Because of intense competition in today's society, college students are confronting with many life's problems and psychic conflicts in the process studying and growing up. With such advantages as rich psychological profiles, excellent surroundings, convenient communicating chances with other students and so on, University library is easy to provide students with mental health consulting and services. Therefore we should develop the educational functions of university library, taking the use of its advantage, by means of network and lecture etc, to provide psychological health service for university students.

Objective To explore the possible risk factors associated with postoperative lower respiratory infections in the elderly patients with lung carcinoma,and to formulate the appropriate preventive strategies according to the results of the study.Methods From January 2014 to April 2015,182 elderly patients with lung carcinoma who were undergoing surgical treatment in Renji Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University were collected.All patients were divided into infection group (n =29) and control group (n =153) according to whether occuring postoperative lower respiratory infections or not.The possible risk factors associated with postoperative lower respiratory infections were analyzed by single factor analysis and multivariable Logistic regression model.Results Single factor analysis showed that the postoperative lower respiratory infections of elderly patients with lung carcinoma were associated with age (t =-3.03,P ＜ 0.05),smoking (x2 =5.69,P =0.02),albumin (t =2.40,P =0.02),forced expiratory volume (FEV) 1.0％ (t =5.85,P ＜ 0.05),lung carcinoma stage (x2 =7.06,P =0.01),small cell lung cancer (x2 =5.09,P =0.02),complication with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (x2 =16.28,P ＜0.01) and complication with coronary heart disease (x2 =10.13,P ＜ 0.01).Multivariable Logistic regression analysis showed that age (OR =1.34,95％CI:1.13-1.59,x2 =11.17,P＜0.01),smoking (OR=12.68,95％ CI:2.06-78.04,x2 =7.50,P=0.01),FEV1.0％ (OR =0.90,95％ CI:0.83-0.97,x2 =7.76,P =0.01),squamous-cell carcinoma (OR =6.88,95％ CI:1.41-33.56,x2 =5.70,P =0.02),complication with COPD (OR =12.44,95％ CI:1.41-109.90,x2 =5.15,P =0.02) and complication with coronary heart disease (OR =10.61,95％ CI:2.25-90.50,x2 =7.18,P =0.01) were independent risk factors for postoperative lower respiratory infections in the elderly patients with lung carcinoma.Conclusion Age,smoking,squamous-cell carcinoma,low value of FEV1.0％,complication with COPD or coronary heart disease can increase the risk of postoperative lower respiratory infections in the elderly patients with lung carcinoma.Comprehensive and effective preventive strategies should be performed to reduce the risk of postoperative respiratory infections.

The digital X-ray imaging device was disinfected with trichloro-isocyanuric acid solution.The samples were taken with cotton swab pouring method before and 1,2,3 and 6 h after disinfection and the bacteriological examination was performed.Before disinfection the colony count of samples was all above the standard (＞ 10 cfu/cm2) with bacilli and gram-positive cocci predominantly.The highest count was detected in the X-ray photographic bed (58 cfu/cm2) and the lowest was in the exposure button(19 cfu/cm2).After disinfection the colony count in radiation suits still exceeded the standard,the colony count in diagnosis bed 2 h after disinfection,that in all parts of device 3 h after disinfection was off levels.The results indicate that the chlorine disinfectants can only achieve short-term effect in disinfection of digital X-ray imaging device.

Objective To summarize the X-ray and CT manifestations of dialysis- related osteoarthropathy. Methods The study consisted of 20 cases with long-term dialysis patients. The X-ray and CT scanning of their shoulder, knee, hip, wrist and cervical vertebrae were performed respectively. The X-ray and CT manifestations of dialysis- related osteoarthropathy were observed. Results The roentgenographic and CT features included:universal osteoporosis(n=20), bone resorption(n=17), bone sclerosis(n=15), calcification(n=19) . Conclusion X-ray and CT are of significance in diagnosing bone resorption and calcification.

