Objective To evaluate t he efficacy of fluoxetine in treating tinnitus patients with depress. Methods A randomized,open-labeled,controlled clinical tri al was conducted.There were 31 patients in control group and 26 p a tents in fluoxetine group.The efficacy was assessed by tinnitus patients with Ra ting Scale and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD). Results The total effective rate of fluoxetine group was 71.11%, and there was significant improvement rate in depression after 1 month f luoxetine treatm ent. Conclusion Fluoxetine is an effective drug for tinnitus p atients with depression.

Objective The gene encoding part of HTLV(Human Tcell leukemia viruses) envelope protein gp21 was cloned and expressed in order to prepare diagnostic agent for detecting HTLV.Methods The gene encoding part of HTLV envelope protein gp21 was obtained by combining four oligonucleotides into a long DNA fragment,then cloned and subcloned into Tvector and pGEX2T respectively.Expression was performed under induction in a fusion way that target protein gene was inserted downstream the carrying protein gene of pGEX2T which makes purification of target protein convenient.At last,Target protein was purified by affinity chromatography in glutathione sepharose 4B column and its antigenicity was confirmed by immunoblotting.Results and conclusion Sequence analysis showed it was feasible to obtain a target gene by ligating short oligonucleotides;As expected,target protein was expressed which exhibited strong antigenicity after being subcloned into fusion expression vector pGEX2T.

Objective To study the therapeutic efficacy of Chinese botulinum toxin type A (CBTX- A) in masticatory spasm patients.Methods 16 patients with masticatory spasm were treated with CBTX-A local injection.12 patients showed jaw clench with masseter and temporalis affected (type Ⅰ).Four showed jaw clench and deviation to one side with pterygoid muscle affected unilaterally or bilaterally (type Ⅱ).All patients showed paroxysmal clenched jaw with difficulty in opening their mouths.There were no other clinical manifestations.CT and MRI did not reveal any intracerebral abnormalities.The efficacy and adverse effects were observed.Results CBTX-A were injected into 16 patients,resulting in a significant improvement of symptoms in 13 cases (4 cases of unilateral type Ⅰ,7 of 8 cases bilateral type Ⅰ,2 of 4 type Ⅱ).The spasms ceased within 3-10 days after the injection,and the effects lasted for 8-26 weeks.Four patients were observed to have slight masseter weakness after the injections,which recovered within a few weeks.The benefit persisted after identical repeated injection.Conclusion CBTX-A injection is an effective and safe treatment for masticatory spasm.

Objective To determine the serum level of pepsinogenⅠ,Ⅱ(PGⅠ,PGⅡ) and PGⅠ/Ⅱin the residents from Zhuanghe county,a high risk area of gastric cancer in North China,and to explore their distribution as well as related factors.Methods Serum PGⅠand PGⅡlevels were detec- ted with ELISA method in 6990 subjects.Gastric diseases were diagnosed by endoscopy and histopatho- logic examination.Serum H.pylori-IgG antibody was determined by ELISA method.Results The me- dian values for PGⅠ,PGⅡ,PGⅠ/Ⅱwere 86.9/?g/L,10.6/zg/L and 8.1 respectively.Serum PGⅠand PGⅡin male(95.2?g/L,12.1?g/L) were significantly higher than those in female(79.7?g/L, 9.4?g/L;P=0.000),PGⅠ/Ⅱratio(7.9) was significantly lower in male (8.3,P=0.000).There were significantly decrease in PGⅠ/Ⅱratio along with age increase.PGⅠ/Ⅱratio decreased signifi- cantly following with progression of gastric mucosa from normal (10.4) to non-atrophic lesions(8.8) and to atrophic lesions (6.6).Serum PGⅠand PGⅡin H. pylori positive subjects (88.7?g/L,11.4?g/L) were significantly higher than those in H.pylori negative subjects (81.4?g/L,8.4?g/L;P= 0.000),PGⅠ/Ⅱratio(7.7) was significantly lower in H.pylori positive subjects (9.6,P=0.000). For patients with atrophic lesions,the area under the PGⅠ/ⅡROC curve was 0.622.The best cut-off point for PGⅠ/Ⅱwas 6.9,with sensitivity of 53.2%,and specificity of 67.5%.Factors linked to PGⅠ/Ⅱwere identified using multinomial logistic regression:male (OR:1.151,95% CI:1.042—1.272, P=0.006),age=61(OR:1.358,95% CI:1.188—1.553,P=0.000),atrophic lesion(OR:2.075,95% CI:1.870—2.302,P=0.000),and H.pylori infection (OR:1.546,95% CI:1.368—1.748,P= 0.000).Conclusions The serum PG levels are significantly skewed from normal distrubition in the residents of Zhuanghe county,and affected by age and gender,as well as associated with gastric diseases and H.pylori in- fection.Compared with PGⅠand PGⅡalone,PGⅠ/Ⅱis more suitable for screening gastric cancer.

