Objective Women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) are at risk to develop Type 2 diabetes mellitus ( DM2).The aim of this study is to compare the effect of three diagnostic criteria on the prevalence of GDM.Methods 2864 pregnant women receiving obstetric care at 24 to 28 weeks of gestation at Peking University First Hospital, underwent the 75 g oral glucose tolerance test for routine GDM screening. The pregnancies were evaluated bythe American Diabetes Association (ADA 2004) Cuideline, the new criteria which was proposed by the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG 2010) based on the HAPO study, not by the criteria of American College of Obstetricians and Chinese Obstetrics and Gynecology (6th edition 2005).Venous plasma glucose was measured by the IDMS-traceable glucose oxidase method. Results The mean age of the women was 30 years.590 women were diagnosed with GDM using the IADPSG criteria.According to the IADPSG standard,GDM diagnostic rate reached 20.6%.The diagnostic rate of new criteria was increased by 307% and 199% compared with the Chinese Obstetrics and Gynaecology (6th edition) and the old ADA standard, respectively. If increasing the number of abnormal glucose values in the IADPS standard to 2 or more, the number of positive cases dropped to 227 people. The diagnostic rate of GDM plummeted to 7.93%,similar with that of the old ADA diagnostic criteria (6.8%).Conclusions The diagnosis rate of GDM was significantly higher using the IADPSG criteria, due to more stringent glucose abnormality recommended by the IADPSG.

[Objective] To explore the risk factors for mortality of bloodstream infections in the patients with hematologic diseases,so as to provide evidence for reasonable and effective application of treatments.[Methods] The clinical data of 242 cases of bloodstream infections who were hospitalized from Jan 2012 to Jun 2016 were analyzed retrospectively, then the analysis was performed for risk factors. The statistical analysis was processed by SPSS 19.0.[Results] A total of 266 strains of pathogens were isolated, including 99 strains of gram-positive bacteria, accounting for 37.2%,and 164 strains of gram-negative bacteria, accounting for 61.7%.Multivariate analysis showed that the significant independent risk factors for mortality were active states of hematologic diseases (P =0.007,OR =5.622,95% CI 1.586 ~ 19.924),presentation with septic shock(P =0.007,OR =4.978,95% CI 1.560 ~15.884),cardiac insufficiency (P =0.001,OR =11.878,95% CI 2.760 ~ 51.120),level of albumin less than 35 g/L (P =0.036,OR =3.468,95% CI 1.087 ~ 11.066),polymicrobial infection (P =0.010,OR =6.024,95% CI 1.540 ~ 23.563),and Staphylococcus haemolyticus (P =0.001,OR =19.308,95% CI 3.392 ~ 109.888)/Enterococcus (P =0.002,OR =15.266,95% CI 2.817 ~82.728) infection. The survival curves show that the inappropriate initial antimicrobial therapy group or presentation with any one of the independent risk factors had a lower probability of survival than the control group.[Conclusions] Bloodstream infections in patients may cause high mortality rate,so it is necessary that we use antibiotic reasonably and spare no effort to reduce the mortality rate by appropriate application of antimicrobial therapy and effective intervention of the risk factors.

AIM:To explore the ability of different group B streptococci ( GBS) strains on inducing platelet activation.METHODS:Six strains of GBS, separated from the septic patients with thrombocytopenia, were used as the inducers.Light transmission aggregometry was used to measure platelet aggregation.Scanning electron microscopy ( SEM) was performed to investigate the interaction of platelets with bacteria. The expression of platelet CD62P, Toll-like receptor 2 ( TLR2) and TLR4 was determined by flow cytometry and Western blotting.Furthermore, the activity of platelet TLR2 (or TLR4) was blocked by anti-TLR2 (or anti-TLR4) monoclonal antibody, and the platelet aggregation induced by GBS was detected.RESULTS:Only 3 of 6 GBS strains isolated from the septic patients induced platelet aggregation and up-regulated the expression of CD62P and TLR2 in the platelets (P<0.05), but not TLR4.Incubation with anti-TLR2 anti-body, but not anti-TLR4 antibody, significantly blocked platelet aggregation induced by GBS.CONCLUSION:Some GBS strains from the patients are able to trigger platelet activation in vitro, and platelet TLR2 may play an important role in the interaction between GBS and platelets.

Objective:
To investigate the correlation of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection status and genotyping characteristics with the result of liquid-based thin-layer cytology (TCT) of the cervix in the female physical examiners in Xi'an.
Methods:
The data of 5 163 female physical examiners who underwent HPV and TCT screening simultaneously in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University From June 2017 to June 2018 were collected to analyze HPV infection, genotyping and their relationship with TCT.
Results:
Among the 5 163 examiners, 527 (10.21%) were HPV-positive, and the infection rate in the examiners over 60 years old was the highest [12.26% (57/465)]. Among HPV-positive examiners, the infection rate of single genotype was higher than that of multiple genotypes infection [75.90% (400/527) vs. 24.10% (127/527),

To examine the role of nitric oxide in the beta-adrenergic vasodilation of epicardial coronary arteries in dogs, 12 dogs were instrumented for measurement of left anterior descending coronary artery diameter by transthoracic echocardiography before and after dobutamine (5 microg/kg/min IV) with and without intracoronary infusion of NG-monomethyl-L-arginine (L-NMMA) (1 mg/kg). In all 12 dogs, the diameter of left anterior descending coronary artery increased significantly from 2.35 +/- 0.25 mm to 2.59 +/- 0.24 mm (P<0.001) after dobutamine administration. In 6 of the 12 dogs, the percent change in left anterior descending coronary artery diameter induced by dobutamine decreased significantly from 12.5% +/- 8.6% to -1.5% +/- 5.4% (P<0.05) after the administration of intracoronary L-NMMA (1 mg/kg for 5 min) to block nitric oxide synthesis from L-arginine. The study demonstrated that nitric oxide formation contributes to the beta-adrenergic dilatory response of epicardial coronary arteries to dobutamine in dogs.
