2,4.0 μmol/L ATO + 20.0 μmol/L VK2) for 24,48 or 72 h,respectively. The method of CCK-8 was used to assess the proliferation of HL-60 cells and the half inhibitory concentration(IC50) of ATO or VK2 was calculated,respectively.②Combination index (CI) was used to evaluate the combinative effect of the two treatments:CI < 1,=1 or > 1 indicated synergistic, additive,or antagonistic effect,respectively.③After HL-60 cells were treated with 1.0 μmol/L ATO or 5.0 μmol/L VK2 individually or simultaneously for 48 h,Annnexin V/PI staining was performed to identify the apoptosis rate of each group.Untreated cells were used as control group. Results ①ATO or VK2 alone inhibited the proliferation of HL-60 cells in a concentration and time dependent manner. The IC50 of ATO or VK2 at time of 24,48,72 h were (22.86 ± 2.44),(6.66 ± 0.34),(4.14 ± 0.41) and (18.40 ± 1.12),(13.48 ± 0.73),(8.95 ± 0.40) μmol/L,respectively; ②The combination of ATO and VK2 illustrated a synergistic effect with CI < 1.③No statistical difference was found among control group [(4.38 ± 0.56)%],1.0 μmol/L ATO group [(5.76 ± 1.63)%] and 5.0 μmol/L VK2 group [(6.38 ± 1.42)%] in the apoptosis rate(all P > 0.05).However,the apoptosis rate of combined group did rise to (44.18 ± 8.42)%,with a significant improvement to that of VK2 or ATO group alone (all P < 0.01).Conclusions The combination of VK2 and ATO exhibits an enhanced synergistical inhibitive effect on proliferation of HL-60 cells, and apoptosis may be involved in this synergy in part.

Objective To evaluate the precision of BREEZE~(TM) glucose monitor and correlation of glucose measurements between fingertip capillary whole blood glucose(CBG)using BREEZE~(TM) glucose monitor and venous plasma glucose(VPG)using autoanalyzer. Methods All samples of venous plasma and fingertip blood from 188 diabetes or non-diabetes patients were detected for glucose level at fasting,30,60 and 120 min postprandial.BREEZE~(TM) glucose monitor and autoanalyzer measured CBG and VPG respectively.Intra-and inter- coefficients of variations were determined using 10 BREEZE~(TM) glucose monitors with normal, slight high and high glucose levels for the three lots of strips. Results The correlation coefficients between CBG and VPG were all higher than 0.950 at fasting and different postprandial time.98.94% of all measurements were in the A zone when using error-grid analysis. The relevant differences between CBG and VPG were less than 5% at different blood glucose concentrations. The intra-and inter-coefficients of variations of blood glucose values at different blood glucose concentrations using different lots of strips were within 5%.Conclusion BREEZE~(TM) glucose monitor provides high accurate and precise glucose readings on fasting and different postprandial time points over a variety of blood glucose concentrations.

Objective To study whether hyperthermia and ionizing radiation could produce combined effects on the neurobehaviors of neonatal rats. Methods These rats who were pregnant for 8 or 9 days received respectively total body irradiation by 60Co-rays .When the rats were pregnant for 10 days, the temperature of rat anus was kept at (37?0.5) ℃,(41?0.5) ℃,(42?0.5) ℃,respectively in warming boxes and lasted for 2,3,4,5 minutes. The neurobehaviors of neonatal rats were observed. Results In contrast to control group and 37 ℃group ,when pregnant rats were exposed to high temperature.the neonate rats were delayed for the appearance of four physiologic markers, the age of acquisition for four reflexes and the time of learning and memory(P
