Four hundreds and ninety sheep sera from seven breeds raised at eight counties and one city of Aksu region in Xinjiang were tested by ELISA for the presence of antibodies against hepatitis E virus (HEV), and the positive rate differences were compared based on administrative areas, breeds and age by Chi-square test. The result showed that the general positive rate was 28.98% (142/490), the positive rate were 35.44% (28/79), 29.67% (27/91), 20% (4/20), 40% (12/30), 32.5% (26/80), 38% (19/50), 22.5% (9/40), 8% (4/50) and 26% (13/50) respectively in eight counties and one city, there was a significant difference between Xayar and other administrative areas (P<0.01); there was also a significant difference among age ranges (P<0.01), being 38.75% (31/80) over 2 years old, 15.45% (17/110) below 1 year old; The seroprevalence was still related to breeds, i. e. there was a significant difference between Mongolia sheep and other breeds (P<0.01). From these data, it is confirmed that there is a possibility of previous and potential infection of sheep HEV in Aksu region of Xinjiang Autonomous.

Objective To study the role of hematopoietic growth factor(HGF)of placenta chorionic villus in fetal hematopoiesis during embryo ontogeny by observation of the appearance time and the content changes with the fetal growth, which was compared with HGF in cord blood. Methods Thirty embryo villus (2 g each) and 30 cord blood (2 mL each) were collected separately from early pregnant stage(6- 8 weeks), middle pregnant stage(16-22 weeks)and late pregnant stage (37-42 weeks). The levels of HGF were detected by enzyme - linked immunosorbent assay. Objective To explore the influnce on the endothelin-1 (ET-1) and clinical application value of continuous blood purification (CBP) on the treatment of severe craniocerebral injury with the neurogenic pulmonary edema (NPE).Methods All data about sixty patients with NPE were prospectively studied.These 60 patients were randomly (random number) divided into control group (n =30) and treatment group (n =30).In control group,patients were rapidly given with lowering intracranial pressure,mechanical ventilation,calming,antibiotic therapy and so on.In the treatment group,patients received CBP integrated with routine treatment.On admission and 72 h posttreatment,ET-1,static lung compliance and oxygenation index were observed.Time of mechanical ventilation support,incidence rates of multipal organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) were compared between two groups.The paired t-test was used for the amount data within the group.Chi-square was used for the constitute ratio and incidence ratio of the each relevant information.P ＜ 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results Compared to the control group,the level of ET-1 was decreased significantly in the treatment group [(48 ± 10) ng/L vs.(85 ± 14) ng/L] after 72 h post-treatment,while static lung compliance [(60.9 ± 2.3) mL/cmH2O vs.(31.4 ±4.8) mL/cmH2O] and oxygenation index [(317 ± 11) mmHg vs.(192 ± 14) mmHg] increased significantly (P ＜ 0.05).In treatment group and control group,the time of respirator intervention were [(6.0 ± 2.1) d vs.(11 ± 3.2) d],and the statistical significance was shown (P ＜ 0.05).Compared to the control group [56.7％ (17/30)],incidence rate of MODS [20.0％ (6/30)] was lower in treatment group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions CBP combined with routine treatment,which can remove ET-1 effectively,improve oxygenation,reduce the time of mechanical ventilation support and incidence rate of MODS.

Objective To study the mRNA expression of HS1-associated protein X-1(Hax-1),an an- ti-apoptosis genc,in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC)of patients with systemic lupus erythe- matosus(SLE),and further investigate the roles and significance of Hax-1 in the pathogenesis of SLE.Meth- ods Generation of longer cDNA fragments from serial analysis of gene expression(SAGE)tags for gene identi- fication(GLGI)was applied to identify the gene Hax-1 according to the Long SAGE tag.Then reverse tran- scription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)technique was used to semiquantitatively analyze mRNA ex- pressions of Hax-1 in PBMC from 34 active SLE patients and 25 healthy subjects.Results Compared with healthy controls,there was significant difference between SLE patients in the active stage and the normal controls(Z=-4.556,P＜0.01).The average level of mRNA expression in active SLE group was higher than that in healthy controls.Significant difference was found between the group with mild SLE and either the moderate or the severe one(P＜0.01).Conclusion The mRNA expression level of Hax-1 in active SLE group increase markedly,and to some extent,it is related to the activity of SLE.This provides a valuable basis for the further study on the role of apoptosis in SLE.

