Objective To explore the clinical effect of microendoscopic discectomy through posterior approach in old patients with multilevel lumber spinal stenosis and analyze the influence factors that related to clinical effect .Methods 64 old patients with multilevel lumber spinal stenosis were selected and divided into microendoscopic group and open group based on different operation method ,each group contained 32 patients .Comparison was made between two groups in respects of operation time ,amount of bleed-ing ,hospital time post-operation and Nakai scores .Analyzed the influence factors that related to clinical effect .Results The opera-tion time ,amount of bleeding ,hospital time post-operation in microendoscopic group were lower than open group ,the differences had statistical significance .Based on the Nakei score ,the curative effect in microendoscopic group was slightly lower than open group ,but the differences had no statistical significance .The JOA score pre-operation ,walking distances and complication were rela-tive factors that could influence the clinical effect of microendoscopic discectomy through posterior approach method .Conclusion Microendoscopic discectomy through posterior approach in old patients with multilevel lumber spinal stenosis had quicker postoper-ative recovery than conventional operation ,and the JOA score pre-operation ,walking distances and complication were relative fac-tors that could influence the clinical effect of microendoscopic discectomy through posterior approach method .

Objective:To establish a HPLC method for the determination of baicalin in Shangsuyu Spray.Methods:A Shim pack CLC ODS column was used. The mobile phase consisted of NH 4H 2PO 4 buffer (3.0) methanol (50∶50). The detective wavelength was 276nm.Results:The linear range was from 1.08 to 20.60?g/ml, r =0.9999. The recovery of the added sample was 100.5%. RSD was 2.5%. This method was easy to operate with accurate result, high sensitivity and good reproducibility.Conclusion:The method can be used for the determination of the contents of baicalin in Shangsuyu Spray.

Surgical site infection (SSI)following spinal surgery is the most common complications, which is devastating for both the patient and the surgeon.There is strong evidence in the literature that opti-mizing specific preoperative,intraoperative,and postoperative variables can significantly lower the risk of developing an SSI.Evidence-based approach will allow surgeons to minimize the risk of SSI and,therefore, significantly improve patient care.Here,we review the current evidence.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a RP-HPLC method to determine concentration of cefixime in human serum.ME_ THODS:The assay was conducted on Agilent ZORBAX?SB C 18 column with methanal-water-PBS(25∶15∶60,V/V/V)as mobile phase.The detection wavelength was270nm,and the acetanilide was taken as internal standard.RESULTS:The lin?earity range was0.11～5.28mg/L with a regressive equation of Y-0.07534X-0.13186,r=0.9995.The recovery was high.CONCLUSION:This method is accurate,rapid and simple and can be used for determining the concentration of cefixime in human serum.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of heart-regulating and mind-calming acupuncture on the expression of gap junction protein connexin43 (Cx43) in myocardial cells in a rabbit model of ventricular arrhythmia.MethodA rabbit model of ventricular arrhythmia was made by injecting barium chloride into the marginal ear vein. Forty New Zealand rabbits were randomized into control, model, acupuncture and medication groups. The acupuncture group received heart-regulating and mind-calming acupuncture[at Lingtai(GV10), Shendao(GV11), bilateral Neiguan(PC6)and Baihui(GV20)]and the medication group, oral gavage of propafenone. Rabbit left ventricle was taken after the completion of the experiment. Cx43 expressions were compared and analyzed usingan immunohistochemical staining technique and a computer image processing system.ResultCx43 expression decreased significantly in the model group compared with the control group (P<0.01) and increased in the acupuncture and medication groups compared with the model group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Cx43 expression between the acupuncture and medication groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Adjusting Cx43 expression in myocardial cells may be one of the target points for this acupuncture treatment of arrhythmia.
