Objective:To detect the levels of TGF-β1 in hypertensive renal function impairment patients and its clinical value. Methods: Primary hypertension patients with no target organs damage were enrolled in control group, primary hypertension patients with renal function stageⅠand stageⅡwere enrolled in renal function stageⅠgroup and stageⅡgroup. Serum TGF-β1 levels and renal function indices of three groups were compared. Results:There were no significant difference of serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen of three groups(F=23.523, P<0.05);endogenous creatinine clearance rate of renal functionⅠandⅡgroups were lower than that of control group, TGF-β1 levels of renal functionⅠandⅡ groups were higher than of control group; TGF-β1 levels were negatively correlated with creatinine clearance rate. Conclusion:TGF-β1 level is an ideal index to reflect renal function for its level significantly changes in renal damage stageⅠ,Ⅱand has good correlation with Cin.

Background Zero spherical aberration intraocular lenses(IOL)is designed to prevent the addition of positive spherical aberration after surgery.Research indicated that some positive spherical aberration can provide better depth distance of focus and pseudoaccommodation.Objective The present study was to compare the visual function and wavefront aberrations in pseudophakic eyes with zero spherical aberration IOL and spherical IOL.Methods A prespective case-controlled study was designed.Eighty eyes of 52 patients with age-related cataract were enrolled and divided into two matched groups based on random number table method.The regular phacoemulsification was performed on the eyes,and a zero spherical aberration IOL(Akreos AO)was implanted in the test group and a spherical IOL was used in the control group(Akreos Adapt IOL).The corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA),contrast sensitivity,depth of focus and wavefront aberrations were recorded and compared at 3 months after cataract surgery between these two groups.The trail was approved by the Ethic Committee of Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College,and written informed consent was obtained from each patient prior to the program.Results The clinical demography from the two groups was matched(P ＞ 0.05).There were no significant difference in the CDVA (LogM AR)(-0.03 ±0.08 versus-0.02+0.10)(t =-0.50,P =0.61)and in depth of focus(3.48± 1.07 DS versus 3.20±0.77 DS)(t =1.15,P=0.25)between the zero spherical aberration IOL group and the spherical IOL group.The contrast sensitivities under the mesopic condition at 12.0 c/d and mesopic with glare at 3.0,6.0,18.0 c/d were 12.42 ± 13.16,42.58 ±24.96,30.19± 25.64 and 3.03 ± 5.49 in the zero spherical aberration IOL group,and those in the spherical IOL group were 5.59 ± 8.11,28.74 ± 18.69,17.07 ± 19.35 and 0.22 ± 1.15 without significant differences between these two groups(P＜0.05).Under the 5.0 mm pupil analyzing zone,the spherical aberration in zero spherical aberration IOL group was(0.13 ±0.07)μm,showing a significant reduction in comparison with spherical IOL group(0.21 + 0.07 μm)(P ＜ 0.05).No evidently differences were found in total high-order aberration,coma aberration and trefoil aberration(P＞0.05),but the sphere aberration was considerably lower in the zero spherical aberration IOL group compared with spherical IOL group(t=-4.19,P＝0.00).Conclusions The visual quality of the eyes implanted zero spherical aberration IOL is significantly better than ones implanted with spherical IOL.

Objective To analyze the utility of MRI with multiple contrast and dynamic contrast weightings enhancement(DCE) in evaluation of vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques. Methods Forty male New Zealand white rabbits were fed with hypercholesterolemic diet,and right iliac arteries including the common and external iliac arteries were examined by multiple contrast and DCE MRI at intervals 6 to 20 weeks after balloon denudation.For multiple contrast weightings scanning,T1-,T1-/T2WI with fat suppression,proton density weighted and double invention recovery were used.Meanwhile,post DCE T1-with fat suppression images were obtained in 1,5,15 and 25 min after a bolus injection of Gd-DTPA contrast agent.Then a comparative analysis of plaque morphology and components to images was performed. Results There were 34(42.5%) vulnerable plaques and 46(57.5%) stable plaques amomg the 80 atherosclerotic lesions located at the right common or external iliac arteries.The accuracy,sensitivity and specificity of MRI with multiple contrast weightings and DCE for the detection of vulnerable plaques were 87.5%,94.1% and 82.6%,respectively,significantly higher than those only with multiple contrast weightings,which were 73.8%,82.3% and 67.4%,respectively(P