Clinical features and thyroid-stimulating antibody(TSAb)in 32 newly diagnosed patients with Graves' ophthalmopathy(GO)were compared with those in 27 Graves' disease(GD)patients without GO(as control group).All of the patients with GO received intravenous glucocorticoids.The level of serum TSAb in patients with GO was significantly higher than that in patients without GO.TSAb was also associated with the prognosis.It suggests that TSAb seems to be the most active component among the TSH receptor antibodies related to ophthalmopathy and may act as a predictive parameter.

Objective:To observe the theraputic effect and changes of glomerular extracellular matrix components(ECM) and PAI-1 and their relationships after cure with methyl-prednisone on immune complexes nephritis rats.Methods:Immune complexes nephritis rats model were induced with C-BSA.Levels of FN,LN in different treatment groups were analyzed by ELISA, level of PAI-1 in rats renal tissue was determined by color developing substrate,was theraputic effect of methyl-prednisone with 24 hours volumes of urine protein.Results:The levels of PAI-1,FN and LN of model groups were significantly higher than those of normal and control groups,and PAI-1 was significantly correlated with LN and FN,Glomerular mesangial matrix proliferated slightly and moderately;The levels of FN,LN and PAI-1 decreased signifcantly and glomerular mesangial matrix proliferation lessen differently after cure of methyl-prednisone for 1 and 2 weeks,but not reaching the level of normal groups;24 hours volumes of urine protein decrease significantly in treatment groups.Conclusion:The ECM accumulation correlate with PAI-1 increase in immune complexes rats,methyl-prednisone may affect ECM accumulation by interfering with PA/PAI-1 system to reach a treatment purpose.

AIM: To investigate the levels of IL-18, IL-16, IL-8, eotaxin and the chymase activity in the sputum of asthmatics. METHODS: IL-18, IL-16, IL-8 and eotaxin levels were detected with sandwich ELISA procedures and chymase activity was determined spectrophotometrically (410 nm) by the rate of hydrolysis of N-succinyl-L-Ala-L-Ala-L-Pro-L-Phe-p-nitroanilide (SAAPP). RESULTS: The specific chymase activities in the severe and moderate asthmatics were higher than that in controls. Native protease inhibitors ?_1-antitrypsin (?_1-AT) and soybean trypsin inhibitor (SBTI) inhibited 71.9% and 72.1% enzymatic chymase activity, respectively. Abstract: In recent years, the HIV prevention intervention strategy has had a positive effect on reducing the HIV infection prevalence in China. HIV non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP) has become an effective measure to prevent HIV for men who have sex with men (MSM) exposed to possible risks. From the perspective of the "knowledge, attitude, and practice" theory, domestic and overseas scholars used outpatient data and questionnaires to investigate the awareness, attitude, usage, medication, follow-up, and drug prescription of HIV nPEP among MSM in China. This article reviewed the above-mentioned and found that the overall awareness rate of HIV nPEP among MSM in China is high with a positive attitude, but the actual utilization rate is very low. On a regional level, their follow-up after the medication is not ideal despite good medication. Drug prescription varies between different regions domestically. The prescription rate of tenofovir + emtricitabine + raltegravir is the highest, followed by the prescription rate of tenofovir + emtricitabine + dolutegravir, and tenofovir + lamivudine + dolutegravir. In the future, researchers should expand the number of study objects and the scope of the research sites in China, analyze the "knowledge, attitude, and practice" of HIV nPEP, medication follow-up, and medication prescription among MSM, and increase the research on HIV nPEP service areas to provide the reference for further formulating and refining the comprehensive HIV prevention intervention strategy among MSM in China.

Objective To study the clinical role of the variation of serum matrix metalloproteinase-8 (MMP-8)concentration in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods ELISA method was adopted to detect serum MMP-8 concentration and to observe concentration's differences and features among 80 selected ACS cases (43 acute myocardial infarction and 37 unstable angina pectoris), 43 stable angina pectoris (SAP) cases and 37 control cases.And meanwhile the atherosclerosis risk factors of each case, such as age, sex, hypertension, body mass index, smoking,family history, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia were collected and analyzed as a whole. Results First, serum MMP-8 concentration reached the highest point in ACS, and there was significant difference between SAP and control groups (P<0.01). Second, sermn MMP-8 in AMI was much higher than that in UAP with significant difference (P<0.01). There was no difference between UAP and SAP groups (P>0.05). Third, Logistic regression analysis revealed that serum MMP-8 concentration might be the indicator of ACS (B=4.493, P=0.000), particularly, that of AMI (B=9.961,P=0.000). Fourth, linear correlation and linear regression analysis found that only neutrophil was likely to influence serum MMP-8 concentration (r=0.274, P=0.001). Fifth, in the diagnosis of ACS, the area under ROC curve of MMP-8 was 0.785, the sensitivity and specificity were 68.6% and 76.5%, respectively. Conclusion ① Serum MMP-8 concentration has close relationship with the occurrence of ACS, particularly with AMI;② Serum MMP-8 concentration may be one of the predicting indicators of ACS and particularly of AMI;③ Neutrophil may be correlated with serum MMP-8 concentration;④ MMP-8 is of somewhat valuable in diagnosing ACS.
