Objective Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) has been proposed to be used as an endogenous cardioprotective agent. The aim of the present study was to investigate the anti-apoptosis effect of HGF on rat cardiomyocytes after being irradiated by single dose gamma ray. Methods The study was performed using primary cell cultures of cardiomyocytes isolated from hearts of new-born rats. After being cultured for 72h in vitro, cardiomyocytes were irradiated with gamma ray in a single dose of 20Gy. In the HGF treated groups, cells were incubated with HGF in the dose of 20 and 40ng/ml 3h prior to irradiation, respectively. At 48h post-irradiation, the concentration of LDH in the supernatant of cell culture was determined. Apoptosis and cell cycle were determined with flow cytometry. Results LDH concentration in the supernatant of cell culture of irradiated cardiomyocytes was increased significantly compared to that of un-irradiated cells (P

Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(04):-
Objective To establish the method of acetaldehyde and acraldehyde in water with headspace gas chromatography. Methods Acetaldehyde and acraldehyde in the water samples were extracted by headspace technology, then analyzed with DB-624 capillary column. In the same time, they were determined with GC by controlling the temperature. Retention time of the peaks was used for qualitative analysis, while external standard method was used for quantitative analysis. Results In 3.0-250 ?g/L, the regression equation for acetaldehyde was y=406.83 x+0.847,r=0.999 9,the lowest detection limit was 1.0 ?g/L. In 6.2-500 ?g/L, the regression equation for acraldehyde was y=207.53 x-0.450,r=0.999 8,the lowest detection limit was 3.3 ?g/L. The rates of recovery were 90.0%-95.5%,and RSDs were 2.1%-3.7%. Conclusion This method is simple, rapid, sensitive and is applicable to the determination of acetaldehyde and acraldehyde in water.

Objective]Analysis about how Dai Sigong expounded and treated diarrhea. [Methods]Look up relevant literature, list Dai Sigong ’s expositions about diarrhea’ pathogenesis and treatments, and summarize how Dai Sigong treated diarrhea. [Results] Dai Sigong generalized some methods about diarrhea treatment, such“diaphoresis”“purgative method”“emesis method”“tonifying method”“harmonyzing method”“invigorating spleen for diuresis”“invigorating qi for ascending”“eliminating”dampness”“clearing interior heat”and so on.[Conclusion]Depanding on predecessors’ discourse analysis, Dai Sigong inherited Zhu Danxi’s academic thought, summariied diarrhea’ pathogenesis and treatments, made a breakthrough to a thought that“It’s noneffective not using diuresis to eliminate dampness”and put forword that“there are many ways to cure diarrhea by eliminating dampness”. It provided more means to therapy diarrhea for descendants and had great meanings to consult.

ObjectiveTo investigate the management of myonephropathic-metabolic syndrome (MNMS) after acute arterial occlusion. Methods17 cases of MNMS caused by acute arterial occlusion were restrospectively reviewed. Results5 cases were cured, 6 cases died of sudden cardiac arrest induced by hyperkalemia, and another 6 cases died of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) complicated by acute renal failure. The total mortality rate was 71% and the amputation rate was 41%.ConclusionEarly revascularization should be performed in acute arterial occlusion. In patients with compartment syndrome, fasciotomy should be performed as soon as possible. Early amputation of gangrene limb is very important to prevent MNMS. Early and effective fluid resuscitation and alkalinization is the key point to prevent ARF, early hemodialysis for ARF is very important in treating MNMS.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2006;4(6):606-10
OBJECTIVE: To study the mechanism of Huoxue Qianyang Granule (HXQYG), a traditional Chinese compound medicine, in revising the left ventricular hypertrophy of hypertension. METHODS: Spontaneous hypertension rats (SHR) were randomly divided into seven groups: untreated group, Songling Xuemaikang (SLXMK)-treated group, captopril-treated group, high-, medium- and low-dose HXQYG-treated groups, and normal control group. The systolic blood pressure (SBP) and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) were measured. The content of angiotensin II (Ang II) in left ventricular tissue was determined by radioimmunoassay. The expressions of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) protein and mRNA in left ventricular tissue were analyzed separately by immunohistochemical method and RT-PCR. RESULTS: (1) SBP and LVMI were higher in the untreated group than those in the normal control group, and they were lower in the high- and medium-dose HXQYG-treated groups than those in the untreated group, but higher than those in the captopril-treated group, and without significant difference as compared to those in the SLXMK-treated group. (2) The content of Ang II and expressions of ACE protein and mRNA in the left ventricular tissue in the untreated group were higher than those in the normal control group, and they were lower in the HXQYG-treated groups than those in the untreated group, but higher than those in the captopril-treated group, and without significant difference as compared to those in the SLXMK-treated group. CONCLUSION: HXQYG can reverse the left ventricular hypertrophy of SHR, which may be due to decreasing the amount of Ang II and expressions of ACE protein and mRNA in the left ventricular tissue.
