OBJECTIVE:
To solve the ESB bus performance and safety problems caused by the explosive growth of the hospital's business, and to ensure the stable interaction of the hospital's business system.
METHODS:
Taking the construction of our hospital's information system as an example, we used AlwaysOn, load balancing and other technologies to optimize the ESB bus architecture to achieve high availability and scalability of the hospital's ESB bus.
RESULTS:
The ESB bus high-availability architecture effectively eliminates multiple points of failure. Compared with the traditional dual-machine Cluster solution, the security is significantly improved. The nodes based on load balancing can be scaled horizontally according to the growth of the hospital's business volume.
CONCLUSIONS
The construction of the ESB bus high-availability architecture effectively solves the performance and security issues caused by business growth, and provides practical experience for medical information colleagues. It has certain guiding significance for the development of regional medical information.

2.Multilevel Secure Recovery Management of Medical Databases in Hospital Information System.
Journal of Korean Society of Medical Informatics 2000;6(2):17-25
In medical database systems of security environments, multiple versions are used so as to prevent covert channel between transactions with different security level. Like the existing database systems, multilevel secure medical database systems can also occur various failures. Although the system was fault, the consistency and security for medical information must be guaranteed to establish reliable system from failures. It is difficult issues to prevent covert channel and maintain the serializability of transactions from various failures. This paper proposes multilevel secure recovery algorithms to solve failures from dynamic multiversion control and proves the correctness as to them. The proposed algorithms are very good for the multilevel secure reliability of long read-only transactions.

In this study, using the HL7 protocol, we developed patient management system gateway which is composed of 2 parts; message transferring-receiving and sentcncc generating-parsing part. To make the gateway more transplantable, it was developed on the PC operated with Windows OS. To make the gateway more productive, it was developed with Visual Basic 6.0. The database was built into MS SQL. Server which is most optimized on MS Windows NT system environment. This gateway system has the advantage of easy data-exchange capability between the patient management systems of medical facility and the messages transferred can he managed systematically and he transplanted easily into PC base hospital information system.

Journal of Korean Society of Medical Informatics 2000;6(4):15-22
In this study, we developed an order communication system (OCS) gateway, which observe the protocol of HL7 standard and is operated on PC. In the aspect of architecture, the OCS gateway consists of three modules, which are message transmission/reception, data processing, and security. In the aspect of user interface, the OCS gateway consists of two main screens, which are order data management and message transmission. The main function of the OCS gateway is to convert the order records such as pharmacy, observation and diagnostic study, radiology, other diagnostic study, and treatment to a message, which observe the protocol that presented by HL7 standard, and transmit the message to other OCS gateway. To enforce the security of this gateway, we applied a hybrid security method using both Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) and Data Encryption Standard (DES). With the developed OCS gateway, different OCS systems in the inside and outside of the country can exchange their order data effectively and safely. Because it is developed for PC base Windows operating system, this gateway is more transplantable to the existing hospital information system (HIS) which is constructed on PC.

Recently, it becomes conspicuous that the network should have enough communication bandwidth and be organized with steadiness to operate and support hospital information system successfully. Seoul National University Hospital completed to reconstruct legacy network which had been used since 1995. We had a consultation to diagnose the current problems and reconstructed the network according to the consultation. The design of network architecture was mainly focused on the circuit route in case of error condition and the suitable bandwidth for the easy communication. We also regulated the use of unsuitable protocols which might broadcast inappropriate data packets over the whole network. After 6 months of operation we evaluated the performance of newly constructed network. The average traffic rate from the input port of main servers was 0.5% and that from the output port was 6% separately. The average traffic rate on the overall ATM backbone showed around 1 %.From the result, we concluded that the newly constructed network had such an enough capability supporting hospital information system without any interruption. Furthermore, we expect that it will be sufficient to support the additional traffic increment by PACS and group ware applications.

9.The practiced experiences of a PACS.
Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2009;33(1):31-33
PACS is a long-term and complex systematic project. The system needs support of hardwares and softwares. The functions of the PACS and the context of integration between PACS and other systems must be specified in details. This paper introduces experiences of a PACS on sides of system environment, system technology and system relationships.
