Objective To investigate the effect of nerve growth factor (NGF) on recuperate of optic nerve after contusion by clamping in adult rabbits. Methods Sixteen adult rabbits were randomly divided into NGF and the control group with 8 rabbits in each group. After the optic nerve of the right eyes was clamped, tissue engineering nerve containing (0.06 ml) NGF(concentration: 5?10~(-4) g/L, NGF group) and 0.06 ml of PBS (control group) was immediately transplanted into the injured eyes respectively, and 0.02 ml NGF(concentration: 5?10~(-4) g/L, NGF group)and 0.02 ml of PBS (control group) were injected into the vitreous of right eyes respectively. Flash visual evoked potential (FVEP) test was performed on the eyes 1 day, 2 weeks and 8 weeks after the injury. The number of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and changes of optic nerves were observed by light microscopy and electron microscopy at the 8th week after contusion, and a computer-image-analysis system was used to count the optic nerve axons. Results The ratio of amplitude of FVEP of the injured and healthy eyes was 0.765?0.150 in NGF group and 0.494?0.108 in the control at the 2th week after injury with a significant difference between the two groups (P

Objective To explore the effect of blended learning in practical training of acupuncture techniques. Methods Sophomores of acupuncture and Tuinaspeciality were divided into two groups based on classes, with 38 students in experimental group and 34 in control group, adopting blended learning and traditional method in teaching acupuncture techniques respectively.Blended learning mainly adopts mixed methods of both online "punch-card" on WeChat community and offline class learning.Post-test score of two groups were compared by independent samples t-test with SPSS 19.0.The teaching effect of blended learning was evaluated in students in experimental group by questionnaire survey. Results The total score of acupuncture techniques (4.73 ± 0.15) in experimental group were significantly higher than that of control group (4.27 ± 0.46) (t=5.588,P<0.01) and students' satisfaction concerning the blended learning in experimental group was up to 88% (22/25).Conclusion Blended learning can promote students' acupuncture skills and cultivate good study habits, making practice in class more targeted.More friendly online learning tools needs to be further developed.
4.Research progress on regulation of lncRNA in age-related ophthalmopathy
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2022;40(10):992-995
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is a class of transcripts longer than 200 nucleotides, which do not have the function of coding proteins.Widely involved in the progress of various human diseases, lncRNA has become a new research hotspot and the regulatory role of it has been paid more and more attention.Studies in recent years found that lncRNA is abnormally expressed in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and age-related cataract (ARC) compared with healthy individuals.LncRNA ZNF503-AS1, BANCR and MEG3 can play important roles in regulating function of retinal pigment epithelial cell, which can lead to the development of AMD.LncRNA MIAT, TUG1 and H19 can have important regulatory effects through competitive binding with microRNAs, thus affecting the occurrence and development of ARC.This article reviewed the research progress of lncRNA in the AMD and ARC related field, revealed the role of different lncRNAs in the diseases, provided a new perspective for elucidating the mechanism of the diseases and found a new biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases.
