Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
Smooth muscle cell (SMC) proliferation, platelet free calcium level and aggregation of experimental atherosclerotic rabbits were investigated in this study. Aortic SMC ofhyperlipidemic rabbits in vitro showed higher growth activity than did normal rabbit SMC. And also hyperlipidemic serum stimulated SMC to proliferate at a significantly greater rate than control serum. Moreover, the level of platelet free calcium and the platelet aggregation was also higher in hyperlipidemic rabbits, indicating that activitated platelets possibly release more PDGF to act as a stimulator to SMC proliferation and calcium is an important factor to activate platelets. Furthermore, SMC from 8501-treated rabbits appeared lower proliferative rate than thecells from hyperlipidemic rabbits. And serum from those rabbits inhibited SMC proliferation compared with hyperlipidemic serum, the inhibitory effect was even stronger than that of normal serum. It may be relevant to the favorable effects of 8501 to TXA2/PGI2 balance.

Objective To explore the relationship between depression and anxiety and peripheral blood cell counts ( white blood cell ( WBC) ,neutrophil ( NEU) ,lymphocyte ( LYM) ,red blood cell ( RBC) and hemoglobin ( HGB) ) of heroin?dependent patients receiving methadone maintenance treatment ( MMT) . Methods Two hundred and fifty?two MMT heroin addicts, who had received peripheral blood tests within the week prior to the study, were administered with a general information questionnaire,SDS and SAS. The results of blood tests of these patients were compared with those of 109 healthy people in physical examina?tion. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze associations between indicators of peripheral blood cell counts and depressive and anxiety symptoms. Results Compared with healthy controls,MMT patients had significantly higher proportions of elevated WBC(14.7%vs 3.7%),NEU(12.7% vs 2.8%) and LYM(9.9%vs 2.8%) counts (all P<0.05),and low RBC(10.3%vs 4.6%) counts and HGB(11.5%vs 4.6%) concentra?tion (both P<0.05). Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that blood cell counts of WBC ( β=0.261, P<0.01),NEU ( β=0.264, P<0.01),LYM ( β=0.196, P=0.003) and RBC ( β=-0.144, P=0.021) were independently associated with depression;and blood cell counts of WBC ( β=0.298, P<0.01) and LYM ( β=0.269, P<0.01) were independently associated with anxiety. Conclusion Improving the in?flammatory and malnutrition status may be helpful for reducing depressive and anxiety symptoms of MMT her?oin addicts.

OBJECTIVETo compare shear bond strength (SBS) between composite resin core (CRC) disposed with three different surface treatments and glass ionomer cement (GIC), so that to provide theoretical basis for luting of crowns to CRC.
METHODSAccording to three different surface treatments, thirty blocks of CRC were randomly and equally divided into three groups: Roughening with diamond grit bur(RDB), RDB plus etching with Gluma Etch 35 Gel (RDBE), RDB plus coating with Adper Single Bond2 adhensive (RDBA). All CRC were cemented with GIC. All specimens were preserved in 37 degrees C water for 24 h, then SBS tests for eight specimens in each group were performed using a universal testing machine at a constant crosshead speed of 0.5 mm x min(-1). The surface topography of one CRC of each group was observed using field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) at 100 amplification. The interface between CRC and GIC was observed using FE-SEM at 500 amplification. Then the nature of failure was also recorded using FE-SEM at 25 amplification and the data were analyzed with a Kruskal-Wallis H test.
RESULTSThe surface topography of each group and the interface between CRC and GIC observed using FE-SEM were significantly different, but significant differences on the nature of failure between groups were not found (P > 0.10). SBS of each group was (4.28 +/- 0.18) MPa for RDB, (4.65 +/- 0.17) MPa for RDBE, (2.39 +/- 0.21) MPa for RDBA, respectively (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe SBS between CRC and GIC is affected by the surface treatments of CRC.

Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2015;(10):606-611
Background:Tripterygium glycosides(TG)is effective for treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC)in clinical practice, however, the underlying mechanism has not been clarified yet. Aims:To investigate the therapeutic effect of TG on dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced experimental colitis in mice and its possible mechanisms. Methods:Sixty healthy male BALB/ c mice were randomly divided into six groups:model control group, low, medium and high-dose TG group, blank control group and normal control group. Mice in the first four groups drank 5% DSS freely for 7 days to induce experimental colitis;simultaneously, distilled water,9. 01,27. 03 or 81. 09 mg/(kg·d)TG were given intragastrically for 21 days in these four groups, respectively. Histopathological changes of colonic mucosal tissues were observed;expressions of TLR4 mRNA and protein were determined by RT-PCR and Western blotting;expression of NF-κB p65 was detected by immunohistochemistry;concentrations of IL-1α,TNF-α and IL-13 were measured by ELISA. Results:Tissue damage and inflammation in varying degrees were observed in colonic mucosal tissues in TG groups with different dosage, but all were less severe than those in model control group. Expressions of TLR4 mRNA,TLR4 protein, and NF-κB p65 in colonic mucosal tissues,as well as concentrations of IL-1α and TNF-α in supernatant of colonic homogenate were significantly lower in TG groups than those in model control group(P < 0. 01). These parameters in medium and high-dose TG groups were significantly lower than those in low-dose TG group(P < 0. 05),but higher than those in blank control group and normal control group(P < 0. 05). Except for TNF-α,no significant differences were seen between medium and high-dose TG groups(P > 0. 05). Conclusions:TG exerts a protective effect on DSS-induced experimental colitis in mice. The underlying mechanism of its anti-inflammatory effect might be related with the inhibition of TLR4 / NF-κB signaling pathway activation and subsequently suppressing downstream proinflammatory cytokines expression and secretion.
