Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2000;0(04):-
Objective To study the effect of angiotensin II in its different concentrations and different action time on VEC apoptosis and the expression of Fas, Bcl-2 in vascular endothelial cells (VEC) and to study the influences of enoxaparin on the above roles. Methods Flow cytometer was used to measure the apoptosis ratio and the expression of Fas, Bcl-2 which were induced by angiotensin II in its different concentrations and different action time, and influenced by enoxaparin. Results Apoptosis ratio(1.86?0.18,30.62?4.20;1.67?0.15,30.08?4.41)and the expression of Fas(1.13?0.16,14.85?1.47;1.13?0.16,15.67?1.97), Bcl-2 (2.38?0.43,9.62?1.81;2.38?0.43,12.33?1.73)were induced and increased by angiotensin II with the increase of concentrations and action time. Enoxaparin had an effect on apoptosis ratio and the expression of Fas, Bcl-2, which were induced by angiotensin II(30.62?4.20,18.31?2.64;14.85?1.47,7.28?1.36;9.62?1.81,16.05?1.79). Conclusions Apoptosis ratio and the expression of Fas, Bcl-2 may be induced and increased by angiotensin II with the increase of the concentrations and the action time. Enoxaparin may have the reduce effect on apoptosis ratio and the expression of Fas and Bcl-2 in vascular endothelial cells.

AIM: To investigate the changes of bladder volume , pressures and pelvic nerve firing induce by different speeds and ways of instillation .METHODS:Female SD rats (n=20) were randomly divided into 2 groups. The rats in group A was performed using 3-F polyethylene tubing inserted into the bladder through the urethra .The rats in group B were performed using 3-F tubing inserted into the dome of the bladder and secured by silk suture .The rats in both groups were infused with saline into the bladder at different speeds of 50, 100, 200 and 400μL/min.The changes of bladder vol-ume and pressure were recorded by urodynamic measuring devices .The changes of pelvic nerve firing during instillation were recorded by multi-channel physiologic recorder .RESULTS:In group A, the maximum firing frequency , bladder leak point pressure ( BLPP) and maximum voiding pressure ( MVP) were increased with the increase in the instillation speed . No significant difference of the maximum bladder capacity (MBC) at different speeds was observed .In group B, the maxi-mum firing frequency had no significant difference at different speeds .MBC was decreased with the increase in the instilla-tion speed , and exhibited significant decrease at 200 and 400 μL/min.No significant difference of BLPP and MVP at dif-ferent speeds was observed .Compared with group A , the maximum firing frequency and MBC in group B significantly de-creased at different speeds .However , BLPP and MVP in group B were higher than those in group A at the speeds of 50 and 100 μL/min.CONCLUSION:Different instillation speeds with the method of group A will not change the bladder volume but influence the pelvic nerve firing , so the process of method A may take various speeds according to different aims .How-ever, process of method B at the speed of over 200 μL/min may not be good to MBC, thus instillation under 200 μL/min is re-commended .

AIM:To investigate the effect of Epstain-Barr virus latent membrane protein 1 (EBV-LMP1) on proliferation and cell cycle of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells. METHODS:The expression of EBV-LMP1 was detected by immunohistochemical method (LSAB). Proliferation of NPC cells was identified by MTT method. Cell cycle percentage was detected by flow cytometry analysis. RESULTS: OD value of EBV-LMP1 expressive NPC cells L-CEN1 was much higher than that of both EBV-LMP1 negative NPC cells V-CEN1 and CNE1 ( P 0.05).CONCLUSION:The expression of EBV-LMP1 on NPC cell might cause some change of cell cycle and enhance cell proliferation.

AIM: To explore the effect of EBV infection on growth and apoptosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) cell line.METHODS: NPC cell line CNE1 was directly infected by Epstein Barr virus (EBV). The expression of EBV-latent membrane protein 1 (EBV-LMP1) and bcl-2 were detected by immunohistochemistry method (LSAB). The growth of NPC cells was identified by MTT method. Apoptotic carcinoma cells were detected by flow cytometry analysis and the terminal deoxynucletidyl transferase-medicated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) methods. RESULTS: EBV-LMP1 was positive in CNE1 infected by EBV(E-CNE1). Compared with CEN1, the growth of E-CNE1 apparently increased ( P

Objective To investigate the correlation of pathology factors and prognosis of gastrointestinal stroma tumors (GIST). Methods The expression of CD117, CD34, SMA, S-100 and Ki-67 in 91 GIST cases were studied by Envision method of immunohistocbemistory;Sequently, the relationship of the location, the size, the hemorrhage, cellular necrosis, stroma mucus, the mitosis, Ki-67 expression and the prognosis were analyzed by SPSS 12.0. Results The positive rate of CD117, CD34, SMA, S-100 were 80.21%, 73.63 %, 34.07 %, 7.69 % respectively. There had significant difference between the location, the mitosis, Ki-67 expression and the prognosis; but no significant difference between the location, the hemorrhage, cellular necrosis, stroma mucus, CD117 expression and the prognosis. Conclusion The tumor's size, mitosis, and Ki-67 expression are associated with prognosis; CD117 expression and prognosis. Even more, Ki-67 expression may be a more precise factor to judge the tumor's biological behaviour compared to the mitosis. As a wally classified method, the Flecther classification is worth to spread.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of antiviral agents in treating of severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS). METHODS Based on the particular data (including medical history, examiuations and treatments) of 1702 patients of with SARS which were offered by the Health Bureau of Guangdong Province, the inpact factors of death and the course of diseases of SARS were retrospectively analyzed with unifactorial and multifactors statistic analysis methods. RESULTS It did not show any signs that the death rate could be decreased by the six antiviral agents in common use,but vidarabine could help to shorten the course of disease(OR=1.399,P=0.025),while oseltamivir might be prolonged the course of disease(OR=0.708,P=0.000). CONCLUSIONS The data showed that the effect of the six antiviral agents for curing SARS is limited, and a new antiviral treatment for SARS should be explored further.

Endothelial to mesenchymal transition(EndMT) plays a major role during organism development, and also contributes to several adult cardiovascular diseases.EndMT-derived fibroblast-like cells are common in atherosclerotic lesions.Pro-atherosclerosis factors, such as oxidative stress, hypoxia, inflammatory cytokines and oscillatory fluid shear stress can promote EndMT.EndMT is closely associated with plaque calcification, and unstable and ruptured plaque phenotype that may prone to cause clinical events.EndMT may be another key step in the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis. Here, we reviewed the role played by endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EndMT) and its key regulators in atherosclerosis.
