Osteoarthritis ( OA) is a chronic joint disease characterized by degeneration of articular cartilage and changes of subchondral bone play an important role in the occurrence and development of OA .Recent studies have found that change in the struc-ture and mechanical properties of subchondral bone is one of the main pathological processes in OA .To confirm the role of subchondral bone in OA process can provide not only more details about the pathogenesis of OA , but also new targets for treatment .Early diagnosis and treatment of OA may be possible by detecting radiographic and genomics of subchondral bone .We review subchondral bone chan-ges andits role in OA process in aspects of biomechanics , biology, radiological and genomics .

Objective To compare the timeliness, success and mortality rates between the modified carotid artery puncture method ( MCAPM) and standard suture method ( SSM) in the establishment of rat model of a middle cerebral ar?tery occlusion ( MCAO) . Methods Thirty?two male rats were randomly and equally assigned into MCAPM group and SSM group. The MCAO models were established by inserting a thread into the common carotid artery ( CCA) . 24 h after modeling, the rats of the two groups were evaluated with Bederson neurological scores, and the modeling success rate and mortality rate were analyzed. Results The suture insertion times, success rates and mortality rates of the MCAPM vs. SSM groups were (82?3 ±17?4) s versus (164?6 ± 22?0) s (P<0?01), 87?5% versus 68?75% (P>0?05), and 6?25% versus 18?75% (P>0?05). Conclusions MCAPM can be used to establish the rat model of MCAO due to its simplicity, mild wound and feasibility.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the adverse drug reactions of 6 kinds of quinolones in order to provide information for clinically rational use of drugs.METHODS The adverse drug reactions of quinolones such as norfloxacin, ofloxacin, levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, fleroxacin and rufloxacin used in outpatients during Feb to May 2007 were collected and retrospectively analyzed.RESULTS The main adverse drug reactions were seen in gastrointestinal system, nervous system, immune system, respiratory system, urinary system etc. From them the symptoms of gastrointestinal system and nervous system were prominent.CONCLUSIONS In use of quinolones it should think highly to their adverse drug reactions.

Objective To study the use of ultrasound-guided percutaneous transhepatic cholecystostomy (PTGD) followed by selective minilaparotomy cholecystectomy (MC) for acute obstructive cholecystitis in the high-risk elderly.Method A retrospective study was conducted on 120 patients who received ultrasound-guided PTGD followed by selective MC from January 2008 to December 2010.Results PTGD+ MC were performed successfully on 120 patients with acute severe obstructive chole cystitis. In all the patients, the abdominal pain was relieved within 2-3 h of operation, and the temperature decreased to normal from 24- 48 h after operation. The average time of drainage was 10 days.In 97 patients MC was performed 1 week after PTGD,and in 23 patients 2 weeks after PTGD.Bleeding from gallbladder bed occurred in 1 patient. No patient suffered from bile leak. There was no major complication or death after PTGD+ MC.Conclusion PTGD followed by selective MC is a simple, efficacious and minimally invasive treatment for high-risk elderly patients with acute obstructive cholecystitis.

Myoblast line C_2C_ 12 cells were co-cultured with various concentrations of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). Being induced by GLP-1, myoblast line C_2C_ 12 cells have the potential to differentiate into cells which are able to secrete insulin-like substance.

AIM:To observe the influence of Chuanbaiqufeng Capsule(Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Radix Paeoniae alba,Herba Schizonepetae, etc.) on the primary trigeminal neuralgia of the model rat.METHODS:Chuanbaiqufeng Capsule was taken to treat the primary trigeminal neuralgia and the pain after chronic constriction injury, and then compared with the control contrast group and the Carbamazepine group.RESULTS:Chuanbaiqufeng Capsule could raise the content of substance P and 5-HT in the rats' brain of the primary trigeminal neuralgia. But for the rat's model after chronic constriction injury,Chuanbaiqufeng Capsule could make the pain threshold risen(P

Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition 2004;0(06):-
Objectives:To observe the effect of different formulas of enteral nutrition on the variety of blood glucose and blood lipid in critically ill patients with hyperglycemia. Methods:Ensure, Nutrison and Glucerna were randomly used with equal daily calorie in 45 patients receiving enteral nutrition. Fasting blood glucose, blood routine, serum potassium, serum sodium, serum chlorine, liver and kidney function, prealbumin, tranferrin, urea and creatinine in 24hr urine were monitored in all cases. Results:The fasting blood glucose was significantly increased in patients having received. Ensure and Nutrison and did need insulin treatment. The fluctuation of fasting blood glucose was less in patients who had used Glucerna and didn’t need insulin(P
