1.An experimental study on effects of arsenic trioxide on port-site metastasis under carbon dioxide pneumoperitoneum in a murine model

Objective To study the influence of intraperitoneal instillation of arsenic trioxide (As_2O_3) on metastasis of hepatoma cell line H_22 under CO_2 pneumoperitoneum in mice. Methods The experiment included 40 Kunming mice (cleaning inbred strain). A 1 mm trocar was punctured through the middle abdomen, by which 1?106 tumor cells were administered. Pneumoperitoneum was established with carbon dioxide at the pressure of 8 mm Hg over 30 min. Afterwards, the mice were randomly divided into four groups with 10 mice in each group, receiving intraperitoneal instillation with one of the following: normal saline (1 ml), As_2O_3 (2 mg/kg, 1 ml), As_2O_3 (4 mg/kg, 1 ml), or As_2O_3 (4 mg/kg) with heparin (10 U/ml) (1 ml totally). Levels of CD_44 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were measured on the 3rd and 7th day after pneumoperitoneum, respectively. And the survival condition, abdominal circumference, body weight, and diameter of metastatic tumor were compared among the four groups.Results Compared with control group, significantly lower expressions of CD_44 and VEGF were observed the other three groups on the 3rd and 7th day after pneumoperitoneum (P
2.Multi-slice Spiral CT Diagnosis of Spondyloschisis

Objective To study multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT) manifestations of spondyloschisis.Methods 40 patients with spondyloschisis were examined with MSCT scan and 3D reconstruction.Results In the 40 cases,CT scans showed spondyloschisis of the lumbar in L_2(1/40),L_3(1/40),L_4(10/40),L_5 spondyloschisis of the lumbar in L_2(1/40),L_3(1/40),L_4(10/10),L_5(28/40).MSCT displayed:the ring-scission sign(100%),the pseudo-bulging of lumbar intervertebral disc and the elongated sign of spinal canal(95%),and the wavered sign of vertebral body(12.5%).The location,shape of spondyloschisis and the degree of spondylolisthesis were demonstrated by MSCT on multiplanar and 3D.Conclusion The ring-scission sign is the specific sign in diagnosing the spondyloschisis of the lumbar by MSCT.It is of significant value in the detection of spondyloschisis
3.Quality standard for Gusongbao Dispersible Tablets

AIM: To establish the quality standard of Gusongbao Dispersible Tablets(Herba Epimedii,Radix Dipsaci,Radix Pasoniae rubra,Rhizoma Chuanxiong,etc.) METHODS: Herba Epimedii,Radix Paeoniae rubra,Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Rhizoma Anemarrhenae were identified by TLC.Icariine content was determined by HPLC.C_18 column(ODS,4.6 mm?200 mm,5 ?m) as chromatographic column,acetonitrile-water(30∶70) as mobile phase,flow rate kept to 1.0 mL/min,detection wavelength at 270 nm,and under room temperature condition.The dissolubility test met with Chinese Pharmacopoeia for Icariine. RESULTS: The relevant spots in Herba Epimedii,Radix Paeoniae rubra,Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Rhizoma Anemarrhenae could be identified by TLC.The content of icariine can be determined by HPLC.The linearity of icariine was good in the range of 0.13-0.78 ?g(r=0.999 9).The average recovery of icariine was 98.90%,RSD=0.92%(n=6).Dissolubility test used for icariine coformed to homogeniety. CONCLUSION: The established quality standard is simple,feasible and repeatable,and can be used for quality control of Gusongbao Dispersible Tablets.
