China Pharmacy 2015;(22):3134-3136,3137
OBJECTIVE:To optimize the matrix formulation and preparation technological parameters of Compound Bingjia Cream. METHODS:To prepare water phase and oil phase matrix solutions respectively, and then the former was added into the lat-ter and well mixed together. The matrix formulation was optimized with the overall scores of appearance, high temperature, low temperature and oil and water stratification after centrifugal test as the evaluated indexes. High performance liquid chromatography was used to determine the content of metronidazole. Gas chromatography was adopted to determine the content of borneol. With the matrix temperature at the time of adding the main drug mixture, matrix quantity, emulsification method and emulsification time as observed factors, and the overall scores of metronidazole content, borneol content and the overall scores of preparation(the overall scores of appearance and stability tests) as the observed indexes,L9(34) orthogonal test was designed to optimize the preparation technological parameters of Compound Bingjia cream and verification for technology was conducted. RESULTS:The optimal oil phase matrix formulation was as follows as cetanol of 10 g,glyceryl monostearate of 16 g,stearic acid of 20 g,albolene of 8 g, while the optimal water oil matrix formulation as triethanolamine of 2 g,glycerinum of 24 g. The optimal preparation technological parameters were the matrix temperature of 50℃at the time of adding the main drug mixture, matrix of 300 g,emulsification meth-od of colloid emulsification, emulsification time of 30 min, where metronidazole content was 1.83%,borneol content 2.88%. The results of 3 verification tests showed the overall scores were all 25,with metronidazole content of 2.1%,2.1%,2.2%(RSD=2.71%,n=3),borneol content of 3.2%,3.3%,3.1%(RSD=3.12%,n=3). CONCLUSIONS:The optimal matrix formulation and technological parameters of the preparation are stable and feasible, and suitable for mass production.

Objective To explore the influence of age factor on the treatment of cutaneous hemangioma with (90Sr-90Y) applicator. Methods A total of 224 babies and children of different ages with cutaneous hemangioma were treated by using 90Sr-90 Y applicator. Then, the relation between their therapeutic effects and ages were analyzed respectively. Results The differences in the therapeutic effect between group of one month to less than one year and group of one to less than five years, and group of one month to less than one year and group of five to ten years, and between group of one to less than five ages and group of five to ten years (P<0.05),were statistically significant. With an increase of the age,the recovery rate gradually decreased, but their effective rate, improvement rate and ineffective rate increased. In the 199 well-healed or effective patients, the differences in the distribution of treatment course between group of one month to less than one year and group of one to less than five years, and group of one month to less than one year and group of five to ten years, were statistically significant (P<0.05); but the difference in the distribution of treatment course between group of one to less than five ages and group of five to ten years was not statistically significant (P>0.05).The number of treatment course presented an increased tendency with an increase of the age for patients. Conclusions The age of patients is a factor influencing the therapeutic effect on cutaneous hemangioma with 90 Sr-90Y applicator. The younger the patients, the better their therapeutic effects, the shorter their courses of treatment, and the smaller the adverse reaction of beta ray.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(10):-
Objective: To explore the mechanism of high incidence of cardiovascular diseases and the levels of plasma lipids and oxidized lowdensity lipoprotein(Ox-LDL) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods: Fifty-five patients with RA(24 case of active type,31 non-active) and 60 healthy controls were randomly chosen.Plasma lipids and Ox-LDL levels were studied. All the data were subjected to statistical analysis. Results: Compared with the control, total cholesterol(TC),LDL cholesterol(LDL-C) and apolipoprotein B(apoB) levels were increased in patients with active RA,while TC,triglyceride(TG),LDL-C,apoAⅠ,B and Ox-LDL levels were elevated in those with non-active RA.Furthermore, plasma lipids and Ox-LDL level decreased in the active patients as compared with the non-active ones, while only the change of apoAⅠhad statistical significance. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate was found negatively related with TC,LDL-C,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) and apoAⅠ,while C-reacting protein was found negatively related with LDL-C and HDL-C.Conclusion: Ox-LDL and plasma lipid levels were changed in RA patients.Inflammation may induce changes of lipoprotein and play an important role in atherosclerosis.

OBJECTIVE:To study the impact of ethanol volume fraction on the extract rate of ginsenoside monomer. METH-ODS:Water and different volume fraction of ethanol solution(20%,50%,70%,95%,V/V)were used for ginseng extract. High performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time of flight-mass spectrometry (Q-TOF LC/MS) was applied to identify compo-nents attributable of each peak. Especially 16 kinds of main saponins were analyzed. RESULTS:The volume fraction of ethanol had a significant impact on extract rate of ginsenoside. When the volume fraction of ethanol was 70%,extract rate of ginsenoside was the highest;however, the differences were mainly caused by protopanaxatriol saponins. The yield of protopanaxadiol ginsen-osides was similar in different volume fraction of ethanol solution. CONCLUSIONS:When the volume fraction of ethanol is differ-ent,result is not only different in the total saponin, but also different in the proportion of the monomers.

The Malaysian journal of pathology 2002;24(1):15-21
In late 1998, a novel paramyxovirus named Nipah virus, emerged in Malaysia, causing fatal disease in domestic pigs and humans with substantial economic loss to the local pig industry. Pteropid fruitbats have since been identified as a natural reservoir host. Over the last two decades, the forest habitat of these bats in Southeast Asia has been substantially reduced by deforestation for pulpwood and industrial plantation. In 1997/1998, slash-and-burn deforestation resulted in the formation of a severe haze that blanketed much of Southeast Asia in the months directly preceding the Nipah virus disease outbreak. This was exacerbated by a drought driven by the severe 1997-1998 El Ni?o Southern Oscillation (ENSO) event. We present data suggesting that this series of events led to a reduction in the availability of flowering and fruiting forest trees for foraging by fruitbats and culminated in unprecedented encroachment of fruitbats into cultivated fruit orchards in 1997/1998. These anthropogenic events, coupled with the location of piggeries in orchards and the design of pigsties allowed transmission of a novel paramyxovirus from its reservoir host to the domestic pig and ultimately to the human population.
