OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical efficacy difference on vegetative state in children between acupoint injection combined with plum-blossom needle and western medication based on basic treatment.

METHODSForty-eight children of vegetative state were randomized into an observation group and a control group, 24 cases in each one. On the basis of the treatment of transcranial magnetic stimulation apparatus, balancing treatment apparatus and massage, the acupoint injection and tapping method with plum-blossom needle were adopted in the observation group, in which Xingnaojing injection, mouse nerve growth factor (mNGF) injection, monosialotetrahexosylganglioside sodium injection (MSI), compound Danshen injection were divided in 6 pairs and were injected respectively in Baihui (GV 20), Yongquan (KI 1), Fengfu (GV 16), Yamen (GV 15) and the others, 0.5 mL in each acupoint, once a day for continuous 10 days. Additionally, the tapping method with plum-blossom needle was used on the Governor Vessel and Jiaji (EX-B 2) on the back. In the control group, the intravenous infusion was adopted with citicoline sodium injection, mannitol injection and dexamethasone injection. The treatment was given once a day, 20 days of treatment made one session and totally 3 sessions were required in the two groups. The clinical efficacy, the vegetative state score and the mean curing time were observed after 20 days, 40 days and 60 days of treatment between the two groups.

RESULTSThe effective rates were 58.3% (14/24), 70.8% (17/24) and 79.2% (19/24) in 20 days, 40 days and 60 days of treatment in the observation group and 20.8% (5/24), 45.8% (11/24) and 58.3% (14/24) in the control group respectively. The efficacy in the observation group was superior to those in the control group (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). The vegetative state score was improved apparently after 20 days, 40 days and 60 days of treatment as compared with those before treatment separately (all P < 0.05). It was improved obviously at the each time point after treatment in the observation group as compared with that in the control group (3.34 +/- 2.41 vs 2.64 +/- 11.56, 6.20 +/- 1.46 vs 4.34 +/- 1.64, 11.26 +/- 2.63 vs 8.75 +/- 2.18, all P < 0.05). The mean curing time was (45.67 +/- 16.24) days in the observation group, which was shorter apparently than that of (55.34 +/- 4.57) days in the control group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONBased on basic treatment acupoint injection combined with tapping method of plum-blossom needle achieve the reliable efficacy on vegetative state in children.

0.05).Conclusions Serum NT-proBNP level is sensitive and specific for the diagnosis of pneumonia complicated with CHF and CHD complicated with CHF. There is an increasing tendency of NT-proBNP level companied increasing pulmonary pressure.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the prevalence of pathogen infection and the drug sensitivity of pathogen after liver transplantation so as to provide the reference to the effective clinical prevention and control of pathogen infection and drug resistant strains.METHODS A retrospective survey in 155 patients who underwent 158 orthotopic liver transplantation was carried out.RESULTS The incidence of pathogen infection after liver transplantation was 25.9%,the major pathogens were coagulase-negative Staphylococcus,then Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter.CONCLUSIONS It is very important to prevent pathogen infection and use antibiotic reasonably.Selection of effective antibiotics referring to the etiologic data and resistance of pathogen can help to prevent the drug resistant strains.

Pathology is an important basic medical science,a bridge between the preclinical medicine and the clinical medicine. Because of the close connection between pathology and the clinical medicine and the characteristic of pathological textbook in college of Traditional Chinese Medicine,we undertook case-analysis integrating the teaching contents appropriately during the teaching course.,aiming at enhancing the teaching quality and training the high-diathesis medical students.

Objective To investigate the pathogenicity of the same concentration of Ureaplasma urealyticum serotype1 (Uu1) and 3 (Uu3),alone or in combination,in genital tract of female BALB/c mice.Methods A total of 144 estradiol-pretreated adult female BALB/c mice were randomly and equally divided into 3 groups to be inoculated intravaginally with the same concentration (106 copies/g) of Uu1 and Uu3 alone or in combination.Twelve estradiol-pretreated female BALB/c mice were inoculated with sterile culture solution and served as the control group.At 1,3,7,14,21,35 days after the inoculation,8 mice in each Uu-inoculated group and 2 mice in the control group were sacrificed.Tissue specimens were obtained from the cervix,endometria and fallopian tube and subjected to hematoxylin-eosin staining followed by light microscopy.Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the tissue specimens collected at 14 days from cervical mucosa of mice infected by Uu.Chi-square test was performed for statistical evaluation.Results The total infection rate of Uu within 3-35 days after the inoculation was 35.0％ (14/40),47.5％ (19/40) and 62.5％ (25/40) in the Uu1 group,Uu3 group,and combination group respectively (x2 =6.07,P ＜ 0.05).None of these mice was infected by Uu in the control group.Conclusions At the same inoculation concentration,the combination of Uu1 and Uu3 shows the strongest pathogenicity in genital tract of BALB/c mice,followed sequentially by Uu3 and Uu1 alone.

