Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of antibacterial drugs conservative therapy versus appendectomy for treating simple acute appendicitis(AA).Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCT) on antibacterial drugs conservative therapy versus appendectomy for treating simple AA were retrieved from CBM (1978 June 2015),CNKI (1979-June 2015),Medline (1950-June 2015),Pubmed (1950-June 2015),Embase (1970-June 2015) and Cochrane library (issue 2,2015) by computer.The included RCTs were performed the data extraction according to the criteria of the Cochrane handbook by two researchers.Then the included d/literatures were performed the quality assessment and the extracted effective data were performed the meta analysis.Results Six RCTs were included involving 1510 patients with AA,among them,767 cases were treated with antibacterial drugs and 743 cases were treated with appendectomy.Compared with surgical treatment,the effect rate of antibacterial medication conservative therapy was decreased by 25.00％ (RD=-0.25,95％ CI:-0.35--0.14),the recurrence rate was increased by 48.43 times (OR=48.43,95％CI:16.94-138.44),the loss time of labor force was shortened by 1.52 d (MD=-1.52,95％ CI:-3.02 0.02),but the occurrence rate of complications(RD=-0.06,95％CI:-0.15 0.03),pain time(MD=-0.76,95％CI:-3.31 1.79),hospital stay time (MD=4.60,95％CI:-0.89 10.09) and sick leave time(MD=-2.39,95％CI:-5.62-0.84) had no statistical differences between the two kinds of treatment method(P＞0.05).Conclusion Appendectomy may be the gold standard method for treaung simple AA.

BACKGROUND: Bone cement coated by different materials has various characteristics and causes varying therapeutic effects. OBJECTIVE: By comparing characteristics of CPC, CPC/D, and CPC/M/D3 to investigate the preparation of doxorubicin microspheres-coated bone cement. METHODS: Doxorubicin microspheres were prepared with multiple emulsion solvent volatilixation method. Doxorubicin microspheres were mixed with CPC as the ratio of 3:7 to prepare doxorubicin microspheres-coated bone cement. The samples were randomly divided into three groups: CPC group, containing bone cement alone; CPC/D group, containing doxorubicin;CPC/M/D group, containing doxorubicin microspheres. Scanning electron microscope at varying magnification was used to observe structural characteristics and measure the diameter of microspheres. X-ray diffraction was used to estimate the extent of CPC and CPC/M/D samples. The initial and final setting time of cement samples in the three different groups was measured at 25 ℃ and 37℃ respectively. The injectability and interval porosity of different samples were tested. The compressive strength of the specimens was measured using a universal material testing machine to record the maximal compressive strength and breaking strength. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: PLGA microspheres (100-150 μm) were globular and the surface was slick and sly. Micrestructure of bone cement was not obviously changed following mixing with drugs, thus the location and characteristics of drugs in bone cement were not determined. Micrespheres-coated bone cement (100-150 μm) was distributed among CPC powder. All the X-ray diffraction pattern of three different samples was in coincidence with standard X-ray diffraction pattern of hydroxyapatite, i.e., the major peak was located near 32°. Additional drugs and microspheres did not cause new phases. Obvious collapsing was not observed in the three samples following immediately adding in saline, but the collapsing appeared in both CPC/D and CPC/M/D samples after 24 hours. The setting-up time of CPC/M/D was the longest, but that of CPC was the shortest. On the other hand, the setting-up time was the longest at 37℃. The final setting-up time of CPC/M/D group was 45 minutes. The doxorubicin microspheres-coated bone cement showed the best property of injectability among the three kinds of cement. The interval porosity was the highest in the CPC/M/D group but the lowest in the CPC group. Interval porosity of doxorubicin microspheres-coated bone cement was up to 61.67%. The yield stress was the strongest in the CPC group but the weakest in the CPC/M/D group. Additionally, the yield stress of calcium phosphate cement dramatically decreased while doxrorubicin microspheres were coated. However, there was no significant difference between them. The preparation of doxorubicin microspheres-coated bone cement was reliable and the product had good structures and properties.

