This study was based on live yeast cell derivative (LYCD), which was produced by live yeast cell stressed with high temperature and H 2O 2. The results showed that pretreating of low dose(37℃and 0.2mmol/L H 2O 2) could increase the content of GSH and the activity of SOD and CAT. These pretreatment could induce the resistance to lethal concentration of H 2O 2. LYCD was produced by yeast treated with 37℃ and 0.2mmol/L H 2O 2. And it was found that the survival of yeast treated with lethal concentration of H 2O 2 obviously increased, while LYCD was added in yeast culture. It indicated that LYCD could have resistance to oxidative condition.

AlM:To observe the changes of binocular vision in V-pattern exotropia children before and after surgical correction, and the effect of training in reconstructing the binocular vision after surgical corrections.METHODS: Sixty V-pattern exotropia children were enrolled in this study and were divided into three groups according to their age:group A (4~6 years old), group B (7~9 years old), and group C (10~12 years old), 20 cases for each group. Patients received routine refraction and ophthalmic examinations. Distance and near deviation were measured by prism-covering method and synoptophore. The simultaneous perception and fusion were examined with a synoptophore, and the stereacuity was measured with stereograms ( Titmus) . The children who didn’t reconstruct binocular vision function 1wk after surgery received binocular vision training. The data were recorded before and 1 , 2, 4, and 8wk after surgery. RESULTS: Binocular vision significantly improved among the children after surgery in group A and B ( P<0. 05 ) . Significantly divergence showed between group C and the other groups 1wk after surgery ( P < 0. 05 ). Binocular vision of the three groups all significantly improved 8wk after surgery, with no significant differences (P>0. 05). CONCLUSlON: V - pattern exotropia children can benefit from early surgical correction and training after surgery in reconstruct binocular vision.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic values of MSCT for detecting atherosclerotic plaques on New Zealand rabbits models in comparison with pathologic results. Methods Fifteen New Zealand rabbits were enrolled in this study, including 5 with balloon injury and high-fat diet ( group A), 5 with high-fat diet only (group B) and 5 with regular feed (group C). 16th week late, contrast-enhanced MSCT scan was performed in all rabbits with 16 slice MSCT (16-MSCT) in group A and 64 slice MSCT (64-MSCT) in group B and C. The CT and pathological findings were compared in a double-blind manner. The sensitivities and specificities of 16-MSCT and 64-MSCT for detecting atherosclerotic plaques were evaluated by using Fisher test and x2 test. Results Sixty and seventy-five images on 16-MSCT and 64-MSCT had corresponding pathological slices. The sensitivities for the detection of plaques on 16-MSCT and 64-MSCT were 41.5% (22/53) and 64. 9% (24/37), and spocificities of 85. 7% (6/7) and 89. 5% (34/38), respectively. Conclusions 64-MSCT has a higher sensitivity in the detection of atherosclerotic plaques than 16-MSCT. Both scanners can be used to preclude the diagnosis of atherosclerosis.

To study the pharmacokinetics characteristic of loganin, ferulic acid and stilbene glucoside in rat plasma after oral administration of Bushen Tongluo formula. The plasma samples were treated by using liquid-liquid extraction technique, the concentrations were determined by HPLC-UV. Johnson spherigel C18 column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 μm) was adopted and eluted with the of mobile phase of methanol-water containing 0.01% glacial acetic acid in a gradient mode, with the flow rate at 1.0 mL x min(-1), column temperature at 30 degrees C and injection volume of 10 μL. According to the findings, loganin was determined at 235 nm, ferulic acid and stilbene glucoside were determined at 320 nm, with the sample size of 10 μL. The pharmacokinetic parameters of loganin, ferulic acid and stilbene glucoside were calculated by DAS 2. 0 software as follows: C(max) was (0.369 ± 0.042), (0.387 ± 0.071), (0.233 ± 0.044) mg x L(-1); t(max) was (0.226 ± 0.022), (0.282 ± 0.031), (0.233 ± 0.044) h; t(½β) was (6.89 ± 0.20), (10.73 ± 0.11), (6.93 ± 0.09) h; AUC(0-∞) was (1.91 ± 0.36), (3.22 ± 0.52), (1.52 ± 0.33) mg x h x L(-1); AUCO(0-t) was (1.62 ± 0.33), (2.58 ± 0.43), (1.30 ± 0.30) mg x h x L(-1); CL was (20.2 ± 4.0), (1.39 ± 0.23), (31.7 ± 6.9) L x h(-1) x kg(-1), respectively. The results showed that after the oral administration with Bushen Tongluo formula, loganin, ferulic acid and stilbene glucoside showed concentration-time curves in conformity with the two compartment model, with a rapid absorption, loganin and stilbene glucoside was excreted at a moderate speed, and ferulic acid was excreted slowly (but with the highest bioavailability). Bushen Tongluo formula can main maintain plasma concentration with three administrations everyday and so is suitable to be made into common oral preparation.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2005;25(8):691-695
OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Fuzheng Jiangnian Capsule (FZJN) on the pre-thrombosis correlated factors in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD).
METHODSNinety patients with CHD complicated with blood hyperviscosity syndrome were treated with conventional treatment and randomly divided into three groups by the additional treatment, i. e. the FZJN group (FZJN, a preparation with action of invigorating Pi, supplementing Shen, and activating blood circulation), the CSDP group [Compound Salviae droplet pill, CSDP) with the action of activating blood circulation to remove blood stasis) and the aspirin (ASP) group, 30 patients in each group. After two months of treatment, clinical efficacy, the levels of endothelin (ET), nitric oxide (NO), coagulation factor I (Fib), D-dimer (DD), thrombocytic granule membranous glucoprotein (CD62p), superoxide dismutase (SOD), high- and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C, LDL-C) in patients before and after treatment were observed and compared with those in the healthy control group.
RESULTSCompared with the healthy control group, the levels of Fib, DD, ET, CD62p were significantly higher, NO and SOD significantly lower (P<0.05, P<0.01) in all the patients with CHD. Compared with the same group before treatment, the levels of Fib, DD, ET, CD62p, LDL-C in the FZJN group lowered significantly, while NO and SOD raised significantly (P <0.05, P <0.01). ET and CD62p in the CSDP group lowered significantly, while SOD raised significantly (P < 0.05), CD62p in the ASP group lowered significantly (P < 0.05). No statistical difference was found in comparison of DD or ET, though certain improvement was shown. The total effective rate in relieving TCM syndromes and angina pectoris, and the decrease or stop rate of nitrate esters medication were superior in FZJN group to those in the CSDP group and the ASP group, respectively (P <0.05). The rate of electrocardiogram improvement in the FZJN and CSDP group was superior to that in the ASP group (P< 0.05).
CONCLUSIONIncrease of Fib, DD, ET, CD62p, and decrease of NO and SOD levels were found in patients with CHD in prethrombosis stage. Compared with ASP, compound Chinese medicinal herbs can act on the prethrombosis manner of CHD patients through multi-paths, multi-links. FZJN showed better efficacy in improving correlated blood molecule markers and clinical syndromes than CSDP, suggesting that the possible mechanism of FZJN might be related to its actions in dilating blood vessels, improving microcirculation, alleviating endothelial cell damage, inhibiting activity of blood platelet, regulating coagulation-fibrolysis balance, improving metabolism of free radicals as well as lowering the level of LDL-C.
