Objective Gynecologic minimally invasive surgery has become popular in the treatment of tumor therapy in re-cent years, but improper application can result in tumor metastasis.In this paper, we presented 6 uterine neoplasm cases of tumor me-tastasis after minimally invasive surgery and analyzed the causes and the preventive measures. Methods Retrospective analysis was made on the clinical data and pathology characteristics of the 6 uterine neoplasm cases of tumor metastasis after primary minimally inva-sive surgery in our department from January 1, 2013 to 2015 June 30, and related literature were reviewed. Results The ages of 6 patients were 39-52 years old.The primary operation methods included 2 cases of hysteroscopic myomectomy, 3 cases of laparoscopic myomectomy and 1 case of radiofrequency ablation.The pathological diagnosis after primary operations were 4 cases of uterine sarcoma ( low grade endometrial stromal sarcoma in 2 cases and leiomyosarcoma in 2 cases) who were found metastatic tumor at 3-16 months after primary surgery and finally died of the disease and 2 cases of uterine fibroids who were found metastatic tumor in abdominal cavity and puncture hole at 60 months and 108 months respectively after primary operation followed by a good prognosis after the second surgi-cal resection. Conclusion Owing to uterine neoplasm by hysteroscopy, laparoscopy often needs certain pressure and morcellation which may result in easy plantation of crushing tumor tis-sue or metastasis with circulation and puncture under pressure.Ra-diofrequency ablation lack of histopathologic diagnosis has heating effect which is inclined to speed up the spread and transfer of tumor cells once it is diagnosed as malignant.Therefore, clinicians should know the defects and risk of being lack of histopathologic diagno-sis, diagnostic curettage pathology and fast pathology to avoid tumor metastasis induced by minimally invasive surgery.

OBJECTIVETo study the clinical utility of measuring reticulocyte hemoglobin content (CHr) in the diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in children.

METHODSOne hundred children with IDA at ages of 1 to 6 years and 50 healthy children were enrolled. Red blood cell parameters, CHr, hemoglobin (Hb), red blood count (RBC) and mean corpusular volume (MCV), were determined using the Blood Cell Analyzer. Serum ferritin (SF) levels were determined using radioimmunoassay double antibody techique. Soluble serum transferrin (sTfR) levels were determined using ELISA.

RESULTSThe values of Hb (100 ± 6 g/L vs 126 ± 8 g/L) and CHr (18 ± 5 pg vs 31 ± 3 pg) in the IDA group were significantly lower than normal controls (P<0.01). SF levels (11 ± 4 μg/L) in the IDA group were also lower than normal controls (59 ± 36 μg/L) (P<0.01). In contrast, the values of sTfR in the IDA group were significantly higher than normal controls (4.8 ± 2.1 mg/L vs 1.4 ± 0.6 mg/L; P<0.01). In both groups, there was a positive correlation between the values of CHr and Hb [r=0.540 (control group), r=0.734 (IDA group); P<0.01]. In the IDA group, CHr was positively correlated with SF(r=0.464; P<0.01) and negatively correlated with sTfR(r=-0.450; P<0.01). When the cut-off value of CHr was 27.8 pg, the sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of IDA were 88.0% and 90.0%, respectively and the area under the ROC curve was 0.948.

CONCLUSIONSCHr can be used as an index for the diagnosis of IDA in children.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the sub-acute oral effect of titanium dioxide (TiO₂) nanoparticles on the oxidation/antioxidation biomarkers and inflammatory cytokines in blood, liver, intestine, and colon in rats. METHODS: Twenty four 4-week-old clean-grade Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were randomly devided into 4 groups by body weight (n=6, control, low, middle, and high), in which the rats were orally exposed to TiO₂ nanoparticles at doses of 0, 2, 10 and 50 mg/kg body weight/day for 28 consecutive days separately. Food intake, body weight and abnormal behaviors during the experiment were recorded. The rats were euthanized on the 29th day. The blood was collected via abdominal aortic method and centrifuged to collect the serum. Tissues from liver, intestine and colon were collected and homogenated. Then enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and microwell plate methods were used to detect oxidation/antioxidation biomarkers including superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), total mercapto (T-SH), glutathione disulfide (GSSG), malomdialdehvde (MDA) and inflammatory cytokines including interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in the serum, liver, intestine and colon in the rats. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, no significant differences in body weight, food intake and organ coefficients were observed in all the three groups after TiO₂ gavage. No significant changes in GSH, GSH-Px, T-SH, and IL-6 were observed. Compared with the control group, significant increase of SOD activity in serum in high dose group, signi-ficant increase of GSSG concentration in intestine in middle and high dose group and significant increase of MDA concentration in liver in low and high dose group were observed. Compared with the control group, a significant increase of TNF-α in liver in middle and high dose group was observed. CONCLUSION TiO₂ nanoparticle can increase antioxidant enzymes activities in blood, increase oxidative biomarkers in liver and intestine, increase inflammatory cytokines in liver in rats after a 28-day sub-acute orally administration. Among blood, liver, intestine, and colon, liver is most sensitive to the toxicity induced by TiO₂ nanoparticles, followed by intestine, blood, and colon in sequence.

