Journal of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;34(3):317-320
Objective To explore the correlation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome types of hypertension with carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT) and plasma lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2),so as to provide a TCM therapy for early prevention and treatment of hypertension and its complications in clinic. Methods We collected a total of 170 cases of hypertension patients,55 with kidney-essence insufficiency syndrome,50 with ascendant hyperactivity of liver yang syndrome, and 65 with phlegm-damp retention in middle energizer syndrome.IMT was measured by the carotid Doppler ultrasound, and plasma Lp-PLA2 expression was examined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. And then the differences of IMT and Lp-PLA2 expression among the three groups were compared and analyzed. Results There were significant differences of carotid artery IMT and Lp-PLA2 among the three groups(P< 0.01),and the number of patients with carotid atherosclerosis and the expression level of Lp-PLA2 in the group of phlegm-damp retention in middle energizer syndrome were higher than those intheothertwogroups(P<0.01).Conclusion Differentiation treatment based on phlegm may be more conducive to the prevention and treatment of hypertension and its complications.
2.Relationship between Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-3 and Occult Metastasis in Early-Stage Tongue Cancer
Tianjin Medical Journal 2010;38(3):207-208,后插1
Objective:To detect the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3(VEGFR-3)in earlystage tongue cancer and the relationship with occult metastasis thereof. Methods:The expression of VEGFR-3 was examined in paraffin-embedded specimens from 62 patients with early-stage tongue cancer by immunohistochemical staining. The relationship was analyzed between the expression of VEGFR-3 and size, occult metastasis and differentiation of early-stage tongue cancer. Results:The positive expression of VEGFR-3 mainly located in the lymphatic endothelial cells of peritumoral areas and negative expression in tumor area. The higher expression of VEGFR-3 was found in patients with occult metastasis. The expression of VEGFR-3 was significantly higher in patients of Ⅱ-Ⅲ grade than that of patients in I grade carcinoma(t=4.77,P < 0.05).The expression of VEGFR-3 was higher in patients with occult metastasis than that in patients with negative lymph node(t=6.33,P < 0.05).But there were no significant correlation between the expression of VEGFR-3 and the age, gender and size of tumor in patients. Conclusion:The value of VEGFR-3 can be a useful indicator to evaluate the occult metastasis of early-stage tongue cancer.

Cancer is a serious threat to human health at present,so it is an important task in the medical field to overcome it.The first step is to recognize cancer.Metaphor is a universal cognitive mode. This paper analyzed the metaphorical phenomenon which the tumor growth process was described as plant growth. The results showed that in modern medicine, growth pattern, tumor shape characteristics, growth velocity and diffusion were using plant metaphors to illustrate.Tumor growth is the growth of stems and leaves of plants, plant root growth, plant fruit growth, plant growth in four seasons, special types of plant growth. The tumor metastasis is the seed spreading of the plant. The result implied that tumor in modern medicine was a metaphorical cognition of plants. This metaphor showed the vitality of tumor.
6.Construction of Core Concept of Five Organs in Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine by Word Frequency Analysis
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;19(9):1511-1516
Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine laid the basic framework of the core view of five organs in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory system. In this paper,we used the methods of word frequency analysis and corpus analysis to conduct the quantitative and qualitative research of the concept of “five organs” and its similar concepts in the Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine,so as to examine the motives, subjects and auxiliary conditions. The word frequency analysis showed that the five collections were a universal concept in the Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine. Its connotation has the difference between the whole and the individual. The qualitative analysis of the “five organs” contexts showed that the direction of the serious pathological state provided a strong motive for the core view of “five organs”.The physiological functions of “five organs” are extensive, that other human body functions either begin with them or end with them. The five organs as whole break through the many restrictions of the situation as they are individuals,so that the five organs as the core of the human body possess stronger cohesion. The text function of five organs also provided the evidence of being the body core. The concept of the five organs class is the evolution of the concept of five organs. Its function is to solidify the context to its meaning, and to enhance the five organs concept of identity.

AIM: To investigate the effect of sitagliptin on the autopaghy and the expression of extracellular matrix in mesangial cells induced by advanced glycation end products (AGEs).METHODS: The cells were divided into 5 groups: control group, AGE group, and sitagliptin (5, 10 and 20 μmol/L) groups. After 48 h, the cell viability was measured by MTT assay, and the content of collagen (Col) Ⅳ in the supernatant of the cell culture was detected by ELISA.The protein levels of beclin-1, adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK), p-AMPK, p70S6K and p-p70S6K were determined by Western blot.RESULTS: Compared with control group, the viability and the expression of Col IV induced by AGEs in the cultured mesangial cells were significantly increased (P<0.01).Sitagliptin decreased the viability and the expression of Col IV induced by AGEs in the mesangial cells in a dose-dependent manner.AGEs significantly inhibited the protein levels of beclin-1 and p-AMPK, but significantly increased the protein level of p-p70S6K.Compared with AGE group, sitagliptin significantly reversed the above results in a dose-dependent manner.CONCLUSION: Autophagy may mediate the protective effect of sitagliptin on mesangial cells induced by AGEs.
