5.Auditory Feedback and The Plasticity of Vocal Learning in Songbirds
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(04):-
Songbirds and humans both rely critically on auditory feedback for learning and maintaining accurate vocalizations. During vocal learning, juvenile songbirds learn to sing by using auditory feedback to match their variable song patterns to a memorized tutor model. During song maintaining, adult songbirds monitor the integrality and accuracy of its song on-line according to auditory feedback. This form of learning requires auditory-vocal integration. The output of songs and the information of auditory feedback are integrated in some areas of the bird's brain, and then direct next vocal activity. In recent years, the lateral magnocellular nucleus of the anterior neostriatum (LMAN) has been demonstrated that it is necessary for feedback-dependent song decrystallization, and LMAN neurons exhibit highly selective responses to auditory presentation of the bird's own song (BOS). Moreover, the discovery of mirror neurons in the high vocal centre (HVC) also provides a significant clue for further study in songbirds. Here the progress of auditory feedback and the plasticity of vocal learning in songbirds are reviewed in recent years.

RESULTS: The experiment showed that seeds of Semen Euphorbia were directly broken into powder and heated at 55 ?C for 30 min. The oil productivity ranged from 51% to 53% . CONCLUSION: The heating temperature has an influence on fat oil and laxative constitutents' content, whereas pretreatment of seed and heating time lack the relationship to.
7.Efficacy of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy combined with hepatic arterial chemoembolization for patients with primary hepatic cancer
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(07):-
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy(3D-CRT) combined with transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization(TACE) for patients with primary liver cancer. Methods From July 2003 to July 2006,followed by transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization(TACE,mitomycin + 5-fluorouracil + pirarubicin) 3 times in 6 weeks,59 patients with primary hepatic cancer received noncoplanarity multifield 3D-CRT by using Leibinger three-dimensional stereotactic conformal radiotherapy planning system,Varian 600C/D 6MeV X liner accelerator and multileaf collimator at a dose of 60-65Gy/9-11 fractions/15-22 days. Results Of 59 patients,58 cases received a complete course of 3D-CRT combined with TACE.CT results showed that the rates of complete response(CR),partial response(PR),no change(NC) and progression(PD) rate were 57.6%(34/59),35.6%(21/59),3.4%(2/59) and 3.4%(2/59),respectively.Overall response rate(CR+PR) was 93.2%(55/59).Jaundice occurred one week after treatment in one patient, who died of acute hepatic function failure. No serious adverse effects or intoxication were found in the remaining 58 patients. Conclusions The combination of 3D-RCT with TACE was an effective treatment for patients with primary hepatic cancer.
8.GINSENOSIDE FACILITATES LEARNING AND MEMORY IN AGED MICE
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 2004;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the effect of ginsenoside on degeneration of learning and memory in aged mice and the mechanism. Method Eighty female C57BL/6J mice aged 20-mo were randomly divided into control group and three ginsenoside treatment groups at dosage of 25,50,100 mg/(kg bw?d) respectively by drinking. In addition, 20 female C57BL/6J mice aged 3 mo were used to be young control group. Eight mo later, the learning and memory abilities of the mice were checked by Morris water maze. Thereafter, the mice were killed by decapitation, and their serum was collected to determine the level of SOD, GSH-Px and MDA. Hippocampal morphology was examined by Nissl stain; and the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in hippocampus was studied using Western blot method. Results 50,100 mg/(kg bw?d) ginsenosides administration could significantly shorten the escape latency of the aged mice in Morris water maze. Furthermore, the alleviated oxidative stress and up-regulated expression of BDNF were observed in 50, 100 (mg/kg?d) ginsenosides groups compared with aged control group. Serum level of GSH-Px was higher in 25 (mg/kg bw?d) ginsenosides group compared to that of aged control group. The number of Nissl-positive cell had no significant difference between all groups. Conclusion 50,100 mg/(kg bw?d) ginsenoside can significantly delay the degeneration of learning and memory in aged mice by lowering oxidative damage and up-regulating BDNF expression in hippocampus.
9.Studies on the Influencial Factors Affecting the Efficiency of Chinese Materia Medica Extraction
