1.ANALYSIS OF FIVE KINDS OF TRACE ELEMENTS IN THE HAIR OF UNKNOWN CAUSAL HYPOPHYRENIC CHILDREN IN CRETINISM AREA
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(03):-
Five kinds of trace elements (Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Pb) in the hair of unknown causal hypophrenic children and normal children in the cretinism area (Cailiang Township, Ankang County, Shaanxi Province) were determined. The results indicate that the content of Mn Pb and the ratio of Cu to Zn in hypophrenic children's hair are both higher than those in the normal children's hair. It is suggested by this experiment that the main causation of hypophrenia in this area may be a lower content of zine, higher content of M auganese and higher Cu/Zn ratio.
2.Complexity analysis of electroencephalogram in patients with Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment
Chinese Journal of Neurology 2013;46(10):687-691
Objective To investigate the Lemple-Zie complexity (LZC) characteristics in patients with Alzheimer' s disease(AD),mild cognitive impairment(MCI) and normal elderly, and the possibility of differentiating AD,MCI and normal elderly by LZC.Methods Electroencephalogram (EEG) of 30 AD patients,30 MCI patients and 20 normal elderly with eyes closed in rest state were recorded. In acquired EEG data,2048 points(10.14 s)of each channel were selected for LZC calculation by Matlab 7.0 software. Results (1) The average LZC values in AD,MCI and control groups were 0.396 ± 0.036,0.470 ±0.051,0.523 ±0.055 respectively. As compared with control group, the values in AD and MCI groups were decreased (F =43.092,P =0.000).(2) LZC values of AD in all channels (from 0.373 ± 0.042 to 0.430 ±0.083),whole brain, bilateral hemispheres, frontal and temporal areas were significantly lower than those in the normal group (from 0.498 ± 0.067 to 0.566 ± 0.059 ; t =3.602-8.747,P =0.000-0.010),and showed the significant decline(> 23%)in bilateral anterior middle temporal, frontal areas, the left parietal area.(3) Except the T6 channel,LZC values of AD groups in the remaining channels(from 0.373 ±0.042 to 0.418±0.063),the whole brain, bilateral hemispheres, frontal and temporal areas were significantly lower than those in the MCI group(from 0.455 ± 0.072 to 0.489 ± 0.063 ; in T5 channel,t =2.038,P =0.041,the others t=4.178-7.424,all P=0.000).(4) LZC values of MCI groups in the whole brain, bilateral hemispheres, temporal areas, parietal areas, the left frontal area were notably lower than those in the control group. Conclusions With the decline of the cognitive function, the EEG complexity value shows the parallel change. It suggests that the EEG complexity value can reflect the change of brain function in the duration from normal age to dementia in some degree; The MCI patients with abnormal LZC values in temporal and frontal lobes have a certain degree relation with the occurrence of AD.
3.The psychometric characteristics of Neonatal Oral-motor Assessment Scale in clinical practice
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2013;(9):1-4
Objective To examine the psychometric characteristics of the Neonatal Oral-motor Assessment Scale (NOMAS) and the influence of evaluation time on assessment results of oral motor skills for preterm infants, and to provide advice for the application of oral-motor assessment in clinic practice. Methods Following Palmer's method,a video recording was made for the preterm infants at different age during the first 2 min of nutritive sucking(NS).We stored the recordings on a digital videodisc and two NOMAS assessors assessed each recording. Results The NOMAS had acceptable internal consistency for less than 35 weeks' PMA (postmenstrual age).Moderate correlation were found between scores on the NOMAS and feeding performance for less than 35 weeks' PMA (normal sucking r=0.58,sucking disorder r=-0.61).The NOMAS demonstrated low responsiveness to changes in oral-motor skill in a week period, ranging from 33 to 36 weeks' PMA (SRM=0.02~0.49).The NOMAS scores for evaluating 30 seconds and 2 minutes were not consistent, the former scores was higher. Conclusions The reliability and validity of NOMAS were acceptable in assessing the oral-motor function of preterm infants for less than 35 weeks' PMA.The evaluation time of NOMAS was suitable for 2 min.
4.Expression of Wnt-β-catenin signaling pathway in kidney repair following ischemia reperfusion injury
Chinese Journal of Nephrology 2011;27(1):46-50
Objective To observe the change of Wnt-β-catenin signaling's location and expression in kidney repair after acute kidney injury induced by ischemla reperfusion (I/R).Methods Ischemia reperfusion injury in BAT-gal reportor mice was made and blood sample was taken from tails on the 1th day after injury. Mice were sacrified on the 2th or 7th day and kidneys and blood were collected. Renal pathological change was observed by PAS stain. The changes of location and expression of Wnt-β-catenin signaling were detected by immunofluorescence costainning X-gal-LTL, X-gal-NKCC2, X-gal-DBA respectively. The protein expressions of the Wnt4 and co-receptor Lrp6 were assessed by Western blotting. Results PAS-stained kidney sections showed desquamative or flattened epithelia, necrotic debris on day 2 and regenerating tubules on day 7. An injury-induced enhancement of the Wnt pathway response (X-gal staining) in kidney cortex and out-medulla. Immunolabelling of kidney sections from injured BAT-gal mice revealed that X-gal staining was detected in kidney epithelial cells (double-labelled with LTL or NKCC2). Western blotting showed the Wnt4 protein was up-regulated and phospho-Lrp6, indicative of active canonical Wnt signaling, was noted in kidney cortex from day 2 after I/R, but in control kidney cortex pLrp6 was not detected. Conclusion Wnt-β-catenin signaling is activited after acute kidney I/R injury and is required for tubular epithelial repair and regeneration following kidney I/R injury.
5.Polypeptide drugs for oral administration with nanoparticles as carriers:current situation, existing problems and developmental prospects
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(25):4091-4095
BACKGROUND:The new formulation and preparation technology of new drugs have become a hot spot for improving the utilization of polypeptides. In particular, the development of nanotechnology in recent years has promoted the clinical application of polypeptide drugs. OBJECTIVE:To review the current research of nanoparticles as carriers of polypeptide drugs for oral administration. METHODS:A computer-based search of CNKI database and SCI database was performed for relevant articles published from 1996 to 2014 by using the keywords of“protein, peptide drugs, nanoparticles, oral administration”in Chinese and English, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The encapsulation efficiency, release rate of drug delivery, stability of nanoparticles in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrability of the intestinal mucosa are determined by many factors, such as the kind, size, surface charge and modification of nanoparticles. The nanoparticles can increase the stability of protein drugs and improve the bioavailability of drugs. The targeting property of the nanoparticles can decrease the adverse reactions of some drugs. The release effect of the nanoparticles can decrease the dosage of drugs and increase the drug circulating time. However, there are stil many problems to be solved in nanotechnology:the activities of some protein drugs are lost in the preparation process;theencapsulation efficiency and drug loading need to be improved;protein burst release cannot be solved completely;the mass production of nanoparticles is stil difficult.
