1.Effect of Integrated Chinese-Western Therapy on Shoulder-hand Syndrome after Stroke

Objective To observe the effect of Integrated Chinese-Western Therapy on shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke. Methods 80 stroke patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke were randomly divided into the treating group (n=40) and the control group (n=40). The patients in the treating group accepted occupational therapy and infrared therapy at the acupoints with Flos Carthami Alcohol. The control group accepted occupational therapy only. Results The treating group soothed more pain and improve their ability of motor and daily living. Conclusion Infrared therapy with Flos Carthami Alcohol can facilitate the effects of occupational therapy on should-hand syndrome after stroke.
2.Effect of Scalp Acupuncture plus Real-time Cognitive Training on Cerebral Blood Flow in Alzheimer Disease Patients

Objective To investigate the effect of scalp acupuncture plus real-time cognitive training on cerebral blood flow in Alzheimer disease patients with cognitive disorder.Methods One hundred Alzheimer disease patients with cognitive disorder were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 50 cases each. Both groups received treatment for the primary disease. In addition, the treatment group received scalp acupuncture plus real-time cognitive training and the control group took Ginkgo leaf extract tablets. Mean flow velocity (Vm) in the left vertebral artery (LVA), right vertebral artery (RVA) and middle cerebral artery (MCA) were measured using transcranial Doppler in the two groups of patients before and after three months of treatment.Results There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in LVA, RVA and MCA Vm in the two groups (P<0.01). There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in LVA, RVA and MCA Vm between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05).Conclusions Scalp acupuncture plus real-time cognitive training can improve cerebral circulation and increase cerebral blood flow in Alzheimer disease patients with cognitive disorder.
3.Determination of protopine and tetrahydropalmatine in Corydalis Decumbens (Thunb.) Pers. by HPLC

Objective:To establish the content determination method of the main alkaloids protopine and tetrahydropalmatine in Corydalis decumbens (Thunb.) Pers. Methods: HPLC was used to determinate the main alkaloids protopine and tetrahydropalmatine in Corydalis decumbene (Thunb.) Pers. Supelcosil LC 18 DB Column was used, mobile phase consisted of Methol NaAc/HAc(75∶25 pH5.0) and detection wavelength at UV 285 nm. Results: Linearity of this method was good with the average recoveries, 98.04% and 99.63%. Conclusion: This method is accurate, reliable with good separability and reproducibility, it can be applied as standard for the control of Corydalis decumbens (Thunb.) Pers.
4.In vivo comparison of estradiol metabolism in liver microsomes of human, Beagle dog and rat.

The inter-species differences of estradiol metabolism were investigated in human, Beagle dog and rat liver microsomes by comparing enzyme kinetics of parent drug and the formation of its major metabolites. The incubation systems of estradiol with liver microsomes of the three species were optimized in terms of estradiol concentration, microsomal protein content and incubation time. The concentrations of estradiol and its metabolites were measured by LC-MS/MS method. The t1/2, CLint, CLh, Km and Vmax of estradiol incubated with male human liver microsomes were 40.02 +/- 8.32 min, 41.39 +/- 6.57 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 13.81 +/- 12.36 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 26.8 +/- 6.99 micromol x L(-1) and 0.75 +/- 0.92 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), respectively. The corresponding parameters of female human were 44.71 +/- 10.21 min, 29.85 +/- 8.97 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 0.01 +/- 0.68 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 44.2 +/- 7.73 micromol x L(-1) and 1.27 +/- 4.41 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), that of male dog were 21 +/- 7.33 min, 165.53 +/- 29.33 mL x min(-1) xkg(-1), 26.01 +/- 8.39 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 19.5 +/- 7.34 micromol x L(-1) and 1.6 +/- 0.65 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), that of female dog were 25.5 +/- 5.32 min, 135.11 +/- 42.34 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 0.24 +/- 3.18 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 8.33 +/- 6.32 micromol x L(-1) and 0.51 +/- 2.15 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), that of male rat were 5.11 +/- 3.84 min, 485.63 +/- 36.52 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 49.57 +/- 15.29 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 62 +/- 13.74 micromol x L(-1) and 19.16 +/- 9.67 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), and that of female rat were 7.0 +/- 3.69 min, 354.82 +/- 33.33 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 8.04 +/- 3.23 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 35.38 +/- 7.65 micromol x L(-1) and 8.39 +/- 4.91 micromol x L(-1) min(-1), respectively. There were nine metabolites detected from all the three species, but the relative amounts of the metabolites generated were different in three species. The results indicted that the major phase I metabolic pathway of estradiol was similar in the liver microsomes from all the three species. However, the inter-species differences were found in the view of relative amounts of the metabolites as well as the metabolic characteristics of estradiol in liver microsomal incubation.
5.Clinical evaluation of ostium secundum ASD treatment via one -stop hybrid and classical surgical procedures

