Objective To study the role of cell apoptosis during the chemotherapy of human gliocytoma in order to get effective suvilliance on the effect of chemotherapy. Methods Gliocytoma cells were isolated and cultured from 40 human gliocytoma samples. Mitochondrial membrance potential (MMP), cell cycle, the level of Bcl-2 and Bax were detected by flow cytometry (FCM) at 24, 48, 72 hours respectively of incubation with Lomustine (CCNU) and Teniposide (VM-26), and the trends were also analysed. Results MMP decreased greatly, the apoptosis part in the cell cycle ananlysis increase, the expression level of Bcl-2 decreased, and that of Bax increase rapidly, while the Bcl-2/Bax ratio decreased. Conclusions CCNU and VM-26 have singnificant effect in gliocytoma chemotherapy on inducing gliocytoma cell apoptosis. VM-26 has more stronger effect on the cell cycle. MMP is the most sensitive and the fastest index in apoptosis detection.

Recent Advances in Ophthalmology 2018;38(3):242-246
Objective To measure the levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) in the aqueous humor of patients with acute primary angle-closure glaucoma (APACG),and its correlation with the patients' prognosis after trabeculectomy. Methods This retrospective case-control study included 19 patients with APACG who experienced a failed trabeculectomy (case group) and 57 age-and sex-matched patients with APAGG who underwent successful trabeculectomy (control group).Aqueous humor was collected before trabeculectomy for the detection of MCP-1 levels in the both groups by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. And finally, logistic regression analysis was applied to assess the risk factors for failed trabeculectomy. Results The MCP-1 concentration in aqueous humor was (5688.04 ± 2099.99)ng · L-1 in the case group and (2077.57 ± 568.44)ng · L-1 in the control group, and the difference between both groups were significant (P < 0.001).Logistic regression analysis revealed MCP-1 level (OR =1.005;95% CI =1.001-1.008) and a shallow anterior chamber after surgery (OR =31.430;95% CI =1.577-57.350) were the independent risk factors for failed trabeculectomy procedures. Conclusion MCP-1 levels in aqueous humor are higher in APACG eyes with failed trabeculectomy than those with successful one during 1-year follow-up,so MCP-1 level is considered as an independent risk factor for failed trabeculectomy.

Objective To explore the sero-prevalence and risk factors for herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2) infection and unprotected sexual behavior in an ethnically diverse population of HIVinfected subjects in a county of Yunnan province. Methods HIV-infected individuals attending for routine follow-up by local Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) were recruited to participate in the study under 'informed consent'. A face-to-face questionnaire interview was administered to each participant. Blood was drawn for HSV-2 testing by HerpeSelect HSV-2 ELISA (Focus Diagnostics) and CD4+ T counting. Results A total of 300 HIV-infected individuals participated in the study. The mean age of the subjects was 37.6 years with 76.7% as males. Ethnically, Han, Dai and Jingpo accounted for 44.3%, 37.3% and 16.0% of the sample, respectively. Half of the subjects reported HIV acquisition through injection drug use. The sero-prevalence of HSV-2 was 35.0%. Results from multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that individuals who acquired HIV through heterosexual contact were more likely to be HSV-2 positive than those who acquired HIV through injection drug use (OR=4.244,95%CI: 1.924-9.364),whereas Dai (OR=0.300,95% CI: 0.152-0.593) and Jingpo (OR=0.376, 95% CI: 0.167-0.850) were less likely to be HSV-2 positive than the Hans. Among 105 people who were co-infected with HIV/HSV-2, 60 had sexual intercourses in the past 3 months and 41.7% of them reported no or inconsistent use of condoms. Most unprotected sexual contacts occurred within married couples. Conclusion HSV-2 infection was highly prevalent among HIV-infected individuals in this county, and a significant proportion of HIV/HSV-2 co-infected subjects engaged in unprotected sex. HSV-2 testing, behavioral and biomedical interventions among HIV-infected individuals and their sexual partners should be involved in the local HIV prevention and control programs.

Chinese patent medicine with double identity was a special phenomenon, and many preparations not only were prescription drugs but also over the counter ( OTC) drugs, which brought a lot of trouble. Based on statistics of list of OTC medicines of CFDA, related varieties, route of administration and functions of these drugs were searched. The causes of insufficient were analyzed and the potential risk was investigated. To ensure the safety of drug usage for the patient, risk management system should be set up by improving the technical requirements for registration, improving the drug labels and manuals, playing the role of pharmacists in pharmacy services and raising awareness of doctor and patient for these drugs.

Objective To investigate CT findings in gastric stromal tumors(GST).Methods Both plain and enhanced spiral CT findings in 46 cases with gastric stromal tumor were retrospectively analyzed. In all patients, diagnosis was confirmed with immunohistochemical markers.CT features were retrospectively studied and summarized.Statistical analysis of the shape, growth pattern, necrosis and enhancement patterns was performed with X2 test in 43 cases with single gastric stromal tumor. Results Of the 46 GST patients,43 patients had single GST and multiple GST was detected in 3 cases. In the 43 cases with single GST,tumors were found in the gastric body in 24 cases, gastric fundus in 16 cases, and in the gastric antrum in 3 cases.GST mostly grow along the vertical plane of gastric wall, with a large size but local attachment. The tumor size was less than 5era in diameter in 14 cases.Of them, ten cases had a regular shape,10 cases showed homogeneous enhancement, and 4 cases exhibited central necrosis,7 tumors showed intra-luminal growth and 5 tumors showed extra-luminal growth, while the other 2 cases involved both intra and extra lumina.Twenty-nine cases had tumors larger than 5cm in diameter.Of them,24 cases had irregular shape,27 cases showed inhomogeneous enhancement,24 cases had central necrosis,5 tumors showed intra-luminal growth and 9 tumors showed extra-luminal growth, while 15 cases involved both intra and extra lumina. The tumor size of GST closely was related to the shape, growth pattern, necrosis and the inhomogeneous enhancement patterns of the GST(P<0.05).The enhancement of the tumor was more intense in venous phase and delayed phase.Five cases showed septal enhancement,4 tumors exhibited marked enhancement in arterial phase with up to 60 HU.Conclusions CT can precisely display the location, shape and size of gastric stromal tumors. It is very helpful to provide useful information for early diagnosis and evaluation.

Objective To summarize the experience of the therapy and diagnosis of thoracictuberculosis. Methods Diagnosis and operation of 163 cases of thoracictuberculosis were analyzed. Results 163 cases of thoracic- tuberculosis were treated with focuspurge upon two weeks' anti-tuberculosis treatment.153 cases were cured upon one operation.10 cases suffered incision delayed healing and there were no recurrence cases. Conclusion Thoraeictu- berculosis was treated with focuspurge upon two weeks anti-tuberculosis treatment before operation.Complete purge of focus and postoperative compression band and residual cavity filled with music flap were important measures to prevent incision delayed healing and recurrence.