Objective To compare the low- and standard-dose protocols in the evaluation of coronary artery calcification (CAC) scores and in image quality,and to assess the accuracy of low-dose prospective ECG-gated helical CT in CAC measurements.Methods Forty-three patients with CAC were scanned twice using a tube current setting of 100 and 55 mA retrospectively.CAC scores (Agatston) of different branches of coronary artery were recorded.The mean and SD of the CT attenuation values in regions of interest in the aorta were measured,and the value (mean + 2 × SD) were obtained.Results Calcification plaques were found in 105 of the 172 vessels in the 43 subjects.The radiation dose of the 50 mAs group was (0.72 ± 0.04) mSy,significantly lower by 0.6 mSv than that of the 100 mAs group [(1.32 ± 0.08) mSv,P ＜ 0.05].The total calcification score of the 55 mAs group was significantly positively correlated with the routine dose group after performing the square root transformation (r =0.998).A signficant correlation existed in vessel-based calcification between these 2 groups (r= 0.997).Conclusions Low-dose prospective ECG-gated 64-slice CT yields high accuracy on CAC scoring while maintaining the image quality needed to measure CAC.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship of airway remodeling with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF) levels in asthmatic mice and the effect of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (AG1478) on airway remodeling.

METHODSTwenty-four male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into three groups: normal control, asthma, AG1478-treated. Mice were sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin (OVA) and a mouse mode1 of asthma was prepared. Collagen deposition was determined in Masson-stained lung sections. Periodic acid Schiff (PAS) staining was used to observe the proliferation of goblet cells. Immunohistochemistry was used to determine the protein expression of HB-EGF. RT-PCR was used to determine the mRNA expression of HB-EGF and EGFR.

RESULTSThe characteristic changes of airway remodeling occurred in the asthma group. The expression of HB-EGF and EGFR in the epithelial cells of bronchi in the asthma group was significantly higher than that in the normal control group. Compared with the asthma group, the AG1478-treated group had decreased inflammation reactions, decreased collagen deposition and proliferation of goblet cells and lower expression of EGFR and HB-EGF.

CONCLUSIONSEGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (AG1478) ameliorates the progression of airway remodeling in mice with asthma by inhibitions of EGFR and HB-EGF expression and EGFR signal pathway.

Objective To investigate the effect of different doses of dexmedetomidine on the median effective concentration (EC50) of propofol required to prevent the response to Supreme laryngeal mask airway (LMA) insertion in aged patients.Methods ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients of both sexes,aged ≥ 65 yr,with a body mass index of 20-28 kg/m2,undergoing knee operation under general anesthesia,were randomly divided into 3 groups:control group (group C),small dose dexmedetomidine group (group D1 ) and large dose dexmedetomidine group (group D2 ).Dexmedetomidine 0.4 and 0.8 μg/kg were infused intravenously over 10 min in groups D1 and D2 respectively,while group C received the equal volume of normal saline instead.Anesthesia was induced with target-controlled infusion of propofol.The initial target plasma concentration of propofol was set at 3.5,3.0 and 2.6 μg/ml in groups C,D1 and D2 respectively.Following equilibration between the plasma and effect-site concentration of propofol,LMA was inserted when BIS value was 50-60.EC50 was determined by up-and-down sequential trial.The target plasma concentration of propofol increased/decreased by 10％ in the next patient depending on whether or not the LMA insertion response occurred.Positive LMA insertion response was defined as body movement,comer of the mouth movement,biting LMA,bucking and/or wallowing during insertion.The EC50 and 95％ confidence interval (CI) of propofol required to prevent LMA insertion response were calculated with sequential method.Results EC50(95％ CI) of propofol was 3.57 μg/ml (2.91-3.87 μg/ml),3.09 μg/ml (2.66-3.53 μg/ml) and 2.62 μg/ml (2.30-3.15 μg/ml) in groups C,D1 and D2 respectively.EC50 was significantly lower in groups D1 and D2 than in group C,and in group D2 than in group D1 ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine 0.4 and 0.8 μg/kg infused intravenously can reduce the EC50 of propofol required to prevent the response to Supreme LMA insertion in aged patients,and the effect of 0.8 μg/kg is more obvious.

Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of human neural stem cell (hNSC) transplantation in the treatment of severe cerebral palsy (CP) in children.Methods hNSCs were obtained from the forebrain of 10 to 12-week-fetus.Forty children with CP were voluntarily received hNSC transplantation that were injected into cerebral ventricle.The development of motor and fine motor functions were evaluated by GMFM and PDMS-FM 1 month before hNSC transplantation.as well as 3 and 6 months after hNSC transplantation.Results Twenty six (65％) cases displayed improvement from day 5 to month 6 after hNSC transplantation.GMFM assessment showed that the percentage was (4.52±2.50) ％ 1 month before hNSC transplantation,(7.74±2.94) ％ 3 months after hNSC transplantation and (13.01±6.71)％ 6 months after hNSC transplantation,indicating a significant improvement by the treatment of hNSC transplantation(P＜0.05).The percentage in PDMS-FM evaluation was (15.01± 12.00)％,(20.34± 11.91) ％ and (30.02± 12.50) ％ one month before hNSC transplantation,3 and 6 months after hNSC transplantation,respectively,also suggesting a significant improvement induced by hNSC transplantation treatment (P＜0.05).Moreover,the developmental improvement was the most prominent among 1-3 months post hNSC transplantation.Then the development slowed down.Significantly,patients received no hNSC transplantation experienced serious adverse events or complications.Conclusions hNSC transplantation is an effective and safer therapy for severe CP.Future observations are needed to evaluate long-term clinical efficacy of the therapy.

AIM: To study the effect of calcium sensing receptor (CaSR) on icariin (ICA) induced mouse embryonic stem cells ( mESCs) to differentiate into cardiomyocytes in vitro.METHODS:mESCs were cultured to embry-oid bodies ( EBs) by direct suspension method and the differentiation of EBs into cardiomyocytes was induced by ICA.The expression of cardiac specific proteinsα-actinin and cardiac troponin-I ( cTnI) was analyzed by Western blot and immuno-fluorescence.The differentiation rate was determined by flow cytometry.The ultrastructure of the derived cardiomyocytes was further characterized by transmission electron microscopy.The expression of cardiac-specific transcription factors Nkx2.5 and GATA-4,as well as CaSR was detected by Western blot.RESULTS: After induction with ICA, the positive characteristics of myocardial cells appeared in the EBs cultured for 2 d.The expression of cardiac-specific sarcomeric pro-tein actinin (α-actinin) and cTnI showed an overall upward trend by Western blot in different phases of ICA induced differ-entiation.The expression of CaSR, Nkx2.5 and GATA-4 was the highest at an early stage of ICA-induced differentiation. Neomycin (an activator of CaSR) up-regulated CaSR, NKx2.5 and GATA-4 expression in the EBs at early stage of ICA-in-duced differentiation, all of which were reversed by NPS2390 ( an inhibitor of CaSR) .CONCLUSION:CaSR is function-ally expressed in mESC-derived cardiomyocytes, and activation of CaSR is involved in the differentiation of mESCs into car-diomyocytes by facilitating the expression of NKx2.5 and GATA-4.

Objective To observe the application of elastic bandage in cerebral palsy with knee hyperextension. Methods 20 spastic diplegia children were radomly divided into control group and experimental group with 10 cases in each group. Both of them received conventional rehabilitation, including exercise therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. The experimental group worn elastic bandages additionally when orthostatic walk preparing and walking training. The knee range of motion (ROM), D and E zones of Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) were evaluated before and 3 months after treatment. Results The ROM decreased, and the score of GMFM increased after treatment in both groups (P<0.01), especially in the experimental group (P<0.01). Conclusion The elastic bandage can improve the knee function and the gross motor function of cerebral palsy children with knee hyperextension.