Objective To investigate clinical effect and safety of ostium secundum atrial septal defect(ASD) treatment via one -stop hybrid and classical surgical procedures.Methods 45 patients were diagnosed ostium secun-dum simple ASD by ultrasound cardiogram and clinical manifestation,they were divided into one -stop hybrid proce-dure group (n =20)and classical surgical procedure (n =25).Age,gender,weight,post operation hospital day,on -pump time,blood transfusion amount,drainage flow,incision length and incidence of complication between the two groups were compared.Results Age and weight had no difference between the two groups(t =0.40 and 1.64,P >0.05),but the proportion of female cases in one -stop hybrid procedure group was higher than post operation(χ2 =9.45,P <0.05).Hospital day was shorter(t =11.11,P <0.05),drainage amount was fewer(t =81.68,P <0.05), incision length(t =22.51,P <0.05)was shorter.Incidence of complication had no statistically significant difference between the two groups(χ2 =0.35,P >0.05).And one -stop hybrid procedure group was off -pump without blood transfusion.Conclusion One -stop hybrid procedure was simple,could make a quick recovery post operation and was an ideal method for ostium secundum ASD treatment.
6.Small interfering RNA targeting vascular endothelial growth factor gone inhibits proliferation of gallbladder cancer cells: An in vitro and in vivo experiment

BACKGROUND: Previous studies demonstrated that proliferation of cancer cells can be inhibited via RNA interference on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). However, few studies report RNA interference on the expression of VEGF in gallbladder carcinoma, OBJECTIVE: To design and screen shRNA targeting VEGF, and to observe the effect of small interfering RNA targeting on proliferation of gallbladder cancer cells. METHODS: The VEGF-shRNA fragment was synthetized and connected with pCYU6/GFP/Neo-shRNA plasmid vector, shRNA was transfected into gallbladder cancer cells. The gallbladder carcinoma models of nude mice were prepared and randomly divided into blank control, negative control and experimental groups, With 6 animals in each group. ShRNA was injected into tumor. Cell growth was detected by fluorescence microscope MTT. The RNA interference efficiency was examined by fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR. Changes of tumor volume were also observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Gallbladder cancer cells ware shrunk with round shapes and a part of cells were dead after RNA interference on VEGF. shRNA-VEGF1 and shRNA-VEGF2 could signiticently inhibit mRNA gene expression of VEGF, the inhibition ratio was 86% and 82%, respectively. The tumor volume of the experimental group was smaller than the other groups, with slowly growth (P < 0.05). No obvious changes were found in the blank control and negative control groups. The constructed hVEGF-shRNA vector markedly decreases VEGF gene expression and inhibits cellular proliferation, eventually, to treat gallbladder cancer.

The study of the biological effects about nano-biomaterials can facilitate the understanding of the interaction between the biomaterials and the organism, and provide research ideas and direction to construct new biomaterials with physiological function. To better understand the interaction of nano biomaterials with protein, cells and bio-security, this review presents recent advances of biological effects about nano scaffold for bone tissue engineering.

9.The preventive effect of twin-tube laryngeal mask airway on gastric lavage and inhalation pneumonia in patients with toxic coma

Objective To explore the preventive effect of twin-tube laryngeal mask airway on gastric lavage and aspiration pneumonia. Methods Between January 2015 and June 2017, 305 cases of poisoning coma patients were admitted to Emergency Department, The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University. According to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, 255 cases of poisoning coma patients were enrolled and randomly(random number) divided into 3 groups (n=85 in each group):group A (normal gastric lavage machine method), group B (gastric lavage endotracheal intubation), and group C (gastric lavage twin-tube laryngeal mask airway placement). Whether there was aspiration pneumonia within 12 hours after the onset was observed, and the length of hospital stay, hospitalization cost and mortality were recorded. The mean value of the two samples was compared with t test, and the four-grid data were checked by chi-square test. P<0.05 was statistically significant. Results Compared with group A, the incidence of aspiration pneumonia was significantly lower in group B and group C (group A 56.47%, group B 32.94%, group C 23.53%, P<0.01). Compared with group A, the length of hospital stay in group C was shorter [(3.39±2.12) d vs. (6.06±4.91) d,P<0.05], and the hospitalization cost was less [(25687.52±20803.44) yuan vs. (52213.91±37267.56)yuan,P<0.05]. There was no significant difference of mortality between the three groups (P>0.05).Compared with group B, the length of hospital stay in group C was shorter [(3.39±2.12) d vs.(5.51±4.37) d, P<0.05], and the hospitalization cost was less [(25687.52±20803.44)yuan vs.(50887.82±32399.76) yuan, P<0.05]. There was no significant difference of mortality between the three groups (P>0.05). Conclusions Twin-tube laryngeal mask airway for poisoning coma patients with gastric lavage, can not only ensures effective ventilation, but also reduces the probability of concurrent aspiration pneumonia, shortens hospital stay, and reduces hospitalization cost, but has no obvious effect on mortality.
