Objective To understand the epidemiological status of chronic diseases and its related risk factors among adult residents in Hebei province.Methods A total of 4 200 adults from 20 districts in Hebei province were selected by multistage stratified random sampling method,and they were investigated with questionnaire,and the body measurement and blood sample were analyzed.Results The prevalent rates of overweight,obesity,central obesity,hypertension,dyslipidemia and diabetes mellitus were 35.19%,16.38%,52.98%,38.50%,39.62% and 5.81%,respectively.The age-adjusted rates were 30.28%,14.05%,44.32%,27.86%,32.71% and 4.00%,respectively.The prevalence of chronic diseases was highly associated with age.The prevalence of chronic diseases in male was higher than that in female among people aged under 55 yrs,but lower among people aged over 55 yrs.The rates were higher in urban areas than in rural areas.The prevalence rates of cigarette smoking and alcohol-drinking in male were higher than in female(P

Objective To evaluate toxicopathological changes of central nervous system in rats at different morphine-dependent time. Methods Animal model of morphine-dependence in rats was established by subcutaneous injection of morphine. Histopathologic changes of coeruleus, periaqueductal gray, substantia nigra, lenticula, corpus amygdaloideun and hippocampus in morphine-dependent rats were observed by microscopy and electron microscopy, and synaptic numbers were counted and compared with those in control animals. Results Six morphine dependence-related regions in morphine-dependent groups were observed. Pyknosis or swelling of the nerve cells, swollen nerve fibers, swollen and deformed mitochondria were detected. Dilated endoplasmic reticulum and disaggregated polyribosomes were observed with increased number in synapsis. Gliocytosis and subpial infiltration of lymphocytes and monocytes became more obvious with extension of dependent time, and glial nodules were formed. Objective To study the efficacy and safety of glargine insulin combined with glimepiride therapy in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods According to the random number table,100 T2DM patients with unsatisfactory efficacy of oral hypoglycemic agents were randomly divided into treament group and control group, 50 cases in each group.Then,the treatment group was dealed with glargine insulin and glimepiride,the control group were treated with insulin glargine for our treatment protocol.12 weeks after treament,the fasting blood glucose(FPG), 2 hours blood glucose(2hPG),body mass index(BMI),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),islet β-cell function index(HOMA -β),insulin resistance index(Homa -IR),insulin dosage(INS),time requirds,weight gain and so on were observed.Meanwhile,The occurrence condition of hypoglycemia was also observed.Results In control groups, the post -treatment indexes of FPG,2hPG,HbAlc,HOMA -βand HOMA -IR[(5.7 ±0.8)mmol/L,(8.6 ± 2.5)mmol/L,(6.5 ±0.7)%,(40.35 ±3.12),(2.68 ±1.41 )]were much better than those in pre -treatment [(11.7 ±1.6)mmol/L,(15.1 ±6.1 )mmol/L,(9.2 ±1.1 )%,(19.01 ±2.79),(3.42 ±1.47)](t =23.717, 6.971,14.642,36.052,2.568,P <0.01 or 0.05 for both).In the treatment group,the post -treatment indexes of FPG,2hPG,HbAlc,HOMA -β,HOMA -IR[(5.6 ±0.7)mmol/L,(7.3 ±2.3)mmol/L,(6.3 ±1.0)%,(54.18 ± 3.23),(2.12 ±1.26 )]improved obviously than those in pre -treatment [(11.8 ±1.7 )mmol/L,(15.8 ± 5.2)mmol/L,(9.3 ±1.2)%,(18.71 ±3.12),(3.36 ±1.56)](t =23.846,10.570,13.580,55.849,4.372,P <0.01 for both).After treatment,the indexes of 2hPG,HOMA -β,HOMA -IR,insulin dose,time requirds and ampli-tude of weight gain[(7.3 ±2.3)mmol/L,(54.18 ±3.23),(2.12 ±1.26),(18.06 ±1.43)U /d,(10.1 ±2.4)d, (1.1 ±0.4kg)]etc in the treatment group were significantly ameliorated than those in the control group[(8.6 ± 2.5)mmol/L,(40.35 ±3.12),(2.68 ±1.41 ),(22.46 ±1.77)U /d,(13.2 ±2.6)d,(2.1 ±0.6)kg](t =23.717,6.971,14.642,36.052,2.568,P <0.01 or 0.05 for both).Hypoglycemia events of treatment group were 4 cases(8.0%)and the same in the control group were 13 cases(26.0%),there were statistical significance between the two groups(χ2 =5.535,P <0.05).Conclusion Treatment of glargine insulin combined with glimepiride can improve blood glucose level of T2DM patients,recover their islet β-cell function,relieve the IR,shorten the time requirds,as well as reduce the insulin dosage,range of weight gain and rate of hypoglycemia events.Hence,treatment protocol of glargine insulin combined with glimepiride is an effective clinical treatment for newly diagnosed T2DMpatients.