Objective • To investigate diagnostic value of anti-phosphatidylserine/prothrombin antibody (aPS/PT), IgA anti-cardiolipin antibody (aCL), and IgA anti-β2-glycoprotein antibody (aβ2-GPI) in seronegative antiphospholipid (SNAPS). Methods • Serum samples were collected from 86 patients with antiphospholipid (APS) (APS group), 48 patients with SNAPS (SNAPS group), 79 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) (SLE group), and 85 healthy donors (healthy control group, HC group) for aPS/PT (IgG and IgM), aCL (IgA) and aβ2-GPI (IgA) detected by ELISA. The sensitivity and specificity of the four antibodies for the diagnosis of SNAPS were calculated, and the ROC curves were analyzed. The correlation between the four antibodies and the clinical manifestations of SNAPS was also analyzed.Results • A total of 25 (52.1%) SNAPS patients were positive in aPS/PT (IgG/IgM), including 29.2% patients positive in aPS/PT (IgG) and 35.4% positive in aPS/PT (IgM). There were 16.7% SNAPS patients positive in aβ2-GPI (IgA), but none was aCL (IgA) positive. The positive rates of aPS/PT (IgG and IgM) and aβ2-GPI (IgA) were statistically higher in SNAPS group than those in HC group (P=0.000). The area under curve (AUC) of aPS/PT (IgG) (AUC=0.753) for SNAPS diagnosis was the biggest among the four antibodies, and the second was aβ2-GPI (IgA) (AUC=0.725). A positive correlation was found in SNAPS group between presence of venous thrombosis and aPS/PT (IgG) (OR=5.54, 95% CI 1.67-17.33, P=0.003) or aβ2-GPI (IgA) (OR=3.43, 95% CI 0.86-11.53, P=0.041), and also found between pregnancy loss and aPS/PT (IgM) (OR=5.11, 95% CI 1.31-21.29, P=0.004). Conclusion • aPS/PT (IgG/IgM) and aβ2-GPI (IgA) can be used as potential complementary indicators for laboratory diagnosis of SNAPS, and aPS/PT (IgG/IgM) is also valuable for clinical evaluation of the risk of thrombosis and pregnancy loss in SNAPS patients.

Objective To investigate the clinical features,the radiological characteristics,and the pathological changes of cerebral sparganosis.Methods We retrospectively collectted and summarized the clinical data of 42 patients with cerebral sparganosis from the Iinstitute of Anti-parasitic Diseases of Jiangxi Province and the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University during January 2000 to January 2014.The follow-up period of the 42 patients ranged from 4 to 96 months.Results Forty-two cases (30 males and 12 females) with cerebral sparganosis were enrolled in the study.Among the 42 patients,34 cases suffered from seizures,16 cases experienced headaches,and 14 cases had limb weakness.The brain CT scan showed the small and punctuate calcifications scattering around the lesions in 18 cases.The features of enhanced MRI included aggregating ring-like enhancement in 38 cases,tunnel lesions in 14 cases,and lesion migration in 13 cases.Twenty-four of the 42 patients were performed surgery.The brain tissues revealed multiple inflammatory tunnels,in which live or degenerated larvae were identified in 20 cases,but only eosinophilia tunnels were observed in the other 4 cases.The serum and cerebro-spiral fluid specimens from 18 patients without surgery were positive to spirometra mansoni antigen.Their cerebral lesions disappeared and got a favorable prognosis after administration of praziquantel in long term follow-ups.Conclusions There is a high incidence of cerebral sparganosis in Poyang lake basin.The clinical features of cerebral sparganosis mainly include seizure,headache and hemiparesis.The enhanced lesions show knot or tunnel signs on multi-planar MRI which are associated with the multiple inflammatory tunnels of larvae migration.A longterm administration of high dose opraziquantel can also get a good treatment prognosis without the classical surgical therapy for cerebral sparganosis.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characteristic of neurons reducing, senile plaques, neurofibrillary tangles and so on, and the most common cause of dementia among the elderly. Many efforts have been made to understand the epigenetic mechanisms involved in the development of AD, such as gene methylation and histone acetylation, although the exact mechanisms are not yet entirely clear. Here, we provide a review of the epigenetic mechanisms and related research in AD, which may provide a new direction for the research as well as the development of the epigenetic drugs.

Objective To explore the curative effect of adding Oryz-Aspergillus and Pancreatin tablet into fluid for senile patients adopt routine nasogastric feeding. Methods Eighty senile patients adopted nasogastric feeding were randomly divided into two groups, the routine nasogastric feeding group (the control group) and the Oryz-Aspergillus and Pancreatin group (the experiment group). The incidences of jamming of gastric tube, aspiration, gastric retention, abdominal distention and diarrhea were observed. Results The incidence rates of jamming of gastric tube, gastric retention, abdominal distention and diarrhea in the experiment group were lower than those of the control group (P < 0. 05), but there was no distinct difference in aspiration (P > 0. 05). Conclusions Adding Oryz-Aspergillus and Pancreatin into fluid can reduce the incidences of nasogastric tube jamming, gastric retention, abdominal distention for senile patients with perennial nasngastric feeding, thereby lightening the suffering resulted by repeatedly indwelling nasogastric tube and abdominal distention. So it is worthy of being popularized.

Objective To study the strategy of psychological care when victims’transshipment after the earthquake in Sichuan province.Methods 52 victims who were transferred by our medical team were divided into four groups by age.Each group received the pertinent psychological care.Then the effects were observed.Results After the effective sychological care,52 patients’psychological status turned for the better when arrived at The base hospitals.and they were full of confidence for rehabilitation.Conclusions Effective and timely psychological care can make victims relax,reduce stress and decrease the complications during transshipment.