Aim To evaluate the effect and mechanism of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and Cysteine protease aspartic acid-3(Caspase-3) inhibition of human hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)implants in nude mice by nanometer magnetic interferon-?2b liposome targeting therapy.Methods Thirty nude mices bearing human HCC were divided into 5 groups of 6 mice:group 1,saline(NS);group 2,free interferon-?2b group(IFN);group 3,interfe-ron-?2b liposome group(IL);group 4,magnetic liposome group(ML);group 5,nanometer magnetic interferon-?2b liposome group(MIL).Above dosage of 200 ?l/nude mice was respectively injected through the caudal vein in these 6 groups.Meantime,magnetic field with the strength of 5000 GS was added to the tumor surface about 30 min,and this therapy was done three times.After 30 days,the mices were killed and the tumors were taken out.The difference at the mRNA expression level of VEGF and Caspase-3 was observed by RT-PCR between the experimental group and control group.The protein expression level of VEGF and Caspase-3 was detected by western blot between the experimental group and control group.Results Targeting therapy study in nude mice bearing human HCC displayed that the growth speed of tumor in the MIL group significantly slowed down than other groups.The tumor inhibition rate of MIL group was 62.50%,which was remarkably higher than those of the IFN group(27.61%) and IL group(28.17%).RT-PCR showed that the mRNA expression of VEGF of MIL group is the lowest of all groups(P

Objective To observe the expressions of grouth-related oncogen (GRO)α, epithelial neutrophil activating protein-78 (ENA-78) and neutrophil-activating peptide-2 (NAP-2) of rat asthma. And to investigate the role of neutrophil in the pathogenesis of asthma exacerbation. Methods In this experi-ment, the rat model of asthma were randomly divided into two groups on average, including asthma group and control group. Levels of ENA-78 at blood neutrophil were detected by flow cytometry method. The ex-pressions of GROα protein at bronchial wall and NAP-2 protein at blood neutrophil were detected by immuno-histochemieal method. Results Levels of GROα, ENA-78 and NAP-2 proteins in asthma group [0.138 ±0.009(A value), 97.65±13.99(MFI), 0.198±0.016(A value), respectively]were significantly higher than those in control group[0.077±0.010(A value), 50.79±8.66(MFI), 0.079±0.015(A value), re-spectively], all P < 0.01. Conclusion Levels of GROα, ENA-78 and NAP-2 were increased at rat asth-ma. They may be participate in inflammation of asthma exacerbation. Neutrophil may promote inflammatory cells influxing into airway wall via increasing synthesis of CXC chemotactic factors.

[ ABSTRACT] AIM:To investigate the therapeutic effect of intranasal administration of CpG oligodeoxynucleotides (CpG-ODN), compared with intradermal administration, on lower airway inflammation in ovalbumin (OVA)-induced al-lergic combined airway disease (ACAD) mouse model.METHODS: Totally 30 female BALB/c mice aged from 6 to 8 weeks were randomly divided into control group , allergic rhinitis model group (AR group), ACAD group, ACAD intrana-sally treated with CpG-ODN group (CpG i.n.group) and ACAD intradermally treated with CpG-ODN group (CpG i.d. group).The mice were sensitized and challenged with OVA .Treatment with CpG-ODN was also performed during chal-lenge, either intranasally or intradermally .Immunologic variables and nasal symptom were studied .RESULTS:Compared with CpG i.d.group and ACAD group, the percentage of eosinophils from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), the levels of Th2 cytokine production in BALF and supernatants of cultured splenic lymphocytes , OVA-specific IgE from blood , peri-bronchial inflammation score in the lung , and nasal symptoms were significantly reduced in CpG i .n.group.CONCLU-SION:Allergic rhinitis treated by CpG-ODN has a significant improvement on lower airway inflammation in ACAD mouse model;and it may be more effective when administrated intranasally than intradermally .

OBJECTIVETo investigate the main factors that influence measles morbidity and the genotype of measles virus, so as to provide evidence for scientific decision making to further control the prevalence of measles.

METHODA retrospective analysis included 182 children in Children's Hospital of Fudan University, diagnosed with measles from January 1, 2012 to December 31. The clinical and epidemiological characteristics, including the gender, age, the incidence of seasonal trends, measles vaccine vaccination history, contact history and other clinical manifestations, laboratory test results, and so on were analyzed. And the reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR) was adopted to detect sputum specimens from suspected patients with measles,who were selected randomly,the sequence of the part of the PCR products was analyzed.