Objective:To repair unilateral incomplete cleft lip with Noordhoof's incomplete cheiloplasty. To analyze the properties of the technique and to emphasize the key points of the operation design and manipulation. Methods:52 cases of unilateral incomplete cleft lip were received Noordhoff treatment. The characterization of operative method, results and attention were analyzed. Results: 51 cases are totally healed successfully except 1 case is healed successfully by re-operation for losing balance onto the floor. Conclusion: With Noordhoof's surgical technique for unilateral incomplete cleft lip, parenchyma of the lip is utilized mostly, the nosewing outboard incision is avoided. The shape of vermilion is more satisfactory.

Background Brn-3a is a newly discovered specificity marker for retina ganglion cells(RGCs).It is well-known that RGCs damage is a important pathological basis of hypertension-visual disorder.But the study concerning expression of Brn-3a in RGCs in glaucoma eye is still rately.Objective The purpose of this work was to investigate the changes of Brn-3a expression in model eye with chronic high intraocular pressure(IOP) and its relation with morphology of retina and the expression of Brn-3a in chronic ocular hypertension rats.Methods Thirty-five clean adult SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group(5 rats) and model group(30 rats).Experimental chronic ocular hypertension models were induced unilaterally in the left eyes of 30 health adult SD rats by cauterizing super-scleral veins,and the conjunctival incision was made in the right eyes as sham operative group.The operated rats were subdivided into 6 groups according to the examination time points and 6 rats for each group.IOP was measured with Tono-Pen tonometer before and after 30 minutes,1,3,7,14,28 day after surgery respectively.The rat models were sacrificed in 1,3,5,7,14,28 days after operation by excessive anesthesia method,and retinal section was prepared for the histopathological examination and the RGCs were counted using Nissl staining method.Expression of Brn-3a in RGCs was detected by immunohistochemistry.This experimental complied with the Regulations for the Administration of Affair Concerning Experimental Animals by State Science and Technology Commission.Results The IOP was significantly raised from 30 minutes to 28 days after operation in model eyes with the top IOP( 34.46±4.65 )mmHg in the 30 minutes after operation,showing statistically significant differences in various time groups ( F =95.631,P =0.001 ) and different eyes ( F =287.473,P =0.001 ).Compared with sham operative group,the IOP were elevated from 1 day through 14 days after operation ( q =18.418,15.261,10.987,6.931,4.975,2.962,P ＜ 0.05 ).The numbers of RGCs were ( 29.08 ± 1.98 ) in the normal control group and decreased gradually by 3.17％,7.84％,14.60％,22.40％ in 1,7,14,28 day after surgery in the model eyes with the considerable differences in comparison with normal eyes ( t =5.943,8.034,15.023,17.004,19.371,P ＜ 0.05 ).Immunochemistry revealed that Brn-3a was specially expressed in the RGCs layer and the positive RGCs for Brn-3a were evidently decreased as the prolong of high IOP duration ( F =127.583,P =0.000 ).Conclusions Chronic glaucoma model can be successfully established using Shareef-Sharma method.The loss of RGCs is associated with the high lOP duration.The expression level of Brn-3a is a reliable index of high-IOP-induced damage of optical nurve.

Objective To study the psychological changes and the effect of psychological intervention and to discuss the influence of psychological rehabilitation on carcinoma patients after comprehensive interventional therapy.Methods 100 carcinoma patients were divided into two groups randomly:the psychological intervention group(50 casea) received both psychological intervention therapy and comprehensive intervention therapy;the control group (50 cases) received only comprehensive interventional therapy;Curative effects were assessed with the Symptom Checklist90(SCL-90) ,the Self Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and the Self Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) for each patient. Results For the psychological intervention group, SCL-90 scores after therapy was significantly lower than that before therapy ( P < 0. 05 ), and were also significantly lower than that ( without anxiety agent) of the control group. The scores of SDS and SAS in post-therapy patients were significantly lower than that of pre-therapy patients in the psychological intervention group. The scores of SDS had no statistical difference between post-therapy patients and pre-therapy patients in the control group. The scores of SAS in post-therapy patients was significantly lower than that of pre-therapy patients in the control group. Both scores of SDS and SAS in the control group were significantly higher than that of the psychological intervention group after therapy. Conclusion Psychological intervention for carcinoma patients after comprehensive interventional therapy played an promotional role in psychological rehabilitation in the community.

Objective To clone and sequence the cDNA encoding farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase(FPS) from Panax notoginseng.Methods The cDNA,encoding FPS in P.notoginseng,was amplified by RACE strategy with the total RNA of root as the template.The fragment of FPS was cloned and sequenced.Results The analysis results revealed that the full-length cDNA had(1 409) bp with an open reading frame encoding 343 amino acids of protein.The FPS sequence had 95%,87%,and 86% amino acid sequence homology to the FPS sequence of Centella asiatica,Parthenium argentatum,and Artemisia annua,respectively. Conclusion The cDNA encoding FPS from P. notoginseng is cloned and reported.This works provide a foundation for exploring the mechanism of saponins biosynthesis and application to the other medical plants.
