Objective By using multi detector row spiral CT (MDCT), to investigate the CT imaging features of inflammatory diseases in retroperitoneal space with correlation of radiological anatomy. Methods The clinical and laboratory dada of 30 patients with proven inflammatory diseases of retroperitoneal space were collected. All patients underwent MDCT plain scanning and portal venous acquisition. CT imaging data generated at portal venous phase were processed with coronal, sagittal and oblique multi planar reformation (MPR) technique. Results Acute pancreatitis and various types of renal infection were the two main sources of retroperitoneal inflammation. Depending on the specific anatomic locations, retroperitoneal inflammation of different subspaces demonstrated characteristic imaging features. Spreading of inflammatory process across subspaces was also quite common. Conclusion MDCT is the imaging method of choice to depict comprehensively and clearly the inflammatory diseases of various retroperitoneal spaces.

Objective To study the expression and clinical significance of BRCA1 and BRCA2 in sporadic breast cancer in women of Jiaodong peninsula. Methods Immunohistochemistry and tissue array were used to detect the expression of BRCA1 and BRCA2 in 100 cases of sporadic breast cancer and 30 cases of benign breast tumor in women of Jiaodong peninsula. Results ① The expression rate of BRCA1 and BRCA2 was 49% (49/100) and 50% (50/100) in breast cancer, 80% (24/30) and 83.33% (25/30) in benign breast lesions respectively. The expression rate of BRCA1 and BRCA2 in breast cancer was lower than that in benign breast lesions (P<0.05). ② The expression of BRCA1 and BRCA2 was uncorrelated with factors such as tumor size, lymphatic metastases, age and menopause or not(P>0.05). ③ There was no dependency between the expression of BRCA1 and BRCA2 (P> 0. 05). Conclusions The expression rate of BRCA1 and BRCA2 in breast carcinoma in women of Jiaodong peninsula was lower than that in benign breast lesions, suggesting that the expression of BRCA1 and BRCA2 was related to the occurrence of sporadic breast carcinoma in women of Jiaodong peninsula. However, the role of BRCA1 and BRCA2 in the genesis and development of the breast carcinoma is independent.
5.Study on the regulative rule of reinforcing shen principle on sexual precocity and senescence at the molecular level.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2005;25(6):549-551
The imbalance of Shen-yin and Shen-yang is a common pathological basis of sexual precocity and senescence. Senescence can be regarded as physiological Shen-deficiency, which is mainly the deficiency of Shen-Yang, while the essence of sexual precocity is hyperactivity of Fire due to Yin-deficiency, and deficiency of Shen-Yin is the predominance in the imbalance. The process of growth, development, maturing and aging led by Shen-qi, is mainly involving the hypothalamus-pituitary-growth hormone axis and sexual gland axis. Early initiation of these two axes appears in sexual premature children, manifesting syndrome of Fire hyperactivity due to Yin-deficiency, while in senescence, the decline of the axes appears ahead of time and manifests syndrome of Yang qi consumption. It has been shown in experimental and clinical researches that significantly good effects could be obtained by applying Chinese recipe for warmly reinforcing Shen-Yang to postpone senescence and recipe for nourishing Yin and removing Fire to inhibit sexual precocity. It also been proved by determining syndrome and speculating the damaged site according to the effects of drug that the pathologic damage of sexual precocity and senescence is sited on the hypothalamus or higher center.

6.Studies of gene networks and singal transduction of kidney deficiency syndrome by syndrome differentiation through drug effects.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2005;25(12):1125-1128
Three kinds of networks were summarily described in this review including the small intracellular molecular networks, the middle-scale networks of hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal-thymus (HPAT) axis and the large network, neuroendocrine-immune (NEI) network, covering the whole organism and linking multiple systems together. The hypothesis was expressed that the "disease" or "syndrome" formed in the human body by the intervention from outside world is based on the changes of multi-molecular network. In this paper, the pattern and ability of signal transduction channel and the methods of studying changes in it were also described, and raised, herefrom, "to determine syndrome by drug effects (DSDE)" is the intervention means for studying syndrome in the light of systemic biological methods. We found Kidney-yang deficiency syndrome covered the NEI network and the regulating center located in hypothamus with Compound Bushen Recipe (CBR, Kidney-tonifying recipe). By intervention with EF, an effective component of CBR, it was found that EF can activate the immune system and the three networks, including growth axis, sex hormone axis and lymphocyte apoptosis network in HPAT axis through the downward pathway of NEI network to play its efficiency of molecular network. There are many regulation patterns of EF on networks. For example, in the network mechanism of lymphocyte apoptosis and proliferation, EF can reconstruct the balance of the opposite apoptosis related genes and proliferation related genes; EF can assemble and integrate co-stimulating molecules, transform growth factors (TGF), and several oncogenes to form an upstream factor network for initiating the proliferation and anti-apoptosis promotion; EF can simultaneously up-regulate the two opposite genes expression of IkappaB and NFkappaB in NIK/IKK/IkappaB/Rel/NFkappaB signal transduction channel, which could not only control the rising of NFkappaB in a moderate range, but also guarantee its predominant status to exert its hinge role in molecule regulating network, by which gene network regulation atlas in HPAT axis of Kidney-deficiency syndrome was observed.

