Objective To establish the method for detemining the content of ephedrine hydrochloride in Zhike Pingchuan Tangjiang by HPLC. Methods Diamonsil ODS1 C_(18) Column was used with acetonitrile -0.1% phosphoric solution (with 0.1% triehylamine) (3 : 97) as the mobile phase, the detection wavelength as 205 nm, and flow rate was 1.0 mL/min. Results The calibration curve was linear at the range of 0.12~ 0.96 ?g for ephedrine hydrochloride and linear equation was Y= 109759X+3792.8, r=0.9998. The average recovery was 98.4% and RSD was 0.87% (n =5). Conclusion This method was simple, accurate and proper, with good reproducibility. It can be used for quantitative analysis of ephedrine hydrochloride in Zhike Pingchuan Tangjiang.

From September of 2006,Department of Pathophysiology opened laboratory to the undergraduates of 2004 grade.Stu- dents chose titles and designed experiments by themselves, and after expert teachers' assessment, they put them into practice. Functional Laboratory of the college is in charge of the oprtation and administration of it.Through this semester's practice and exploration,we got satisfactory effect and great welcome from students.

To investigate the effect of Cornu Cervi Oral Liquid (mainly composed of Cornu Cervi, Fructus Psoraleae, Herba Epimedii, Fructus Corni, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi and Lignum Aquilariae Resinatum) in reversing myocardial fibrosis in rats with congestive heart failure caused by pressure overload and to explore its mechanism. Thirty six male Wistar rats were randomly allocated to mimic operation group (Group A), model group (Group B) and Cornu Cervi Oral Liquid group (Group C). Rat models of congestive heart failure were induced by constriction of abdominal aorta. Left ventricular mass index(LVMI) was observed; contents of collagen type Ⅰ and Ⅲ in left ventricular cardiac muscle were detected by immunohistochemical method and their mRNA expression by RT PCR; and plasma levels of angiotensin Ⅱ (AngⅡ), atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) and serum aldosterone (ALD) level were measured by radioimmunoassay method. LVMI, contents of collagen type Ⅰ and Ⅲ and their mRNA expression, levels of plasma and myocardial AngⅡ, plasma ANF and serum ALD were higher in Group B than those in Group A (P0 05).[Conclusion]Cornu Cervi Oral Liquid is effective in reversing myocardial fibrosis in rats with congestive heart failure caused by pressure overload and its mechanism may be related to the decrease of contents of collagen type Ⅰ and Ⅲ and their mRNA expression, levels of plasma and myocardial AngⅡ, plasma ANF and serum ALD.

Objective: To explore the mechanism of high incidence of cardiovascular diseases and the levels of plasma lipids and oxidized lowdensity lipoprotein(Ox-LDL) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods: Fifty-five patients with RA(24 case of active type,31 non-active) and 60 healthy controls were randomly chosen.Plasma lipids and Ox-LDL levels were studied. All the data were subjected to statistical analysis. Results: Compared with the control, total cholesterol(TC),LDL cholesterol(LDL-C) and apolipoprotein B(apoB) levels were increased in patients with active RA,while TC,triglyceride(TG),LDL-C,apoAⅠ,B and Ox-LDL levels were elevated in those with non-active RA.Furthermore, plasma lipids and Ox-LDL level decreased in the active patients as compared with the non-active ones, while only the change of apoAⅠhad statistical significance. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate was found negatively related with TC,LDL-C,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) and apoAⅠ,while C-reacting protein was found negatively related with LDL-C and HDL-C.Conclusion: Ox-LDL and plasma lipid levels were changed in RA patients.Inflammation may induce changes of lipoprotein and play an important role in atherosclerosis.

Objective To investigate the nursing of cancerous aching in patients during whole body hyperthermia. Methods Seventy patients with malignant tumors were carefully concerned before and after receiving whole body hyperthermia and their responses were recorded. Results The remission rate of aching was 88.55%, and the common side effects were burning of skin, bedsore, and nausea or vomiting. Conclusion The whole body hyperthermia therapy can relieve the cancerous pain, and good nursing can improve the efficacy.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence of three kinds of antimicrobial-resistant genes in Enterobacter cloacae. METHODS Antimicrobial susceptibility test was performed by microdiluted method and antimicrobial - resistant genes were detected by PCR methods in 20 clinical strains of E. cloacae. RESULTS Twenty strains of E. cloacae showed multiple-drug resistance.Among 20 strains, the positive rates of ACT-1, DHA and TEM genes were 70.0%, 45.0% and 55.0%, respectively. The positive rates of aac(6′) -Ⅰ , ant(3″)-Ⅰ, ant(2″)-Ⅰ, aac(6′)-Ⅱ, and aac(3)-Ⅱgenes were 50.0%, 15.0%, 10.0%, 5.0% and 5.0%, respectively . The positive rates of sul Ⅰand dfrA1 genes were 50.0%, and 5.0%, respectively. But other genes were not found. CONCLUSIONS This study shows that there are multiple-drug resistance and high positive rate of three kinds of antimicrobial- resistant genes in E. cloacae isolated from our hospital.

This article discusses the status quo of the researches on neuropsychiatric lupus, including its pathophysiological mechanism, clinical manifestation, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.Cerebrospinal fluid examination, electroencephalography and brain imaging could improve the sensitivity of the diagnosis of neuropsychiatric lupus.Aggressive immunosuppressive agents,high-dose corticosteroids and anticoagulants remain the key to the therapy. However, future researches should focus on the control of long-term relapse and the improvement of the quality of life.

Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1989;0(05):-
AIM: To investigate the effects of leptin (LEP) on the alveolar type Ⅱ cells(AECⅡ) apoptosis induced by Na2S2O4 and explore the molecular mechanisms. METHODS: Primary AECⅡ culture was prepared according to a specific immunosorption procedure with slight modification and the cells were identified by transmission electron microscope and immunocytochemistry. AECⅡ damage was induced by 5 mmol/L Na2S2O4. LEP group cells were treated with LEP at concentrations from 100 ?g/L to 1 600 ?g/L. The cell survival rate was evaluated by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assays. Cell cycle and apoptosis were analyzed by flow cytometry and the level of caspase-3 was measured by Western blotting. RESULTS: Highly purified AECⅡ, obtained by the method of modified immunosorption, were identified with the positive expression of SP-A and intracellular lamellarbodies were found under electron micrography. The cells, exposed to 5 mmol/L Na2S2O4, showed characteristic changes of apoptosis and activation of caspase 3. These damages were relieved by the treatment of LEP (100-1 600 ?g/L), with survival increasing, apoptosis peak decreasing, cell morphology restoring and caspase 3 activation inhibiting.CONCLUSION: Leptin prevents AECⅡ from apoptosis induced by Na2S2O4 or hypoxia. The potential mechanism of its action may be related to promoting cell cycle from G1 phase to S phase and inhibiting the activating of caspase 3.
