Objective: High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is classified as the third category medical instruments, which means it require much more attention on its safety to patient. Methods: To achieve this goal, a safety monitor system was applied on “High Intensity Focused Ultrasound therapeutic equipment for Shallow tissue”. To design parallel port-based safety monitor method for high intensity focused ultrasound therapeutic system and make the bidirectional data flow. Results: By using parallel computation of FPGA, the safety monitor independently monitor several modules of the “Ultrasound therapeutic equipment”, and handles mal-function. A new EPP-Parallel port basic intelligent watchdog was introducing to monitor PC working state. Conclusion: The safety monitor system enhances the safety and reliability of the equipment, and provides helpful information for malfunction diagnose.

Objective In order to explore the effectiveness of defluoride project on the control of endemic fluorosis in Yantai economic & technological development area. Methods Nine hundred forty-five children aged 7-12 were selected in 4 endemic fluorosis disease areas (Guxian,Bajiao,Dajijia Streets and Changjiang community) and the control area of Yantai economic & technological development area. Prevalence of children's dental fluorosis was determined by Dean method. Water fluoride content was measured in the 4 endemic fluomsis disease area by means of fluorides ion selective electrode. Results Childr dental fluorosis prevalence rate in Guxian,Bajiao,Dajijia Streets and Changjiang community was respectively 30.1% (55/183),41.2% (73/177),33.7% (66/196),31.8% (64/201),higher than those in the control area [13.3% (25/188)]; the median of water fluoride in the 4 disease areas was 1.84,3.46,2.39,2.10 mg/L,respectively,higher than the National Health on the control of endemic fluorosis is not obvious,Standard (1.00 mg/L). Conclusions Effect of the defluoride project in Yantai economic & technological development area needs to be improved.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of electro-acupuncture of Neiguan (PC 6) on mean systemic arterial blood pressure and plasmic concentrations of NO and TNFalpha in endotoxin shock rats. METHODS: The model of endotoxin shock was induced by lipopolysaccharide (1.5 mg/kg i.v.) and D-galactosamine (100 mg/kg i.p.). Aminoguanidine (100 mg/kg i.p.) and electro-acupuncture of bilateral Neiguan (PC 6) were administered. A catheter was inserted into the right subclavian artery to record the change of blood pressure and the blood was abstracted out and centrifuged to determine the NO and TNFalpha concentrations. RESULTS: Electro-acupuncture of Neiguan (PC 6) retrieved the blood pressure and reduced the plasmic NO and TNFalpha concentrations. CONCLUSION: Electro-acupuncture of Neiguan (PC 6) expresses an anti-endotoxin shock effect by repressing the plasmic NO and TNFalpha concentrations smoothly and retrieving the blood pressure stably.

Objective To study the distribution of IL-10 and TNF gene polymorphisms in patients with gastroduodenal diseases in Hubei Han ethnic and their association with Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection. Methods Six hundred and five patients with gastroduedenal diseases (196 chronic gastritis, 189 gastroduodenal ulcer and 220 gastric cancer) as well as 624 healthy controls were genotyped with PCR-RFLP method for IL-10-1082,-819,-592 and TNFα-308, lymphotoxin-α (LTα) Nco Ⅰ and AspH Ⅰ gene polymorphisms. Hp infection status was determined with ELLS& Results (1) There was significant difference of IL-10-1082 AG + GG genotype among the gastric cancer group with the non-malignant gastric diseases groups and healthy control group (P <0. 05). There was no significant difference of IL-10-592 and -819 gene polymorphisms among gastric cancer patients,non-malignant gastric disease patients and healthy controls (P>0. 05). The genotype frequencies of IL-10-819 were the same as those of IL-10-592. (2) Frequency of IL-10-1082 AG + GG genotype in gastric cancer patients with positive Hp was significantly higher than that in the other three groups (P < 0. 05). (3) Frequency of LTα Nco I AG genotype in gastric cancer patients with Hp infection was signiilcandy higher than that in Hp positive healthy controls (P < 0. 05). There were no other associations between TNFα-308, LTα Nco Ⅰ and AspH Ⅰ gene polymorphisms and Hp infection in gastroduodenal diseases. Conclusions (1) Allele AG + GG of IL-10-1082 was associated with gastric cancer in Han nationality of Hubei province. (2) IL-10-1082 AG + GG,LTct Nco ⅠAG heterozygous genotype may be associated with Hp infection in patients with gastric cancer in Han nationality of Hubei province.

Targeting the key questions in the scale development process of TCM syndrome, such as the definition of the concept, the construction of the theoretical framework, the quantitative classification of the items, the rational use of the statistical methods and so on, this article put forward that on the basis of carefully distinguishing the three concepts of syndrome diagnosis, syndrome evaluation and disease diagnosis, and based on TCM dialectical thinking and mathematical validation to build theoretical framework. A scientific and reasonable quantitative classification method was established based on the reliability and validity as indexes. Non-linear intelligent mathematical statistics and symptomatic index groups were used to analyze the ideas and methods of data mining, with a purpose to improve and perfect the methodology of the development of syndromes scale and to improve the establishment and application of the syndrome scale.