7.An outstanding feature of traditional Chinese medicine: improving local pathology by regulating holistic function.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2006;26(12):1122-1125
Holistic conception reflects that "Syndrome" summarizes all aspects and conditions related to occurrence of disease referring to different constitutions. "Treatment according to syndrome differentiation" improves local pathological changes through regulating holistic function, which is the practical application of holistic conception and an outstanding feature of TCM. According to syndrome differentiation, treatment shows favorable effects on local pathological changes as restenosis after coronary artery intervention therapy, excessive inflammation, vascular endothelial injury in coronary artery disease and hypoadrenocortical function with drugs for promoting blood to remove blood stasis, clearing heat and detoxifying toxin, and warming Shen-yang, and aromatic drugs for warming meridian to dredge obstruction.

8. Mechanism of LMO3 in tumor metastasis
International Journal of Surgery 2019;46(10):705-708
The LIM domains proteins are of significance proteins of human tumors. LMO3, a member of LIM-only subclass of LIM proteins, participates in the occurrence and development in many kinds of tumors, including neuroblastoma, meningioma, lung cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma, etc. LMO3 functions as interacting with neuronal transcription factor, HUA enhancer 2, interacting with upstream gene and inhibits its transcriptional activity or directly interacting with gene signaling. As an incomparable role in processes of tumors, LMO3 contributes to huge opportunities for therapeutic targeting for the future of the field. This article focuses on the molecular mechanism of LMO3 in the process of tumor development and metastasis, and reviews its recent progress.

Objective: To investigate immunohistochemical patterns of CXorf67 and H3K27me3 proteins in central nervous system germ cell tumors (GCTs) and to assess their values in both diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Methods: A total of 370 cases of central nervous system GCTs were collected from 2013 to 2020 at Huashan Hospital of Fudan University, Shanghai, China. The expression of CXorf67, H3K27me3 and commonly-used GCT markers including OCT4, PLAP, CD117, D2-40, and CD30 by immunohistochemistry (EnVision method) was examined in different subtypes of central nervous system GCTs. The sensitivity and specificity of each marker were compared by contingency table and area under receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results: Of the 370 cases there were 282 males and 88 females with a mean age of 19 years and a median age of 17 years (range, 2-57 years). Among the GCTs with germinoma, the proportions of male patients and the patients with GCT located in sellar region were both higher than those of GCTs without germinoma (P<0.05), respectively. CXorf67 was present in the nuclei of germinoma and normal germ cells, but not in other subtypes of GCT. H3K27me3 was negative in germinoma, but positive in the nuclei of surrounding normal cells and GCTs other than germinoma. In the 283 GCTs with germinoma components, the expression rate of CXorf67 was 90.5% (256/283), but no cases were positive for H3K27me3. There was also an inverse correlation between them (r2=-0.831, P<0.01). The expression rates of PLAP, OCT4, CD117 and D2-40 were 81.2% (231/283), 89.4% (253/283), 73.9% (209/283) and 88.3% (250/283), respectively. In 63 mixed GCTs with germinoma components, the expression rate of CXorf67 was 84.1% (53/63), while all cases were negative for H3K27me3. The expression rates of PLAP, OCT4, CD117 and D2-40 were 79.4% (50/63), 79.4% (50/63), 66.7% (42/63) and 87.3% (55/63), respectively. The 6 markers with largest area under ROC curve in ranking order were H3K27me3, CXorf67, D2-40, OCT4, PLAP and CD117 (P<0.05). Conclusions: CXorf67 and H3K27me3 have high sensitivity and high specificity in diagnosing germinoma. There is a significant inverse correlation between them. Therefore, they can both be used as new specific immunohistochemical markers for the diagnosis of GCTs.