BACKGROUND: Gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM) is generally considered to be the main mucosal background for the development of gastric adenocarcinomas. Using linked color imaging (LCI), we noticed that the color pattern in areas of GIM was purple mixed with white on the epithelium with signs of mist that were detected by the non-magnifying LCI observation. We have termed this endoscopic finding "Purple in Mist" (PIM). The aim of this study was to investigate whether PIM could be a useful optical sign for predicting GIM. METHODS: We prospectively evaluated consecutive patients undergoing endoscopy for various indications. The endoscopist used the LCI system to carefully observe the gastric antrum, body and angulus. When a PIM was identified in the surface layer, targeted biopsies were subsequently taken from this part. If the suspected area had no PIM on the surface, targeted biopsies were also taken. RESULTS: Sixty-three consecutive patients were included in this study. The prevalence of intestinal metaplasia (IM) was 29/63 (46%). In PIM-positive patients, the prevalence of IM was 23/26 (89%). Of these patients, 146 biopsy specimens were included in this study. For the diagnosis of IM, compared to histological assessment, the LCI finding had an accuracy of 91.1% (95%CI: 86.5%-95.7%), a sensitivity of 89.8% (95%CI: 81.3%-98.3%), a specificity of 91.8% (95%CI: 86.3%-97.2%), a positive predictive value of 84.6% (95%CI: 74.8%-94.4%), and a negative predictive value of 94.7% (95%CI: 90.1%-99.2%). CONCLUSIONS: A positive PIM finding in a suspicious lesion on LCI would complement LCI diagnosis of possible IM because of the positive predictive value of PIM. Hydrogel nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by precipitation polymerization method with N-isopropyl acrylamide (NIPAm), acrylic acid (Aac), N-tert butyl acrylamide (tBAM) and N,N'-methylene bisacrylamide(Bis) as thermosensitive monomer,negative monomer,hydrophobic monomer and crosslinker, respectively. The morphology of the resulting NPs was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and the size and the particle size distribution were investigated by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The dynamics test was also carried out to investigate adsorption property of NPs. The results showed that NPs was spherical with uniform particle size and narrow distribution. NPs had the best adsorption performance to lysozyme when the monomer molar ratio was optimized to Aac 20%,tBAM 40%,NIPAm 38% and Bis 2%. Meanwhile, when the particle size of NPs decreased from 386. 20 nm to 77. 25 nm, the adsorption capacity increased gradually. The adsorption rate could reach up to 67.8% within 5 minutes. The thermosensitive of NPs provided a new candidate for the adsorption and separation of lysozyme with good reusability.

In this study, a method for rapid identification of three kinds of honey and four kinds of syrup by microwave plasma torch mass spectrometry ( MPT-MS) without sample pretreatment was established. Under the positive ion mode, honey and syrup were ionized by MPT-MS and analyzed by quadrupole mass spectrometry ( QMS). The MS data were analyzed with chemometrics methods. Consequently, principal component analysis ( PCA) showed that PC1, PC2 and PC3 had a total contribution rate of 91. 2％ , and cluster analysis (CA) indicated when the critical value was 7, this method could distinguish honey and syrup in addition to clover honey and inulin syrup. Partial least squares-discriminant analysis ( PLS-DA) also manifested that honey and syrup could be effectively distinguished. Discriminant analysis (DA) demonstrated that the discriminant accuracy of honey and syrup was 100％ . Accordingly, all the results showed that the method of MPT-MS combined with chemometrics could identify honey and syrup rapidly. In brief, this method has the advantages such as fast analysis speed, accurate information extraction, high recognition accuracy and without sample pretreatment, and can be used for the identification of honey and main adulterated syrup.

OBJECTIVETo treat the comminute distal radius fractures by improved splint, and obersve the curative effect and compare the radiology with the traditional splint.

METHODSNinety-two patients with distal radius comminute fracture were randomly divided into two groups. There were 38 males and 54 females. The average age was 63 years old ranging from 23 to 82. Acording to AO classification on the distal fracture of the radius, there were 15 cases of A3, 40 cases of C1, 26 cases of C2 and 11 cases of C3. After all patients were treated by manipulative reduction, 46 cases of the treatment group were fixed supra-carpometacarpal joints by improved splint and trapezoid pad, the other 46 cases of control group were treated with the traditional spilint. Both groups were regularly taken X-ray recheck and changed dressings to obtain the clinical cicatrization. Patients were guided to do functional exercise after splints were taken off. Six weeks later all patients were evaluated the curative and radiologic effect according to Gartland-Werlley wrist score and Lidstrom grade respectively.

