5.Research progress on pharmacogenomics of antiretroviral drugs
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2014;(7):889-892,893
AIDS has become a global disease, and a variety of drugs are used in the treatment of AIDS ,but the interindividual variabilities in efficacy and toxicity remain important limitations for the use of these drugs.Studies have shown genetic polymor-phism is the main reason for interindividual variabilities of drug reaction. In recent years, scholars focused on the pharmacog-enomics of anti-AIDS drugs and found that genetic polymor-phisms,in large part, determine the interindividual variabilities of the responese of these drugs. This paper reviews the research progress on pharmacogenomics of the four types of anti-AIDS drugs commonly used in China, including nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs),non-nucleoside reverse tran-scriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs),protease inhibitors (PIs)and integrase inhibitors (raltegravir).

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2001;0(03):-
Objective To investigate the value of CT and MRI in diagnosing facial nerve neuroma. Methods The CT and MRI findings of facial nerve neuroma proved by surgery and pathology in 6 cases were retrospectively analysed. Results Four of the six facial nerve neuroma only affected intratemporal segment of facial nerve (labyrinthine segment 1, tympanic segment 2, mastoid and tympanic segment 1), one involved the cerebellopontine angle(CPA) cistern, internal anditory canal(IAC) and intratemporal segment and last one involved both the intratemporal segment and the intraparotid gland segment. The imaging manifestations of the tumor depended on its location and extension. On CT, the tumors of intratemporal segment showed enlargement and destruction of facial nerve canal, soft tissue mass in the middle ear and /or in the mastoid, erosion of the aterior surface of the petrous bone at the level of the geniculate ganglion fossa, and extension to the middle cranial fossas and intraparotid gland. One neuroma arising from IAC and cisternal segments demonstrated a mass in the CPA, widening of the IAC, enlargement of the labyrinthine segment of the facial nerve canal, and extension to geniculate ganglion fossa by CT and MRI. Conclusion CT and MRI are accurate to describe the extent and location of facial nerve neuroma. CT is better to demonstrate the osseous destruction in detail, whereas enhanced MRI evaluates the tumor itself more accurately.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of hydrocortisone sodium succinate for treatment of septic shock patients and their prognoses. Methods A prospective case control study was conducted. 49 patients with septic shock in the Department of Emergency of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were enrolled from January 2010 to January 2012,and the patients were sequentially divided into two groups, the treatment group(24 cases)and the control group(25 cases),by the difference in odd or even number. All patients in the two groups accepted the conventional treatment. The treatment group additionally received hydrocortisone sodium succinate injection 200 mg,once a day for 5 days. The levels of serum procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP)were measured in all the patients before treatment and 24 hours,72 hours and 7 days after treatment. The mortalities were compared in 14 days between the two groups. Results The levels of PCT,CRP before and 24 hours after treatment were not statistically significant different from those of pre-treatment in two groups(all P>0.05). PCT and CRP were decreased at 72 hours and 7 days after treatment in the two groups, and on the 7th day the decline was more significant, and compared with the control group, the levels of PCT and CRP in treatment group were reduced more markedly at 72 hours and on the 7th day〔PCT(μg/L):72 hours 9.73±2.10 vs. 12.36±2.56,7 days 5.33±2.05 vs. 8.76±1.78;CRP(μg/L):72 hours 69.12±13.61 vs. 109.68±16.16,7 days 20.16±9.64 vs. 42.32±13.16,all P<0.05〕. But the mortality in 14 days was not statistically significant different between control group and treatment group(52.0%vs. 45.8%,P>0.05). Conclusion The treatment with hydrocortisone sodium succinate can reduce the inflammation of patients with septic shock, thus it has clinical value in the improvement of the disease situation.

The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory of "treating heart and brain diseases with same methods (Nao Xin Tong Zhi: NXTZ)" has great significance to the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. It has been proven effective by a great deal of clinical researches. However, the underlying mechanism for this theory is still unclear. To provide insights into the potential mechanism of "NXTZ", this study attempts to deeply investigate the mechanism from two representative cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, coronary heart disease (CHD) and cerebral apoplexy. First, various data resources were integrated to obtain different types of biomedical entities including drugs, targets, pathways and diseases. Then, three different approaches including text mining, biological network and enrichment analysis were utilized to recognize the potential common features between CHD and cerebral apoplexy, and the corresponding functions of drugs which could treat both diseases, thus unveiling the mechanism of NXTZ.

Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2011;27(4):64-66
Objective To explore the effect of multi-disciplinary management for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage treated with clipping surgery. Methods 123 subjects admitted to hospital in April 2005 to March 2007 and received traditional management were named as the control group.62 subjects in the control group who admitted to neurology department first and then transferred to neurosurgery when diagnosed as aSAH by DSA were named as the transfer group. 61 subjects who admitted to neurosurgery directly and diagnosed as aSAH by DSA were named as the surgery group. 101 subjects who received multidisciplinary management from April 2007 to March 2009 were named as the experimental group. The waiting time before DSA, waiting time before surgery, hospital stay and hospitalization costs were compared between the three groups. Results Compared with the transfer group and the surgery group, the experimental group was lower in waiting time before DSA, waiting time before surgery, hospital stay and hospitalization costs, but there is no significant difference between the three groups in postoperative neurological function score and incidence rate of complications. The mortality rate was not significantly higher in the experimental group than the transfer group, but was significantly lower than the surgery group. Conclusions Multi-disciplinary management can reduce the "inappropriate hospital stay" of aSAH patients for early surgery. It can reduce the average hospital stay, hospital cost, in order to reduce the burden on families and society.