Human ScFv against botulinum neurotoxin serotype A(BoNTa) was modified by fusing human IgG1 Fc to C terminal of ScFv. ScFv-Fc fusion protein was expressed at high level over 30% of total host cell proteins in E.coli. Recombinant protein existed in inclusion body form. Renatured ScFv-Fc was purified to 90%~95% by Protein G Sepharose column. In vitro ScFv-Fc could bind specific to toxiod BoNTa in ELISA. Recombinant ScFv-Fc had similar relative affinity to parent ScFv and had improved stability.

Objective Using the objective detection devices to explore the physical activity status in order to provide evidence reated to the physical activity intervention program on child obesity in elementary students.Methods Subjects were elementary students from grades 1-5 of 4 schools in Haidian and Dongcheng districts,Beijing.After measuring their height and weight,an motion sensor was applied to measure physical activities in these 379 pupils.Results Time on moderate to vigorous physical activities (MVPA) among pupils was 74.09 min and the ratio of meeting the recommended time of physical activity was 68.9％.The MVPA time in males (79.46 min) was more than that in females (66.07 min) (P＜0.05),with the ratio of meeting the recommended physical activity time in males (78.0％) also larger than that in females (55.3％) (P＜0.05).There was no significant difference between low age group and high age group (P＞0.05),however,there showed significant difference in light physical activity time among the normal group,overweight group and the obese group (P＜0.05).However,there was no significant difference found in MVPA time among the three groups (P＞ 0.05).Conclusion The ratio of meeting the recommend physical activity time was low.MVPA time should be increased to guarantee the athletic effects and to improve the health stutas in the pupils.

Objective To study the daily physical activity patterns of pupils in Beijing, and to identify the association between the socioeconomic status (SES) and physical activities. Methods 1502 pupils were recruited from 2-5 grades of eight primary schools in Beijing. Information on physical activity, sedentary activity, and transportation styles inside and outside schools were collected using a "7-day physical activity questionnaire". Results Gymnastics, running, playing games, walking in queues etc. Were the most common activities at school, with the proportion as 94.13%, 85.55%, 77.26%, and 71.32% respectively. Physical labor, playing games, running and walking were the common activities outside schools, with the proportion as 72.14%, 69.70%,65.05%, and 64.64% respectively. However, pupils seldom participated in the ball games. Significant differences between SES groups were observed on the patterns of both physical and sedentary activities. Compared to low-SES pupils, high-SES pupils more frequently participated in dancing, walking upstairs or downstairs, swimming, skating, but less frequently (P＜0.05) in walking, rope skipping, kicking shuttlecock or rubber band skipping. Conclusion Data from our study showed that both the quantity and the distribution of different activities did not meet the need of the Chinese children. Physical activity in association with SES was also demonstrated.

Objective:To investigate the effects of Rad50-targeted inhibition on the radiosensitivity of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cells.Methods:Rad50 in Tca8113 and OSCC-15 cells was down-regulated by siRNA.Then the cells were treated by a small dose of radiation(2 Gy),Western blot was used to detect the expression of Rad50 protein.Comet assay was used to evaluate the DNA double strand breaks(DSBs).Colony survival assay was performed to detect the survival rate of the cells.Telomere FISH was performed to assess the telomere length in the cells.Results:Target siRNA inhibited Rad50 protein expression in Tca8113 and OSCC-15 cells. siRNA combined with the radiation of 2 Gy produced more DSBs,decreased the proliferation and shortened the nucleus telomere length of the cells more than radiation treatment alone.Conclusion:The targeted inhibition of Rad50 may increase the radiosensitivity of Tca8113 and OSCC-15 cells.
