1.Effect of vascular endothelial growth factor and phosphoinositide 3-kinase in retinopathy of prematurity
International Journal of Pediatrics 2013;(1):91-94
Vascular endothelial growth factor can induce angiogenesis in vivo.Phosphoinositide 3-kinase signaling pathway widespreads in cells, which plays important roles in cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, and angiogenesis. The phosphoinositide 3-kinase signaling pathway can activate vascular endothelial growth factor, such as hypoxia-inducible factor-1,insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ,nitric oxide synthaseand cyclooxygenase-2.The present studies have shown that the vascular endothelial growth factor and phosphoinositide 3-kinase signaling pathway play an important role in the retinopathy of prematurity.
2.Effects of Supplemented Wuling Sang on treatment of patients with primary hyperlipemia
Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(01):-
0.05). But the Wuling Sang could obviously decrease serum TG content than Simvastatin(P0.05). The adverse drug reactions were stomach discomfort(4 patiens in SWS) group, 5.71%), abdominal discomfort(2 patiens in Simvastatin group, 4.55% ) and sleeplessness(5 patiens in Simvastatin group, 11.4%) . CONCLUSION: The results show the TCM drug SWS is effective and softy on treating the patients with primary hyperlipemia.
4.Recent developments in artificial airway nursing
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(12):-
Many methods have been established in developing artificial airway since the first time that tracheotomy was developed by Egyptians and Indians 3000 years ago.Artificial airway is currently widely applied in critical care medicine, and plays an important role in the rescue of critically ill patients. It aims to improve ventilation and correct anoxia,to disencumber airway obstruction,to clean away airway secretions effectively and protect airway from risk of aspiration. This paper discussed about the nursing of tracheotomy and phlegm sucking, phlegm sucking related problems such as hypoxia, trachea hemorrhage and atelectasis, and ways to clean away secretions on air pocket. The risks of ventilator associated pneumonia, airway humidification and the physical and psychological needs were also discussed.
5.Lung inflammatory injury after cardiopulmonary bypass
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2001;14(2):164-168
Cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) can induce systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS).This review elaborated the influences of SIRS in acute lung injury after CPB.
6.Clinical Application of Transient Elastography in Liver Cirrhosis and its Complications
Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2015;(5):300-303
Liver cirrhosis is the advanced stage of various chronic liver diseases, and its complications include portal hypertension, esophageal and gastric varices, hepatocellular carcinoma, etc. Transient elastography( TE),a noninvasive method for liver stiffness measurement( LSM),has been used widely to detect liver fibrosis qualitatively and quantitatively. Recently, correlations were observed for LSM with liver cirrhosis and its complications. This article reviewed the studies focused on these correlations,as well as the clinical application of TE.
7.The variation of N400 event-related potentials during language cognition of different paradigms in stroke patients
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2013;(1):5-8
Objective To explore the cognition processes of language in stroke patients by characterizing the differences between the event-related potentials (ERPs) N400 evoked bypicture-word andsentence-wordparadigms.Methods Twenty patients with a single brain lesion resulting from a first episode of stroke were tested along with 20 normal controls.Their N400 ERPs were tested using pictures and sentences as activating stimuli and phrases composed of nouns and verbs as the target stimuli. The N400 potentials were recorded from electrodes located at Fz,Pz,T3 and T4 positions of the International 10-20 system. The N400 latencies and amplitudes and the behavioral responses of the experimental and control groups were compared. Results The latencies were longer and the amplitudes were lower in response to sentence activation than to picture activation. The differences in terms of amplitude were the greatest with N400 recorded from Pz.The responses to the target stimuli were not significantly different with regard to the types of stimuli and recording location. The average response time was longer and the error rate was higher in response to sentence activation than to picture activation. Conclusion Multiple accesses, activating stimuli and integrating processes are involved in language cognition. The brain is more sensitive and accurate in response to picture stimuli in language cognition. The response to sentence stimuli is slower, and the error rate is higher. This suggests that it is better to usc varied prime stimuli in teaching children languages.
8.Research progress of the mechanism of hepatic injury after cardiopulmonary bypass
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(08):-
Since the first launching of heart lung bypass machine in animal model in 1937,cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) has become more and more consummate, but it still brings about many complications, including pulmonary, renal and hepatic dysfunctions.Among these complications, hepatic dysfunction plays an important role in the impairment after cardiac operations. The liver function indices such as aspartate aminotransferase,glutamate-pyruvate transaminase, bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase will step up obviously during 3 to 5 days after the operation. The physiological changes deteriorate patient's condition, and even influence the prognosis. This clinical phenomenon puzzles cardiac surgeons. All these demand us to answer the following questions: Is the cardiopulmonary bypass harm the liver? What's the mechanism? We review the different researches on hepatic injury after cardiopulmonary bypass.
9.The protective effects of statins on organs after cardiopulmonary bypass to statins
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(08):-
Cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) often result systemic inflammatory response syndrome. In addition to lipid lowing effects, statins appears to exhibit pleiotropic effects such as antiinflammatory properties, improvement of endothelial dysfunction and reduction of ischemia-reperfusion injury. In this review, the author summarized advances in these respects.
10.Heat shock protein and cardioprotection
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(09):-
The defense mechinism of heat shock protein(HSP)acting as moleculars chaperons requires heat shock transcription factors as the primary mediators of the heat shock response.Increased expression of HSP may protect the heart.Overexpression of HSP can inhibit cardiomyocyte apoptosis, protect the integrity of the microtubules and the actin cytoskeleton in cardiac myocytes and endothelial cells exposed to ischemia, participate in the folding and activation of protein kinases and transcription factors such as HIF-1? and HSF1,bind to endothelial nitric oxide synthase(Enos) and stimulate its activity, and downregulate cytokine production.Hence,it is of benefit to efficiently elevate HSP expression in myocardium using pharmacological and/or gene therapy procedures without any adverse effect.
