Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2010;30(12):1241-1246
Objective To evaluate the academic level and the popularity of Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics from the point view of citation. Methods According to the information of Chinese Medical Citation Index (CMCI), the amount and distribution of the original articles in Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics cited by the journals included by CMCI were statistically analyzed. The data analysis included the percentage of cited articles, the number of citation of a single article, authors of most cited articles, geological regions of cited articles, citing journals, the self citing rate and years of citation. Results The percentage of cited papers (663 articles, 3728 times) in all published 1 182 articles in Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics from 2005 to 2009 was an average of 56.09%. The average time of original articles cited by other researchers was 5.62. The highest one was citated by 104 times. 210 articles (31.68% of total papers) were cited 5 or more times, and the all cited times from them were 2835 (76.04% of total cited times). 663 cited articles were written by 485 authors from different countries. The most frequently cited author wrote 12 papers. The number of authors with one paper cited was 386 (79.58% of total authors). The cited authors are from the mainland, HongKong, and Taiwan in China, as well as USA, Canada, France. Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin are leading cities in orthopaedic research. Beijing was the first place (32.16% of total authors). There were 445 citing journals. There was 217 items self cited; the self- citing rate is 0.058. Conclusion Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics has provided high quality articles and has a strong influence in the field of medical research. It has been become an important resource for orthopaedic researchers and a vital medical journal in China.

Objective To analyze the clinical presentation and the effects on both mothers and fetuses with HELLP syndrome induced hyregtensive disorder complicating pregrancy and to investigate the effective methods for diagnosis and treatment. Methods 15 cases of HELLP syndroms were retrospectively analyzed on material and perinatal outcomes. Results In 15case of women with HELLP syndrome, all of them presented antepartum HELLP. Mean gestational age at delivery was 34 weeks. Severe maternal complications included placental abruption,DIC ,postpartum hemorrhage, fetal distress, et al. All of them underwent cesaresn section and required transfusions with blood or blood products. 1 case of perinatal death was related to placental abruption. Conclusion HELLP syndrome is a severe obstetric complication. Better prognosis may be achiveved by early diagnosis, synthetic therapy and optimal termination of pregnancy.

Objective To review the advance of gene diagnosis and gene therapy on gastric cancer. Methods Literatures about the advance of gene diagnosis and therapy on gastric cancer were reviewed. Results Detection of tumor marker by gene technique is important for early diagnosis, follow-up and therapy evaluation of gastric cancer in clinic. But there are still many problems in gene therapy of gastric cancer. Conclusion Gene detection and gene therapy will become important supplementary means for diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer.

Objective To study the chronic neurotoxicity of aluminum through observing the adverse effect of long term intake of aluminum on the memory of rats. Methods 40 Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups and given Al2(SO4)3 through drinking water for 6 months, the concentration of Al3+ in the waters were 0.12 mg/L,40 mg/L,400 mg/L and 2 000 mg/L respectively, then passive avoidance tests were carried out.One month before pregnancy, the dams were given Al3+ of 40 mg/L and 2 000 mg/L respectively, after the offspring were born, the group given high[Al3+] was subdivided into two groups, one continuously drank the water with high [Al3+],the other drank the water without Al3+.The dams drinking water with low [Al3+] and their offspring continued to drink the same water as before. At the age of three months, all the offspring were examined with passive avoidance tests. Results The memory acquirement in all adult rats were not abnormal, but memory retention were severely damaged (P0.05).The rats continuously drinking water with high [Al3+] after birth had significant damage both in memory acquirement and in retention (P

Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(02):-
Objective To evaluate the role of MRA,IPVG and DUS in the hemodynamics studies of portal hypertension. Methods Thirty-eight patients with portal hypertension were examined with Philips Gyroscan 1.0 Tesla MR imaging system.3D-DCE MRA and 2D-PC MR were used for study of portal venous anatomy and its hemodynamics. The results were compared with those obtained from IPVG and DUS.Results 3D-DCE MRA could clearly display the anatomical imaging of portal venous system and its imaging quality was better than that of IPVG.The data of hemodynamics from 2D-PC MR including diameter, blood velocity and blood flow were closely correlated to those from DUS.Conclusion As a non-invasive technique,MRA can display the anatomy of portal venous system and measure its hemodynamics exactly. It should be applied as the first choice in hemodynamics evaluation for portal hypertension.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(05):-
Objective To study the relationship between in situ telomerase activity and the expressin of bcl-2 and p53 proteins in human ovarian epithelial tumors(OETs), and explore their effect in pathogenesis of ovarian cystadenocarcinoma. Methods The telomerase activity of ovarian epithelial tumors was measured by in situ telomerase activity labeling (ISLT), and bcl-2 and p53 expression was detected by SP immunohistochemical method. Results ⑴The positive rates of telomerase in ovarian cystadenocarcinomas(OCAC), their surrounding ovarian tissues(SOT),borderline cystadenomas(BCA),and cystadenomas(CA)were 92 3%(24/26), 0(0/26), 42 8%(9/21) and 0(0/15) respectively, and the positive rate was significantly higher in OCAC than that in SOT, BCA and CA(P0 05); ⑵The positive rates of Bcl-2 in OCAC, SOT, BCA and CA were 65 38%(17/26), 0(0/26), 52 38%(11/21) and 26 66%(4/15) respectively, which were significantly higher in OCAC and BCA than those in SOT and CA(P0 05). Conclusion The results indicated that overexpression of bcl-2 protein may be related to telomerase activation, the telomerase activation induced by bcl-2 overexpression may result in malignant transformation of ovarian epithelials, and p53 mutation may not affect telomerase activity during ovarian cystadenocarcinogenesis.

Objective To investigate the response of retinal ganglion cells (RGC)in detached and reattached retina in adult rats, and the effect of IL-1beta antibody and IL-1Ra on the loss of RGC. Methods A total of 73 Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were subretinally injected with healon GV(1.4% hyaluronate)and retrograde labeled with fluorogold (FG), and 10 ng IL-1Ra and 500 ng IL-1beta antibody were injected into the subretinal space combined with healon GV. The retinal flakes were observed under the fluoroscope and the number of RGC was counted 2 hours, 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 20, 50, and 90 days after detachment; 10 days after detachment and 30 days after reattachement; 90 days after detachment and 20 days after reattachement, and 1 and 10 days after injection with IL-1beta antibody and IL-1Ra,respectively. And the control group was only developed an intraocular injection of the same valume of healon GV. Result Two hours after detachment, the RGC loss was found, reached the peak at first day, and decreased gradually. RGC loss was also found in the non-detached area. The reattachment 10 days after detachment (early reattachment) stopped the loss of RGC, and the reattachment 90 days after detachment (late reattachment) promoted the loss, which rested on a certain level. Subretinal space injection of IL-1Ra and IL-1beta antibody decreased the loss of RGCs in the detached retina. Conclusion The RGCs loss were found both in the detached and attached retina. Early reattachment may stop the loss of RGC, and late reattachment may promote the loss. Both IL-1beta antibody and IL-1Ra have neuroprotective effect on RGC.