Objective To study the prevalence of thyroid diseases in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients and to analyze the prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) with lupus nephritis (LN).Methods A total of 813 hospitalized SLE patients were retrospectively analyzed.The demographic,clinical and biochemical data were collected.The prevalence of different thyroid diseases was calculated.Among all patients,83 patients with SCH and 562 patients without any thyroid diseases were recruited according to thyroid hormone,thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and anti-thyroid antibodies levels.Case control study was performed to explore the potential risk factors for SCH in SLE.T test,Mann-Whitney U test,x2 test and Logistic regression analysis were used for statistical analysis.Results Among the 813 patients,13 (1.6％) had clinical hypothyroidism,83(10.2％) had SCH,13 (1.6％) had central hypothyroidism,27(3.3％) had autoimmunethyroid disease (AITD),10 (1.2％) had hyperthyroidism,95 (11.7％) had euthyroid sick syndrome (ESS) and 11 (1.4％) had nodules.SCH was more frequent in patients with LN (13.7％,50/366) than those without LN [7.4％(33/447),x2=8.654,P＜0.01].Meanwhile,prevalence of LN was also significantly higher in SCH group in case control study [60.2％(50/83) vs 42.9％(241/562),x2=8.800,P＜0.01].Besides,SLE patients with SCH had more severe proteinuria,hypoalbuminemia,and hyperlipidemia,which were complications of LN.In addition,the SCH group presented significantly higher anti-dsDNA antibody positive rate [50.6％(42/83) vs 33.7％(212/562),x2=5.026,P＜0.01].In Logistic regression models,24-hour urine protein and serum creatinine was retained as independent correlated factors with SCH after adjusted for demographic variables,risk factors,and other potential confounders.The presence of SCH was associated with increased 24-hour urine protein levels,occurring in 10.4％ of subjects with 24-hour urine protein ≤ 150 mg,11.9％ with 24-hour urine protein 150.1-1 500 mg,17.2％ with 24-hour urine protein 1 500.1-3 500 mg,and d24.4％ with 24-hour urine protein ＞3 500 mg (P＜0.05 for trend).In addition,when eGFR ≥30 ml·min-1· 1.73 m-2,the prevalence of SCH was increased as eGFR decreased:occurring in 12.8％ with eGFR ≥90 ml·min-1· 1.73 m-2,12.6％ with eGFR 60-89.9 ml·min-1· 1.73 m-2 and 20.0％ with eGFR 30-59.9 ml ·min-1· 1.73 m-2.Conclusion Thyroid diseases are common in SLE patients,and SCH is closely related with LN and disease activity.

Objective To explore the effects of exercise training(ET)on the functional recovery of nerves (NFR)in rats with intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH).Methods Ninety Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into an ET group,a control group and a sham operation group(SO group).An ICH model was established with colla- genase in the ET and control groups,while sodium chloride was used with the SO group.The ET group exercised for 40 min a day from 24 h to 30 d after the operation.Attitudinal reflexes,balance function and muscle strength were assessed at 24 h,3 d,7 d,14 d,21 d and 28 d after the operation.Results Compared with the control group, NFR values were increased significantly in the ET group,and there was no obvious dysfunction in the SO group. Conclusion Early ET can contribute to functional recovery after ICH.

Mitochondrial dysfunction has been implicated in the aetiology of sporadic Parkinson's disease but its role in the disease mechanism remains unclear.To investigate the effect of synuclein on mitochondrial dysfunction induced by rotenone.The human dopaminergic SH-SY5Y cells were used as a cell model.The cells over-expressed the wild-type ?-synuclein were treated with complex I inhibitor rotenone.The cell viability,complex I activity,Mitochondrial swelling and O2-content were tested at different time point-1w,2w,4w after rotenone treated.CCK-8 test results showed that the cell viability of overexpressed ?-synuclein(SH-SY5Y-Syn)was much lower than the control group(SH-SY5Y-Ctr).After administrating with rotenone about 1w or 2w the cell viability of SH-SY5Y-Syn became higher than that of SH-SY5Y-Ctr.On the 4th week the results were contrary to the first 2 weeks.Similar results were got when test the mitochondrial function.In the first 2 weeks after roteoone administrating,the mitochondrial function of SH-SY5Y-Syn was better than that of SH-SY5Y-Ctr.This suggest that the ?-synuclein could protect the mitochondrial against the injury induced by rotenone in the early stage-1w,2w,while this effect disappeared in the final stage-4w.

Objective:To identify the effect of ?-synuclein overexpression on mitochondrial membrane structure with atomic force microscopy. Methods:?-syn expression was mediated by AAV (adeno-associated viral vector) and Recombinant AAV/?-syn and AAV/LacZ viral particles were stereotaxically injected in the left side of rat substantia nigra (SN) for rat model of ?-synuclein overexpression. Mitochondria were isolated from rats SN of Brain. Mitochondria were analysis with JC-1 staining,atomic force microscopy and Western blot. Results:By 16 weeks post-infection of AAV-?-syn,the level of ?-syn increased about 2 times in mitochondrial fraction with Western blot and mitochondrial membrane potential (??) decreased with JC-1 staining. Furthermore,mitochondria swelling and porous like structure formed on the mitochondrial membrane with atomic force microscopy. Conclusion:The data suggested that ?-syn could accumulate in mitochondria,might form mitochondrial membrane pores and lead to ?? decreases. ?-syn might lead to mitochondrial dysfunction in Parkinson's disease.
