1. Matrine, oxymatrine and sophordine inhibit secretion of TNF-α and expression of CD91 and CD13 in macrophage RAW264.7
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;31(4):399-403
Objective: To observe the inhibitory effects of matrine, oxymatrine and sophordine on expression of CD91 and CD13 and secretion of TNF-α in macrophage RAW264.7. Methods: Macrophages were cultured in 6-hole plate and coverslip was prepared. Then macropages were cultured one day with different concentrations(0,12. 5,25,50,100,200 mg/L) of matrine, oxymatrine and sophordine; the expression of CD91 and CD13 by immunohistochemical dyeing was analyzed by Image-Pro plus system (Media Cybemetic, Inc. , 6.0 edition). Meanwhile, the levels of TNF-α in the culture medium of macrophages were examined by ELISA. Results: Matrine, oxymatrine and sophordine could all inhibit CD91 and CD13 expression in macrophage RAW264.7, and the inhibition varied with the concentrations of matrine, oxymatrine and sophordine; the inhibitory effect of matrine was the most prominent one. Moreover, matrine, oxymatrine and sophordine also inhibited the secretion of TNF-α. Conclusion: Matrine, oxymatrine and sophordine can greatly inhibit expression of CD91 and CD13 and secretion of TNF-α in macrophage RAW264.7.

Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(10):1054-1056
Objective To explore the clinical and electrophysiological characteristics of diabetic lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy (DLRPN). Methods The clinical, electrophysiological and neuroimaging changes in 15 cases of DLRPN were investigated. Results The major clinical manifestations of 13 cases were unilateral or asymmetrical pain and progressive muscular weakness and atrophy of the proximal lower limb. The nerve conduction studies in affected nerves showed absent or reduced compound muscle action potential amplitudes and sensory responses with proportionate slowing of the conduction velocities. F waves and H reflexes were of long latencies or absent. Electromyography of affected muscles showed positive sharp waves and fibrillation potentials involving lumbar paraspinal muscles. Assessment of the motor unit action potentials (MUAPs) revealed high amplitude, long duration, and polyphasic MUAPs with reduced recruitment 50% cases have much lower R-R interval variation. Conclusions DLRPN presents disabling pain and muscular weakness and elctrophysiological examination has a paramount value in the diagnosis and evaluation of this disease

Objective To evaluate food intolerance sensitivity among 2962 health check-up receivers from the First Hospital of China Medical University. Methods Serum samples of 2962 adults were collected from January 2008 to June 2010.Serum allergen-specific IgG antibodies of 14 kinds of food were detected by ELISA.The data were analyzed by using One-way analysis of variance. Results In this study, the rate of food intolerance was 0.4%(mushrooms) to 38.0%(eggs).Higher rates of food intolerance were found in egg, crab, shrimp, milk, and cod fish(Eggs 32.5%,crabs 26.0%,shrimps 19.8%,milk 13.8%,and cod fish 12.0% respectively). However, wheat, pork, and mushroom showed relatively lower rates of food intolerance(Wheat 0.8%,pork 0.4%,and mushrooms1.4% respectively).Positive reaction to food intolerance was even stronger in women(9.4% versus 8.2%).Conclusion It is discovered by study that in general population, the diversity of intolerance among different food is associated with 4 factors: gender; age; feature of food; individual diversity. It is recommended that the status of intolerance to food in the general population be investigated by health management.

Objective To explore the mechanism of tripterygium wilfordii hook f(TWHF)for Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis(HSPN,nephrotic type)in children. Methods All the children with HSPN(nephrotic type)were divided into 3 groups casually.Method of radioactive pairs conjugating analysis was used to determine the numbers of glucocorticoid(GC)receptors(GCRs).Results were statistically analysed respectively. Results GCRs tested in all the patients with HSPN(nephrotic type)before treatment were statistically lower than those in control group of normal children;GCRs in all the patients tested after 1 week treatment with GC were lower than before treatment.Three weeks later,GCRs in patients treated with TWHF increased much higher than them without TWHF.Following up the recurring times of all the patients 3 months to 5 years, they were much more in patients treated without TWHF treatment than in patients treated with it.Conclusions TWHF treatment on HSPN(nephrotic type)is obviously effective. It can not only decrease the dosage of GC,but decrease the recurring times. One of the mechanism may be TWHF can resist the down-regulation GC to GCR,and enhance the effect of GC.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(03):-
Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are traditional dairy strains which have a long history of safe use. They are a kind of food-grade microorganisms that can be used in industry to produce lots of food and drink, such as yoghourt. In the last two decades the physiology and genetics of these bacteria have been thoroughly studied. Because of their genetic accessibility and easy to handle, LAB, in addition to their traditional applications, have been extensively developed and used for the expression of heterologous genes. So they have an important foreground in agricultural, medical and many other fields. People have developed a series of food-grade gene expression systems of LAB. LAB, especially their model strain Lactococcus lactis and their most useful food-grade induced expression system--nisin controlled gene expression system NICE and its food-grade inducer nisin, food-grade host, expressing vectors and applications in expressing heterologous proteins of NICE will be introduced.

The principles of step by step, the combination of practice and theory, the co-existing of being implicit and explicit, the equality between guidance and autonomous can be followed to construct humanities curriculum system in content, resources, teaching staff and teaching in medical colleges for nationalities. Furthermore, humanities curriculum system must insist on a fundamental concepts that the human theory is the essence of medicine, and the humanities is the basic structure of medicine and the key to success is the training of humanities teachers.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of stigma maydis polysaccharide (SMPS) on gastrointestinal movement.
METHODTaking charcoal as the indicator and taking ratio of charcoal movement, beginning time of black excretion and stool amount as the index to observe the effect of SMPS on intestinal movement in mice. Taking emthylorange as the indicator and taking the ratio of residual rate of methylorange as the index to observe the effect of SMPS on gastric emptying in mice. Taking methylene blue as the indicator and taking the time of gastric emptying and movement speed of intestinal content as the index to observe the effect of SMPS on gastrointestinal movement in rats. Observing the changes of cholecystokinin (CCK) level in plasm in rats.
RESULTCompared with control, the ratio of charcoal movement increased in mice (P <0.01). The beginning time of black excretion shortened and the stool amount increased in mice (P <0.01). The ratio of residual rate of methylorange increased in mice (P <0. 01). The time of gastric emptying prolonged in rats (P <0.01). The movement speed of intestinal content in rats accelerated (P <0.01). CCK level in plasm increased in rats (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONEffects of stigma maydis polysaccharide on gastrointestinal movement are probably related to the increasing of CCK level in plasm.
