Objective To objectively analyze the manifestation of sleep disorders in patients with Parkinson' s disease (PD) using polysomnogram (PSG) and multiple sleep latency test (MSLT). Method Twenty-six patients (PD group)with PD and 31 controls without CNS diseases( control group) underwent all night ambulatory video-polysomnographic monitoring and MSLT on the next day. Sleep architecture, mean sleep latency, sleep onset rapid eye movement (REM) periods(SOREMPs) and sleep attacks(Sas) of the two groups were analyzed. Results When compared to the controls, percentage of NREM stage 2 sleep, percentage of REM sleep, mean sleep latency in the PD patient group were significantly decreased (32.8% ±13.1% vs40.2% ±9.1%,t = -2.515;8.6% ±5.3% vs 11.5% ±5.1%,t = -2.054;(9.6 ± 4. 4) min vs ( 15.7 ± 3. 1 ) min, t = - 6. 1 64, all P < 0. 05 ), while arousal index was significantly increased ( (41.8 ± 32. 1 )/h vs ( 28.6 ± 1 1. 0 )/h, t = 2. 151, P < 0. 05 ). The prevalence of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS; 7/26, 26. 9% ) was higher in the PD patient group than in the controls (1/31,3. 2%; ×2 =4. 764,P<0. 05). Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that after adjusting for sleep efficiency, apnea hypopnea index, arousal index, decreasing mean sleep latency in PD patients was significantly associated with both age( β = -0. 328) and levodopa equivalents( β = -0. 008; t = -2. 829,-2. 352,all P < 0.05). SOREMPs occurred in 5 of 26 (19.2%) PD patients and Sas occurred in 3 ( 11.5% ) PD patients but did not occur in the controls. Conclusion Changes in sleep architectures and EDS are more common in PD patients. Physicians should be highly vigilant in recognizing Sas, which are uncommon in PD patients.

Objective To study the influence of herbal decoction Shuxin Yin(SXY)on platelet activation of rats and mice with a- cute myocardial ischemia in order to explain its possible mechanism for treating coronary heart disease. Methods The rat model with acute myocardial ischemia and the mice model with acute myocardial ischemia and reperfusion were established. The male SD rats and ICR mice,51 each, were randomized into 5 groups respectively:sham operation group, model group, low dose SXY group, high dose SXY group, ticlopidine groap.Made models and collected blood Sample after 30 days gastric infusion in succession. The flow cytome- try technique and the monoclonal antibody examination were adopted to test the mice platelet glycoprotein CD_(62)P;the radioim- munoassay was used to test rat platelet aggregation rate(PAR),fibrinogen(Fg),thromboxane B_2(TXB_2)and 6-keto-PGF_(1?) and their ratio. Results Shuxin Yin can, inhibit the high expression of CD_(62)P of mice with acute myocardial ischemia and reperfusion, and de- crease PAR,Fg and TXB_2/6-keto-PGF_(1?) of rats with acute myocardial isehemia.Compared with the effect of ticlopidine, the differ- ence was not significant. Conclusion Shuxin Yin could effectively inhibiting platelet activation in rats anel mice with acute myocardial ischemia, and its effect in preventing and treating coronary heart disease might be related to the inhibition of platelet activation.

Objective:Since malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) may be taken as an undifferentia-ted pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS), this study was conducted to reassess 33 previously diagnosed MFH cases in the past 10 years based on the latest WHO concept. And then to search for the clinicopathological features, probably tumorigenesis, and the line of differentiation of the remaining MFH/UPS cases. Methods: Thirty-three cases in tissue microarray were studied by immunohistochemistry with panels of neurogenic, myogenic, and lipogenic antibodies. Three expertise pathologists reevaluated the slides separately. Results: Among the 33 cases, 17 cases (51.5%) of MFH had their diagnoses changed, including 5 leiomyosarcomas, 3 malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors, 1 fibrosarcoma, 1 inflammatory myofibrosarcoma, 1 giant cell tumor and 1 angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma. The remaining 16 cases (48.5%) were finally diagnosed as MFH/UPS, among which patients were mainly old adults (median age: 63 years; range: 38 to 76 years). The median tumor size was 6.0 cm (range: 3.0 to 14.0 cm), 8 cases (50%) located in lower limb and 5 cases (31.3%) located in thigh. These tumors had marked cytological and nuclear pleomorphism. Immunohistochemistry showed that Vimentin was strongly positive in all 16 MFH/UPS (100%), Muscle-specific actin was variously positive in 8 cases (50%) and 1 case focally expressed Desmin. Eleven cases (68.8%) variously expressed CD68 (KP1) and 7 cases (43.8%) expressed CD68 (PG-M1), which were much higher than leiomyosarcoma, malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor and liposarcoma with significant difference. Moreover, Ki67 expression rates were from 10% to 100%, including 14 cases more than 50% and 11 cases more than 70%. However, only 2 cases (12.5%) showed P53 positive. Conclusion: MFH/UPS often show marked histological pleomorphism, and the diagnosis must be made by exclusion of other definitive sarcomas, especially myogenic and neurogenic sarcoma. Only Vimentin was always expressed in MFH/UPS, while some of the tumors were positive for myogenic antigen and CD68. It was suggested that MFH/UPS might arise from primary mesenchymal cells, and some cases exhibited fibroblastic and/or myofibroblastic features. In addition, histiocytic phenotypic marker did have more expression in MFH/UPS than in other sarcomas. MFH/UPS still had certain clinicopathological characteristics.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of pulmonary function after completed cervical spinal cord injury (CSCI) and the effect of pulmonary rehabilitation with abdominal pressure. Methods 32 male patients with CSCI were measured with pulmonary function test (PFT), and 10 of them accepted pulmonary rehabilitation with 3~5 kg pressure on their abdomen 30 min per day for 8 weeks. Results Their forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), vital capacity (VC), forced vital capacity (FVC), peak expiratory flow (PEF) were all less than 50% prediction. After 8 weeks, the pulmonary function of 10 patients who received exercise significantly improved (P<0.01). Conclusion The pulmonary function impaired in patients with CSCI. The pulmonary rehabilitation with pressure on abdomen can improve the pulmonary function.

