Objective To study the relationship between self-esteem and childhood abuse, life events among male violent adolescent. Methods According to the modified overt aggression scale, juvenile delinquents were divided into violent group (n = 128 )and nonviolent group (n = 118 ). All the participants were investigated by Self-Esteem Scale (SES), Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-28 Item Short Form (CTQ-SF) and Adolescent SelfRating Life Events (ASLEC) and conducted correlation and regression analysis. Results ①Violent group had lower self-esteem scores ( 22.73 ± 3.30 ) than the nonviolent group ( 23.81 ± 3.30, P ＜ 0.05 ). Violent group had higher scores in physical abuse, sexual abuse, total life events, interpersonal relationship, punishment, and other (8.30 ±4.07, 7.23 ±2.26, 54.48 ±18.60, 10.09 ±3.84, 14.43 ±5.87, 4.93 ±3.15, 9.93 ±3.64), compared to the nonviolent group (7.27 ± 3.27, 6.60 ± 2.09, 45.40 ± 18.45, 8.42 ± 4.13, 11.07 ± 5.75, 3.66 ±2.81, 7.84 ±3.66, P＜0. 05). ②The self-esteem was significantly negative correlated with the childhood abuse and life events( r= -0. 143 ～ -0. 358, P＜ 0.01 ) among violent male adolescents. ③The physical abuse and punishment had significant prediction function of 15.6% on self-esteem. Conclusions Violent adolescents have low self-esteem, which is closely related to childhood abuse and adolescent life events.

The chemical constituents of 95% ethanol extract of Melastoma dodecandrum were isolated and purified by chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, and HPLC, to obtain thirteen compounds eventually. On the basis of their physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic data, these compounds were identified as quercetin (1), quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), quercetin-3-O-(6"-O-p-coumaroyl) -β-D-glucopyranoside (3), kaempferol (4), kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), kaempferol-3-O- [2",6"-di-O-(E)-coumaroyl]-β-D-glucopyra-noside (6), luteolin (7), luteolin-7-O-(6"-p-coumaroyl) -β-D-glucopyranoside (8), apigenin (9), apigenin-7-(6"-acetyl-glucopyranoside) (10) , naringenin (11), isovitexin (12), and epicatechin-[8,7-e] -4β-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3,4-dyhydroxyl-2(3H)-pyranone (13). Eight compounds(3,5,6,8-11 and 13) were obtained from M. dodecandrum for the first time.

Objective To evaluate the safety and clinical efficacy of stent implantation using a rapid artificial cardiac pacing technique on ostial lesions of left anterior descending artery (LAD).Methods From Jun 2008 to Nov 2010,38 patients with ostial lesions of LAD were recruited and randomly divided into two groups:patients with stent implantation using a rapid artificial cardiac pacing technique (pacing group,n =19 ) and patients with direct stent implantation (no-pacing group,n =19 ).Post-stenting examination was performed.Patients were followed-up for 9 months and coronary angiography was reviewed.The immediate success rate,major adverse cardiac events including death,reinfarction and target vessel revascularization,late lumen loss,sent thmmbosisin,rent-restenosis were compared between these two groups.Results There were no significant differences in the baseline values,disease characteristics and instant response to surgery between pacing and no-pacing groups(P ＞ 0.05 ).The time cost for stent placement was significantly shorter in the pacing group than that in the no-pacing group ( [ 16.5 ± 0.5 ] s vs.[46.6 ± 1.4 ] s,t =88.256,P =0.004 ).After surgery,there was no acute or subacute thrombosis,in-stent restenosis or occlusion for patients in the pacing group.In the no-pacing group,one patient developed acute thrombosis.The symptoms disappeared after thrombus aspiration and balloon dilatation by emergency percutaneous coronary intervention.Patients were followed up for 270 -275 days,and patients in the pacing group received post-stenting coronary angiography 9 months after stent implantation using a rapid artificial cardiac pacing technique,and no in-stent re-stenosis was found.During this period,nobody had adverse events such as death,myocardial infarction or target lesion revascularization,while five cases with in-stent restenosis (50％ -60％ )were found in the no-pacing group,without further target lesion reconstruction due to symptomless.Conclusion Compared with previous positioning technique,stent implantation using a rapid artificial cardiac pacing technique on treatment of ostial lesions of LAD is safer,and more effective.It is a favorable method for accurate positioning of bracket and can improve the prognosis,reduce the occurrence of acute thrombosis and in-stent restenosis.

