Objective To study the relationship of peripheral vascular disease(PVD) with gender and serum uric acid in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods Lower extremities of 82 male and 70 female patients with type 2 diabetes were screened for PVD by color Doppler uhrasonography,and the levels of serum uric acid,fasting blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin and serum lipid were examined.Results In male,serum uric acid(328.12?107.30) ?mol/L,age(65.00?9.66) yrs,durations of diabetes(7.38?6.17) yrs, HBA_1Cc(7.74?1.83)% were significantly higher in the diabetic patients with PVD than those in patients without PVD.And these changes were not shown in female patients.In male,the detectable rate of PVD(82.14%)in diabetics with high level uric acid was also increased than that in normal uric acid group(53.70%).Conclusion The higher level of serum uric acid in type 2 diabetics was closely related with the occurrence of peripheral vascular disease in male.So we should actively control the level of serum uric acid in male.

Analysis was made in 3 patients with central nervous system lymphoma(CNSL) with different manifestations;neuroradiological and immunocytological investigations were used to improve the clinical diagnosis of CNSL.Three patients with CNSL presented with 3 distinct profiles:diffuse meningeal invasion, intracranial masses of tumor and intramedullary spinal invasion. Both contrast enhanced CT and MR provided CNSL lesions in the brain parenchyma and meninges. It is suggested that combining CT,MR findings and immunological markers can improve clinical diagnosis of CNSL.

Objective To discuss the clinical effect of behavioral therapy combined with pramipexole in patients’ degree of depression and non-motor symptoms in early-onset Parkinson’s disease and depression.Methods A total of 74 cases of patients with early-onset Parkinson’s disease and depression were equally divided into observation group and control group, 37 cases in each groups.Patients in control group were given pramipexole, while patients in observation group were given pramipexole and behavioral therapy.The hamilton depression ( HAMD) scale, Zung self-rating depression scale and unified Parkinson’s disease rating scale ( UPDRS ) were used to evaluate and measure the change of degree of depression and non-motor symptoms.Results Before treatment, the HAMD score, Zung score, UPDRS II score and UPDRS III score between two groups had no statistical difference; after treatment, the HAMD score, Zung score, UPDRS II score and UPDRS III score in two groups were significantly decreased (P<0.05). The HAMD score, and Zung score between two groups had no statistical difference at the end of 4th weekends, and compared with control group, those scores in observation group were much better at the end of 8th and 12th weekend (P<0.05).The UPDRS II and UPDRS III between two group had no statistical difference at the end of 4-8th week, while those scores in observation group were better than those in control group at the end of 12th week(P<0.05).Conclusion Behavioral therapy combined with pramipexole has a great effect on the improvement of patients’ degree of depression and non-motor symptoms, which has a positive promotion on patients’ life quality.

Objective:To investigate the relationship between electrophysiology and pathology changes in diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) rats and to assess the value of electrophysiology in diagnosis of DPN. Methods: Twenty-four healthy male SD rats were intraperitoneally injected with a single dose of streptozotocin to induce DPN models and the rats were subsequently divided into 3 groups, namely, the DPN model group, the low dose Tong-Luo composite recipe (TLCR) group, and the high dose TLCR group. Rats in the latter 2 groups were lavaged with 2 ml double-distilled water containing 0.5 g/kg and 2 g/kg TLCR for 8 weeks, respectively. Antother 8 healthy rats were taken as normal controls. The motor conduction velocity (MCV), sensory conduction velocity (SCV), and potential latency and amplitude of caudal nerves were measured after 8 weeks in all rats. Morphometric quantitative analysis was also performed. Results: Compared with normal control group, the MCV, SCV, and potential amplitude of the caudal nerve in DPN model group were decreased, but the potential latency was increased. OBJECTIVE:To determine serum concentrations of western medicines in patients treated with "traditional Chinese antiepileptic medicine" alone and to evaluate the curative effects.METHODS:A total of 60 epileptic patients who visited our hospital between Feb.1997 and June 2006 were subjected to plasma drug level monitoring and during which the patients were treated with "traditional Chinese antiepileptic drugs" alone.Plasma concentrations of 4 kinds of western medicin-es were determined by FPIA.RESULTS:Of the 60 cases,valproic acid,carbamazepine,phenytoin and phenobarbitone were detected in 18,40,41,and 47 cases/times,respectively.On average,more than two kinds of western medicines were detected in every patient,and the blood concentrations were mostly beyond effective plasma drug concentration.The total curative effects were unsatisfactory.CONCLUSION:The fact that western medicine ingredients detected in these traditional Chinese antiepileptic medicines is inconformity with medication principle of epilepsy.Traditional Chinese antiepileptic medicines should be used with caution in the clinic in the treatment of epileptic patients.

Objective To study the effects of different anesthetic methods on stress response in patients during laparoscopic hysterectomy. Methods 45 patients scheduled for laparoscopic hysterectomy were randomly divided into three groups: group A (n = 15) , group B( n = 15) and group C (n = 15). blood samples was taken from patients in each group before anaesthesia, at 10 min and 40 min after pneumoperitomeum with CO_2 , 10 min after operation, to determine the glucose (BG) , catecholamine ( CA ) , C - response protein (CRP) and interleukins -6( IL -6). The changes of MAP ,HR,P_(ET)CO_2 and SpO_2 were also recorded. Results After anesthesia, the MAP, HR significantly decreased in group A (P 0.05 ). Conclusion Combined general epidural anesthesia can effectively inhibit the stress response in patients undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy.