RESULT(1) Clinical and epidemiological data: Totally were 182 children with measles (125 males, 57 females) were enrolled into this study. The age of the patients ranged from 3 months to 89 months, 127 cases were younger than 9 months (69. 8%). The prevalence season was from April to August, while the peak month was April and May (22. 5%, 23. 1%). Among 182 hospitalized children, only 11 cases underwent measles vaccination (6. 0%), and among them 5 cases were within 2 weeks before disease onset. A total of 167 cases (91. 8%) had not been vaccinated, most of whom were immigrants, and the measles vaccination history of the remaining 4 cases were unknown. There was a positive correlation between the measles vaccination ratio in children of the floating population (8. 45%, 6/71) and the settled children (29.4%, 5/17, χ =8. 11 P =0. 004). In total, 24 cases (13. 2%) had definite measles exposure history, with 153 cases (84. 1%) of unknown origin,5 cases (2.7%) without any history of contact. (2) Clinical manifestations: All the 182 patients had fever (100%) and obvious rashes (100%), among them 145 cases had body temperature higher than 39 °C (79. 7%). The fever period ranged from 2 to 38 days. Among 182 hospitalized children,165 cases (90. 7%) had typical measles,17 cases had atypical measles. Among the 17 cases, two had severe measles, one had heterotypic measles. (3) The common complica tions: 96 cases had pneumonia (52. 8%), 80 had laryngitis (44. 0%), 38 had bronchitis (20. 9%),15 had hepatic dysfunction (8. 2%), 11 had myocardial damage (6. 0%), 3 had febrile seizures (1. 6%), and no patient had encephalitis. Of the 96 cases with pneumonia, 92 received sputum test; 38 were sputum culture positive (41%). The dominant pathogens were Streptococcus pneumoniae(11/38,29%), Haemophilus influenzae (6/ 38,16%), Moraxella catarrhalis (4/38, 11%), Escherichia coli (4/38, 11%), Candida albicans (4/38, 11%), Mycoplasma pneumoniae (4/38, 11%) and Staphylococcus aureus (3/38, 8%). (4) The H1a genotype was the only one genotype in the detected sequence of 54 measles virus strains.

CONCLUSIONMeasles was more often seen in the children under the age of 9 months from the floating population. The morbidity peak month was from April to May in Shanghai. The H1a genotype was the only one genotype. We should try to improve vaccination coverage rate in the children who are at the age for vaccination, so as to prevent measles outbreak.

The mechanism of chromium accumulation and microstructure transformation of the fused yeast were studied in this paper.The result showed that the process of Cr6+ reduction and adsorption was accom-panied by the H+ consumption.The main adsorptive groups on the strain surface included amino,hydroxyl,phosphate group and amide,among which phosphate group played vital role in the chromium accumulation.The removal rate of chromium and reduction rate of hexavalent chromium declined 70% and 46%,respec-tively,when phosphate group was masked.During the adsorption process the chromium ions complexed on the surface of fused yeast was transported into the cell wall and combined with inclusion to form steady spe-cies and this took 90 min to reach the equilibrium.The biosorption and reduction of Cr on the cell surface would alter microstructure of cell surface,reduce cell membrane potential and increase cell membrane per-meability.

Effects of Cr 6+ concentration and culture time on four heavy metal removing strains,stability of these four strains removing Cr 6+,configuration changes inside or outside their cells,effects of Cr 6+ on soluble reductive sugar inside their cells,and effect of several factors on these strains had been studied,and the Cr 6+ resistance mechanisms of these strains have been discussed elementarily. The results showed that the Lethality of these strains caused by Cr 6+ was similar with one another, namely, increasing at first, then decreasing, and finally increasing again as culture time passed. Acclimatization of Candida sp. was better than Sporobolomycetaceae sp.,and the Cr 6+ resistance of Sporobolomycetaceae sp. 7-3 was the best of the four. The research also demonstrated that the metabolic activity of these strains had been influenced by Cr 6+ in a certain extent. Scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,and atomic force microscopy observations approved that removal of Cr 6+ by Candida sp. was depended on both surface adsorption and intracellular accumulation. Effects of Cr 6+ concentration, pH, culture time, nitrogen source, carbon source and adsorption time on these strains are not the same.