In this study, the rat type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) model was established through tail vein injection with low dose of streptozotocin (STZ) and high fat diet for 8 weeks, and then treated with Jiaotai Pill. The oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), fasting serum insulin (FINS), free fatty acid(FFA) levels and blood lipid were assayed. HOMA-IR was calculated. Pancreatic pathology was performed. And pancreatic triglyceride (TG) content was examined by the lipid extraction method. Pancreatic islet cell apoptosis were detected by terminal dexynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL). According to the results, the model group showed abnormal OGTT, increased FINS, HOMA-IR, FFA, lipid disorder, obvious fat accumulation and significantly increased TG content in pancreatic tissues, and enhanced pancreatic islet cell apoptosis. Compared with the model group, the Jiaotai Pill group displayed improved OGTT, reduced FINS, HOMA-IR, FFA, recovered lipid disorder, decreased fat accumulation and significantly declined TG content in pancreatic tissues, and lowered pancreatic islet cell apoptosis. In summary, Jiaotai pill could effectively treat type 2 diabetes in rats. Its mechanism may be related to the reduction in pancreatic fat accumulation and islet cell apoptosis.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between Chinese medicine syndrome patterns (CMSP) and their associated factors in patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy stage III (DN2-3).

METHODSRetrospective analysis was conducted on 209 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The patients were allocated into two groups, the DN2-3 group and the control group. Some related clinical materials and laboratory indexes, including age, course of disease, body mass index (BMI), glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), blood levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high and low density lipoprotein (HDL and LDL), serum creatinine (Scr) and microalbuminuria (MALB) as well as their CMSP (both the essential syndrome and the superficial syndrome) in the DN2-3 group were collected and compared.

RESULTSSignificant differences were found between the DN2-3 group and the control group in aspects of course of disease (months, 107.74 +/- 96.19 vs. 82.03 +/- 79.10), BMI (kg/m2, 26.25 +/- 4.02 vs. 24.95 +/- 3.56) and Scr level (mmoL/L, 71.93 +/- 24.24 vs. 65.91 +/- 13.70, P < 0.05). The qi-yin deficiency SP (38 cases, 36.19%), and the blood stasis (51 cases, 48.58%) presented as the dominant essential and superficial CM-SP respectively in DN2-3 patients, holding the highest proportion. Analysis on the relationship of associated indices among patients with different CMSP showed statistical differences presented in level of MALB, i.e. which in pi-shen qi-deficiency SP (128.77 +/- 103.59 mg/24 h) was higher than in yin-deficiency dryness-fire SP and qi-yin deficiency SP (88.43 +/- 68.93 mg/24h and 82.60 +/- 55.22 mg/24 h, P < 0.05); it also presented in HbA1c (%) and TG levels(mmol/L), those in stasis SP were 10.73 +/- 2.71 and 2.29 +/- 1.58 ), in dampness SP were 8.80 +/- 2.19% and 4.37 +/- 5.92, and in stasis-phlegm SP were 8.83 +/- 2.09 and 2.40 +/- 2.18 (all P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSThe risk factors for occurrence of DN2-3 may be the course of disease, BMI and Scr. Qi-yin deficiency with blood-stasis is the most commonly encountered syndrome in patients with DN2-3. Relations of MALB with Pi-Shen qi-deficiency pattern; HbA1c with blood-stasis pattern, and TG with dampness syndrome are distinctly exhibited in them.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of four kinds of traditional Chinese herbal compound, Sini powder, Banxiahoupu soup, Ganmaidazao soup and Guizhigancaolonggumuli soup, on the experimental acute stress behaviors and the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal gland axis.

METHODRats were divide into 7 groups: normal group, model 1 and 2 groups, Sini powder group, Banxiahoupu soup group, Ganmaidazao soup group, and Guizhigancaolonggumuli soup group. The behaviors of the rats and their CRH of the hypothalamus, ACTH of plasma and CORT of serum (by the means of radio-immunity) were detected.

RESULTSini powder could reduce the crossing times of open-field test( P < 0.01) and the contents of CRH and CORT (P < 0.01, P < 0.05); Banxiahoupu soup could extent the still time of tail-hanging test ( P < 0.05) and the content of CRH (P < 0.05); Ganmaidazao soup could prolong the still time (P < 0.05) and reduce the struggle times (P < 0.01) of tail-hanging test and reduce the contents of CRH, ACTH and CORT (P < 0.01, P < 0.05); Guizhigancaolonggumuli soup could reduce the crossing times of open-field test (P < 0.01) , extent the still time (P < 0.05) and reduce the struggle times ( P < 0.01) of tail-hanging test of tail-hanging test, also reduce the contents of CRH, ACTH and CORT (P < 0.01, P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe four kinds of traditional Chinese herbal compound can increase the ability of anti stress by affect the different taches of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal gland axle and change the stress behaviors, which are based on their respective functions of regulating Qi, dispersing phlegm, tonifying Qi and warming Yang.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the polymorphism and haplotypes of HLA-A, B, Cw, DRB1 and DQB1 loci in Chinese Han population.