Objective To compare and explore the morphological characteristics of mast cells in different tissues of 6 types of common laboratory animals.Methods Ten healthy adult SPF Kunming mice, 10 SD rats, 10 Hartley guinea pigs, 10 New Zealand rabbits, 6 beagle dogs and 6 Macaca mulata ( male:female=1:1, for all) were used in this study. The animals were sacrificed by euthanasia, samples of the skin, lung, spleen and sigmoid colon were taken from mouse, rat, guinea pig, rabbit, dog and monkey, and fixed in formalin and Bouin’ s solution.Paraffin sections were stained with toluidine blue and Alcian blue-safranin O, respectively.The mouse skin and dog spleen were immunohistochemically stained for substance P.A color pathological image analysis system was used to conduct the analysis of morphometric pa-rameters of mast cells.Samples of the skin of these animals were also fixed in glutaraldehyde for the electron microscopic observation and comparison of the mast cells.Results Mast cells in different types of animals were distinctive in distribu-tion, morphology, size, metachromasia and staining properties.Density and morphometric parameters of the mast cells had significant differences among the 6 types of animals ( P＜0.05 ) .Characteristic granules were contained in the skin mast cells of guinea pig, dog and monkey.Mast cells in the mouse skin, dog spleen and nerves in the mouse skin showed immu-noreactive substance P.Conclusions Mast cells in the 6 types of laboratory animals showed histochemical and morphologi-cal heterogeneity, which have important reference values in animal experimental research on mast cell function.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of nasal endoscope surgery on chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps in geriatric patients.Methods A total of 132 geriatric patients with chronic sinusitis and nasalpolyps underwent nasal endoscope surgery in our hospital from Jun.2010 to Jun.2014,and the therapeutic effect was investigated.Results In the 132 cases,92 cases were cured (69.7％).Therapeutic effects were excellent in 33 cases (25.0％),and invalid in 7 cases (5.3％).The total effective rate was 94.7％.The total effective rate was 100.0％ in type Ⅰ,97.4％ in type Ⅱ and 84.8％ in type Ⅲ.The total effective rate was higher in type Ⅰ and Ⅱ than in type Ⅲ (x2=3.506 and 6.218,P=0.035 and 0.012).Local complications occurred in 10 cases (7.6％),including 1 case with nasolacrimal duct injury,2 cases with orbital hematoma,5 cases with nasal adhesion,1 case with surgical cavity hemorrhage and 1 case with sinus atresia.Conclusions The therapeutic effects of nasal endoscopesurgery on chronic sinusitis and nasalpolyps are good in geriatric patients,especially in treating chronic sinusitis and nasalpolyps of type Ⅰ and Ⅱ,and the postoperative complications are less,which is worth clinical application.

Objective:To isolate the genes induced by Ty21a. Methods: Prepare the intestinal cells of Balb/C mouse with and without Ty21a immunization, extract the polyA+ RNA, synthesize the dscDNA by using reverse transcription-PCR,get the differentially expressed genes by suppression subtractive hybridization(SSH).Results:Seven genes were novel genes revealed by GenBank searching whose expression were probably induced by Ty21a were isolated by SSH and cDNA microarray. The full length cDNA sequence of three genes are now obtaining through RACE-PCR. Conclusion: SSH is an effective method for isolating the differentiatlly expressed genes; High throughput cDNA microanay is a credibility method to profile changes in gene expression; Ty21a can induce the expression of some new genes related to immune.

Objective To establish odor fingerprint determination method of Aurantii Fructus from different growing areas based on bionic olfaction technology, and provide the reference for the quality control of Aurantii Fructus. Methods The bionic olfactory system (electronic nose, PEN3) was used to measure the odor of Aurantii Fructus from different growing areas; The LDA (Linear discriminant analysis) method was used to determine its odor fingerprint, and the simulation for identification was realized based on MATLAB 2013. Results Although these odor fingerprints of Aurantii Fructus from different growing areas were similar, there were significant differences in peaks' value from each other. The established odor fingerprints can achieve the 96% identification accuracy between known and unknown samples. Conclusion The method is simple, accurate and repeatable, which can be used for quality control of Aurantii Fructus from different growing areas.

Background The safety,effectiveness and predictability of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) to correct hyperopia are of a widely clinical concern,but the efficacy of LASIK for hyperopic correction is not satisfied in comparison to that of myopia.Objective The aim of this work was to evaluate the safety,effectiveness and predictability of autologous corneal len inlays to correct hyperopia.Methods Autologous corneal len inlays was performed on the left eye of female patient with the diopter of +3.25 DS.This patient was followed-up for 1 month.Cornea compensatory intraocular pressure (IOPcc) and imitation Goldmann IOP (IOPg) were measured,and the corneal thickness and corneal flap were observed using optical coherence topography (OCT).Corneal topography was examined to check the change of corneal curvature.Ocular response analyzer was used to evaluate the shifts of corneal hysteresis (CH) and corneal resistance factor (CRF).Uncorrected and best corrected visual acuity and refraction were compared between before and after operation.Written informed consent was obtained from the patient prior to the operation.Results No intraoperative and postoperative complications were found.Uncorrected distance visual acuity improved one line 1 day and 1 month after surgery,and near visual acuity progressed to J2 and the spherical equivalent (SE) was-0.125 D 1 month after surgery.OCT exhibited that the cornea was clear and transparent,and the graft was centered in the corneal stroma capsular bag without rejection 1 month after surgery.The IOPcc was 12.4 mmHg before operation and 11.9 mmHg 1 month after operation,and IOPg was 11.9 mmHg before operation and 10.7 mmHg 1 month after operation in the operated eye.The CH was 9.7 mmHg before operation and 8.9 mmHg 1 month after operation,and CRF was 10.9 mmHg before operation and 10.3 mmHg 1 month after operation,without remarkble change in the indexes mentioned above.Conclusions Autologous corneal implantation can be used to correct hyperopic eye with good safety,effectiveness and predictability.
