?Pathological myopia are often complicated by a series of pathological changes in fundus including foveoschisis, which can lead to visual dysfunction when processing with retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane and vitreoretinal traction diseases. According to the current knowledge, the main mechanism of foveoschisisi might be attributed to the impaired macular structure and function caused by a variety of traction on the retinal and retina poor condition. Surgical treatments have been reported to be effective in treating foveoschisis, however, the indications and surgical procedures are still controversial. ln this article, we reviewed the clinical features, diagnosis, treatment strategies and prognosis of pathological myopia foveoschisis.

Objective To identify PDZ domain containing proteins interacting with PTEN and its characterization with NHERF-1 by proteomic analysis. Methods The interactions between PTEN and PDZ domain containing proteins were screened with PDZ protein array, and the novel one was then identified with GST pull-down and co-immunoprecipitation assay. Results Using a PDZ protein array, we proved PTEN binding with NHERF-1. The interaction of PTEN and NHERF-1 was further characterized by GST pull down assay, and we demonstrated that PTEN associated with NHERF-1 via the binding of PTEN carboxyl-terminal with the PDZ domain 1 (PDZ1) of NHERF-1. The last four amino acids (I-T-K-V) of the PTEN were the key determinants of this interaction as mutation of any of the four amino acids to alanine resulted in markedly reducing association of PTEN with NHERF-1. In addition, the full-length of PTEN robustly associated with NHERF-1 was also determined by co-immunoprecipitation experiment in cos-7 cells. Conclusion PTEN/NHERF-1 association was mediated via the binding of PTEN carboxyl-terminal]with the PDZ1 of NHERF-1, and the last four amino acids of the PTEN carboxyl-terminal were important for PTEN/NHERF-1 interaction.

Objective To evaluate the value of CT virtual endoscopy(CTVE)for microsurgery of pituitary microadenomas via transsphenoidal approach. Methods In 18 patients with pituitary micmadenomas underwent microsurgery via transsphenoidal approach, the presurgical CT data was transfered to work station, the anatomies of the sphenoid sinus were then reconstructed by CTVE.The CTVE images were used to make the preoperative planning and indentify sphenoid sinus, sellar floor, and the position of the tumor during surgery. The CTVE images and the views from intraoperative microscope were compared. Results CTVE could display the anotomoties of sphenoid sinus in a three-dimentional mode. The display rates of superfical antomies such as sphenoid septa, sellar floor, carotid prominence, optic prominence and opticocarotid recess were 344.4%,100%,41.7%,36.1%and 58.3%respectively and the visual fields of these anatomic landmarks were larger than the views from the intraoperative microscope. CTVE could depcit the anatomies of the enhanced carotid ateries and pituitary tissue and some optic canals underlying the sellae by transparent function or heighten the threshold. The sites of the tumor could be marked correctly on CTVE images.CTVE could simulate the operative approach and some operating procedures properatively. Conclusion CTVE can display the anatomies of sphenoid sinus in a three-dimensional mode. In transsphenoidal treatment of pituitary microadenoma,CTVE can help to make preoperative planning, locate the intraoperative structures and make a precise bone window during surgery.