RESULTSAccording to wrist score,there were 13 cases on excellent, 34 cases on fine and 9 cases on normal in treatment group, which average score was (4.0 +/- 2.6) and the percent of wrist functional fitness was 80.6%. There were 9 cases on excellen, 19 cases on fine and 18 cases on normal in control group, which average score was (6.0 +/- 4.2) and the percent of wrist grad and 4 cases on the third grade in treatment group. There were 22 cases on the first grade, 16 cases on the second grad and 8 cases on the third grade in control group.

CONCLUSIONThe outcome of improved splint was better than that of traditional splint on the function and radiology for treating the comminute distal radius fracture.

OBJECTIVETo compare the actions of the three flavone ingredients in choerospondias axillaris on arrhythmias Induced by aconitine.

METHODLangendorff perfuse was applied in the experiment, the antiarrhythmic action was to study by using aconitine on the the isolated heart; The antiarrhythmic action of the three flavone ingredients in choerospondias axillaris was to study by using i.v. aconitine in rat to induce arrhythmias.

RESULTCompared with the NS group, sample 1 and sample 2 both significantly prolonged the beginning time of VF of isolated heart and increased the dosage of aconitine, sample 3 reduced the beginning time of VF of isolated heart and decreased the dosage of aconitine, sample 1 and sample 2 both greatly prolonged the beginning time of VE, VT, VF, HA; sample 3 greatly reduced the beginning time of VT,VF. The actions of the three samples were in a concentration-dependent way.

CONCLUSIONSample 1 and sample 2 both resisted the occurrence of arrhythmias induced by aconitine, sample 3 markedly promoted the occurrence of arrhythmias induced by aconitine.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the clinical efficacy of over-elbow small splint fixation for the treatment of comminuted Colles fractures.

METHODSFrom October 2013 to October 2015, 52 patients with comminuted Colles fracture were divided into two groups (the traditional splint fixation group and the over-elbow small splint fixation group) according to the treatment strategy. There were 26 patients in the over-elbow small splint fixation group including 7 males and 19 females with an average age of (64.615±11.475) years old ranging from 38 to 85 years old, and 26 patients in the traditional splint fixation group including 9 males and 17 females with an average age of (65.269±13.162) years old ranging 36 to 91 years old, respectively. In the over-elbow small splint fixation group, 3 cases were type A3 fractures, 9 cases were type C1, 7 cases were type C2 and 7 cases were type C3;in the traditional splint fixation group, 4 cases were type A3, 8 cases were type C1, 9 cases were type C2 and 5 cases were type C3. After manipulative reduction, the fractures in traditional splint fixation group were fixed with traditional small splint, and the fractures in over-elbow small splint fixation group were added with over-elbow right angle splint for the first three weeks, then continued fixing like the control group until clinical cicatrization. All patients in both groups were regularly taken X-ray examination and changed dressings to obtain the clinical healing. Patients were guided to do functional exercise after splints were taken off. The therapeutic effects were evaluated according to modified Green and O'Brein score system after 8 weeks' functional exercise.

RESULTSAll patients got clinical healing without severe complications in both groups. The shortened length of radius in traditional splint fixation group was more than that in over-elbow small splint fixation group (5.923±1.978) mm VS (2.962±1.248) mm(<0.05). There was no significant difference in radial incline between two groups. There was a higher wrist score in over-elbow small splint fixation group compared with traditional splint fixation group 89.615±11.482 vs 80.385±13.485(<0.05).

CONCLUSIONSOver-elbow small splint fixation is better than traditional splint fixation for the treatment of comminuted Colles fracture because of reliable clinical result and excellent wrist functional recovery.

OBJECTIVETo determine the efficacy and safety of combined L-carnitine and acetyl-L-carnitine therapy in infertile males with oligoasthenozoospermia.

METHODSOne hundred fifty patients with oligoasthenozoospermia were randomized selected into treatment and control groups. The treatment group with 90 patients were given L-carnitine (2 g/d) and acetyl-L-carnitine (1 g/d) orally, twice a day. The patients in control group were given Vitamin E 100 mg plus Vitamin C 100 mg, tid. The oral therapy lasted three months and patients accepted sperm analysis every one month. The L-carnitine level in seminal plasma was examined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPC). Side effects as well as pregnant rate were observed.

RESULTSIn the treatment group, 85 patients out of 90 finished the three month treatment. Female spouses of 10 patients (11.6%) achieved pregnancy. Moreover, their forward motile sperm per ejaculation, total motile sperm, as well as the concentration of L-carnitine in seminal plasma were increased significantly (P < 0.01). In control group, 53 patients out of 60 completed three months therapy. Two pregnancy (3.7%) was observed. Though some increase was seen in number of forward motile sperm and total motile sperm per ejaculation, the changes were not statistically significant (P > 0.05). The difference of the pregnant rate between two groups was statistically significant. No side effects were found.

CONCLUSIONCombined treatment with L-carnitine and acetyl-L-calmitine can be an effective and safe option for treating oligoasthenozoospermia by means of significantly improving forward motile sperm and total motile sperm per ejaculation, as well as increasing pregnant rates.