METHODSA total of 186 unrelated healthy individuals from southern China were analyzed by sequence-based typing. Two-, three-, and five-locus haplotypes were estimated using the Expectation Maximization Algorithm. RESULTST: Twenty-eight alleles for the HLA-A locus, 49 HLA-B alleles, 24 HLA-C alleles, 29 HLA-DRB1 alleles and 20 HLA-DQB1 alleles were detected. The A*0207-B*4601(10.81%), A*3303-B*5801(6.14%), B*4601-DRB1*0901(6.22%), B*4001*-DRB1*0901(3.78%), DRB1*090-DQB1*0303 (12.16%) and DRB1*1202-DQB1*0301(8.38%), A*0207-B*4601-Cw*0102 (10.75%), A*3303-B*5801-Cw*0302 (5.14%), A*0207-B*4601-DR*0901(5.07%), A*3303-B*5801-DRB1*0301(2.96%), A*0207-B*4601-Cw*0102-DRB1*0901-DQB1*0303(4.87%) and A*1101-B*1301-Cw*0304-DRB1*1501-DQB1*0601(2.43%) were the most common haplotypes in the southern Chinese Han population.

CONCLUSIONThe results have shown the characteristics of the five HLA loci haplotype distribution and provided more information in anthropology, disease association studies and transplantation.

OBJECTIVETo explore the influence of borneol on intestinal absorption of muscone in rats.

METHODAn in situ intestinal circulation perfusion experiment was used to study the changes in intestinal absorption kinetics of muscone before and after being compatible with borneol.

RESULTCompared with the muscone group (MG), the absorption rate constants (Ka), the half-life period (T1/2) and the absorption rate (A) of muscone in the borneol + muscone group (BMG) were on the rise, but with no significant difference; after being compatible with borneol for a long period, Ka, T1/2 and A in the last borneol on muscone group (LBMG) increased, with significant difference (P < 0.05). in duodenum, LBMG showed better effects than MG (T1/2, P < 0.05); and so did in jejunum (Ka, P < 0.05; T1/2, P < 0.05); in ileum, there was no significant statistical difference between LBMG and MG.

CONCLUSIONBorneol can promote the intestinal absorption of muscone in rats to some extent.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the alteration of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) in diffusion-weighted MR imaging (MR-DWI) of liver fibrosis and its pathological basis in rabbits.

METHODSFive rabbits in the control group and 22 with experimental liver fibrosis induced by transperitoneal injection of carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) were examined with MR-DWI. Diffusion-weighted SE EPI sequence with a relatively high b factor (b=600 s/mm2) was used to measure the ADC. The mean values of ADC were compared among the rabbits in different stages of liver fibrosis and analyzed in relation to the pathological findings.

RESULTSThe mean ADC value decreased significantly with increased severity of liver fibrosis (P<0.05). Pathologically, the amount and extension of fibrotic matrix increased, and the hepatic necroinflammation worsened with the progression of the liver fibrosis.

CONCLUSIONThe ADC value decreases with the progression of liver fibrosis possibly as the result of water diffusion limitation due to increased fibrous tissue in the liver and abnormal water diffusion within the intracellular and extracellular spaces.

OBJECTIVETo study the alkaloids of Macleaya cordata and their anti-tumor activities.

METHODAlcohol and liquid-liquid extraction were used methods were used to extract the alkaloids constituents, and silica gel, reverse-phase octadecylsilyl (ODS), sephadex LH-20 chromatographic methods and HPLC were applied to isolate and purify compounds. MS, NMR spectroscopic methods were used to determine their structures. Furthermore, the cytotoxicity of these chemical components for MCF-7 and SF-268 cell lines was measured by MTT method.

RESULTTwelve alkaloids were isolated from the fruits of M. cordata, and their structures were identified as: maclekarpine E (1), 6-acetonyldihyrochelerythrine (2), cavidilinine (3), 6-acetonyldihyrosanguinnarine (4), O-methylzanthoxyline (5), 6-methoxy-dihydrosanguinarine (6), spallidamine (7), 6-hydroxyldihydrochelerythrine (8), arnotianamida (9), dihydrosanguinarine (10), protopine (11), and cryptopine (12).

CONCLUSIONCompounds 1, 3, 7-9 were isolated from M. cordata for the first time, and compound 5 is a new natural product. The results of cytotoxic assay indicated that compound 6 showed strong cytotoxicity against MCF-7 and SF-268 cell lines with IC50 values of 0.61 μmol · L(-1) and 0.54 μmol · L(-1), respectively.
