Objective To investigate the clinical effect of hysteroscope combined with B-ultrasound in the treatment of uterin cavity adhesion. Methods Hegar dilatior or electric knife of hysteroscope was used to cut adhesion, which was monitored by B-ultrasound. Antibotics, artificial hormonal cycle treatment and IUD in uterin cavity were used after operation. Results 55 cases of uterin cavity adhesion were separated completely and had no complication. Amenorrhvea or rare menstrual flow occurred in 48 cases, and menstrual flow recovered in 43 cases (89 6%) . 24 cases of dysmenorrhvea relieved. 21 of 36 patients who hoped for pregnancy became pregnant(58.3%).The pregnant rate of patients with light uterin cavity adhesion was highest, followed by moderate uterin cavity adhesion, and there was no pregnancy in the cases of serious uterin cavity adhesion(? 2=6 826, P =0 033). Conclusions Hysteroscope combined with B-ultrasound to treat uterin cavity adhesion is a preferable method. Pregnancy after operation was closely related to degree of uterin cavity adhesion.

A perfect clinical trial must nave a solid study design, strict conduction, complete quality control, non-interference of statistical result, and acceptable risk-benefit ratio. To reach the target, the quality control (QC) should be performed from the study design to conduction, from the analysis to conclusion. We discuss the relationship between data management and biostatistics from the statistical point of view, and emphasize the importance of the statistical concept and methods in the improvement of data quality in clinical data management.

Objective To explore the effect of ciliary, neurotrophic factor (CNTF)-coated polyglycolic and polylactic acid (PGLA) nerve conduits treated by pulsed plasma to repair canine tibial nerve defects. Methods A 2.5 cm long tibial nerve defect was made in eighteen cross-bred dogs. The nerve defects were re- constructed by three different methods:group A:pulsed plasma treated and CNTF coated PGLA nerve conduits (n=6);group B:PGLA nerve conduits alone (n=6);group C:nerve autografts (n=6).HE staining, Massons' trichrome staining,S-100 immunostaining, electrophysiological test and axon counting were used to evaluate the results of nerve regeneration in three groups. In addition, the dynamic walking pattern was recor- ded individually. The observation period lasted for three months. Results All nerve conduits were well vas- cularized and mostly degraded as well as absorbed. It was found that the regenerating axons could traverse all nerve conduits. In regard to nerve conduction velocity and axon counting there was no significant difference be- tween group A and group C (P>0.05),while the data of group A and group C were significantly better than those of group B(P<0.05).The dogs in group A and C recovered nearly normal walk pattern while those in group B were still crippled. Conclusion Pulsed plasm-treated and then CNTF-coated PGLA nerve conduits could effectively repair 2.5-cm-long canine tibial nerve defects, and the effect is similar to that of autografts.

Objective: To study the infectious state of 3 kinds of viruses (CVB, CMV and EBV) in respiratory tract infection and its significance. Methods: Among 290 patients studied, there were 158 boys and 132 girls, aged from 6 months to 12 years. The antigen of coxsackievirus B (CVB-Ag) and antibody of coxsackievirus B (CVB-IgM), antibody of cytomegalovirus (CMV-IgM) and antibody of EB virus (EBV- IgM) were detected by ELISA method. Results: (1) The positive incidence of upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, pneumonia was higher than that of noninfectious disease group (P<0.01). The positive incidence of CVB was higher than that of CMV and EBV(P<0.01). (2)There were cross viruses positive, especially in pneumonia group (P<0.05), usually CVB cross other virus infection. (3) The course of pneumonia was long in single CVB (P<0.01) and longer in cross infection of viruses (P<0.01). Conclusion: CVB infection is the most common one in the 3 viruses. Attention should be paid to multiple viruses infections in pneumonia children.

Objective To investigate the effects of the popliteofibular ligament (PFL) and/or the popliteus tendon (POP) reconstruction in an external rotation injury model of the knee. Methods Six nonpaired cadaveric knees were tested under the following POP and PFL states:intact, sectioned, and reconstructed using 3 different techniques. Each knee was subjected to 5 N·m external rotation torque at flexion angles of 0°,30°,45°,60°,90°,and 120°.A navigation system was used to measure the motion changes of the tibia with respect to the femur. Results The external rotation increased 2.1°±0.7° (2.0°-2.3°) after sectioning only PFL while flexing the knee from 30° to 120°,and increased 1.3°±1.2° (0.5°-2.0°) after sectioning only POP while flexing the knee from 30° to 120°.There was no significant difference between two groups. There was significant increase in external rotation as 4.1°±1.6° (2.8°-5.0°) after sectioning both POP and PFL.Comparing the POP and POP+PFL reconstruction techniques to the intact state, there were significant differences. The external tibial rotation in POP or POP+PFL reconstruction group was significant different from that in intact or PFL reconstruction group while flexing the knee from 30° to 90°.Conclusion In a LCL-intact PLC injury model, the POP and PFL function as a unit in resisting external rotation. All surgical procedures we described and tested are able to reduce the increased external rotational laxity found in the sectioned state. The PFL reconstruction is able to restore external rotation to near normal. However the techniques involving POP reconstruction over constrained external rotation during laxity testing.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the physiological and biochemical effects of intermittent fasting combined with hunger-resistant food on mice, and to evaluate the safety and beneficial effects of this regimen. METHODS: One hundred and forty-four adult ICR mice were divided into 4 groups: standard feed AL group (ad libitum intake of standard feed), hunger-resistant food AL group (ad libitum intake of hunger-resistant food), standard feed IF group (feeding standard feed and fasting on alternate days), and hunger-resistant food IF group (feeding hunger-resistant food and fasting on alternate days). The experiment lasted for 4-8 weeks and all mice drank water freely. The quality of life, body weight, fasting blood glucose, serum lipid, blood routine test, liver and kidney functions as well as the viscera indexes were examined. RESULTS: Compared to the standard feed AL group, the caloric taking and the increment of body-weight were reduced (P<0.01), and the viscera indexes of the liver and kidney were elevated (P<0.05) in the hunger-resistant food AL group and the hunger-resistant food IF group, the values of fasting blood glucose were reduced in standard feed IF group and hunger-resistant food IF group (P<0.01), the value of triglycerides was reduced in hunger-resistant food IF group (P<0.05), while the quality of life, blood routine test as well as the liver and kidney functions were not obviously affected in the hunger-resistant food AL group, standard feed IF group and hunger-resistant food IF group. CONCLUSION: The regimen of intermittent fasting combined with hunger-resistant food is safe and beneficial to metabolic regulation, such as controlling body-weight and adjusting blood glucose and serum lipid. It is expected that development of this regimen will be helpful to the control of obesity and diabetes, etc.