Objective:To observe the instant analgesic effect of Governor Vessel-regulating and collateral-unblocking acupuncture method in treating primary headache and to inherit and carry forward the academic achievements of Gao's acupuncture school in Yanzhao (Hebei Province) area. Methods:Eighty eligible primary headache patients were randomized into an observation group and a control group following their visiting sequence, 40 patients in each group. The observation group was intervened by Yanzhao Gao's Governor Vessel-regulating and collateral-unblocking acupuncture, and the control group was intervened by ordinary acupuncture method. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate the headache intensity before and after the first treatment session in the two groups, to compare the instant analgesic effect of the two acupuncture methods. Results:After the first treatment session, the VAS scores dropped significantly in both groups (both P<0.05). The change of VAS score after the initial treatment in the observation group was significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.05). The percentage of patients with headache completely vanished instantly after the first treatment was markedly higher in the observation group than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The two acupuncture methods both can produce a significant instant analgesic effect in treating primary headache, while Yanzhao Gao's Governor Vessel-regulating and collateral-unblocking acupuncture method is superior to ordinary acupuncture method.

To study the effect of miR-490 on Coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) replication, HeLa cells were trans- fected with miR-490 in vitro, and infected with a Renilla luciferase (RLuc)-expressing CVB3 variant (RLuc-CVB3). The activities of RLuc in these cells were measured at 8h intervals from 0 to 40 h post-infection (p.i.), and the effects of miR-490 on RLuc-CVB3 replication were observed. In a further study, HeLa cells were transfected with either miR-490 or antisense miR-490 (AMO-miR-490), and were then infected with an enhanced green fluorescence protein (EGFP)-expressing CVB3 variant (EGFP-CVB3). The replication of EGFP-CVB3 was then determined by detecting the expression of EGFP. We observed that miR-490 could significantly inhibit the expression of RLuc in infected cells at 32 h p. i. Furthermore, in HeLa cells infected with EGFP-CVB3 at 32 h p.i., EGFP expression was also significantly inhibited by the presence of mniR-490. The inhibitory effect of miR-490 on EGFP expression in EGFP-CVB3-infected cells could be reversed by tranfection with AMQ-miR-490. These results indicated that miR-490 significantly inhibits the replication and expression of QVB3.

Objective To explore the effect of preventing adhesion after the orbital blowout fracture on orbit tissue by amniotic membrane. Design Experimental study. Participants Twenty-six New Zealand rabbits. Methods Establishing rabbit orbital blowout fracture model, the right orbit of twenty rabbits was repaired by hydroxyapatite (HA) parceled of amniotic membrane, and left orbit was only repaired by HA, the orbits of the other six rabbits weren't repaired. Then we got the tissue around bone after one week and one month, and compared the difference of three groups. Main Outcome Measures Inflammatory response of tissue around bone was ana- lyzed by HE, picric acid Sirius Scarlet dying, TGF-?immunohistoehemical observation. Results One week after operation, HE and im- munohistochemistry showed that the difference was not significant in inflammatory response between experimental group and control group (P=0.351, P=0.413), and difference is significant between blank group and experimental group (P=0.012, P=0.041). One month after operation, HE and immunohistoehemistry showed that the difference was significant in inflammatory response between experimental group and control group(P=0.037, P=0.048), and there is no significant difference between experimental group and blank group(P=0.285, P=0.472). Conclusion It has an important role of anti-inflammatory and anti-adhesion in the chronic stage of inflammatory after orbital blowout fracture repaired by man-made plates of amniotie membrane.
