1.The effect of aerobic exercise on serum IL-4 and TNF-alpha of patients with allergic rhinitis.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2013;27(23):1321-1323
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the effect of aerobic exercise on immune factor IL-4, TNF-alpha in patients with allergic rhinitis, which provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of allergic rhinitis.
METHOD:
Thirty-two allergic rhinitis patients were selected and divided into a control group (14 people) and the experimental group (18 people). During the treatment, both groups receive conventional symptomatic treatment. Meanwhile, aerobic exercise therapy is applied to the experimental group for 40 - 60 minutes a day, 3 - 4 days a week. Serum IL-4, TNF-alpha and allergic rhinitis symptoms graded scoring were tested before and after 6 month therapy.
RESULT:
After six months of exercise intervention, the 11-4, and TNF-alpha levels of experimental group were significantly lower than the level of control group. The symptoms score is also significantly decreased in experimental group.
CONCLUSION
Aerobic exercise had good therapeutic effect in patients with allergic rhinitis. The mechanism may be that aerobic exercise can reduce the level of IL-4 and TNF-alpha, which can relieve infiltration and activation of inflammatory cells.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the drug susceptibility of clinical isolates in local region for using antibiotic reasonably. METHODS Totally 3 170 strains of clinical isolates were identified by API and Microscan and tested for drug resistance against antimicrobial agents by K-B method. WHONET5.4 was applied for analysis. RESULTS The commonly encountered bacteria were Pseudomonas aeruginosa (24.3%), Acinetobacter baumannii (10.9%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (10.4%), Escherichia coli (8.9%), and Staphylococcus aureus (SA,8.0%). In Gram-negative isolates, the resistance rate to meropenem was 19.7%, and to piperacillin-tazobactam was 26.5%. The incidences of E.coli and K. pneumoniae isolates producing extended spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) were 49.1% and 33.5%, respectively. In Gram-positive isolates, the susceptibility rate to vancomycin and teicoplanin both was 100.0%. The oxacillin resistant rates of SA and coagulase negative Staphylococcus (CNS) were 54.2.0% and 82.3%. CONCLUSIONS The production ratio of ESBLs and oxacillin resistance of bacteria in local region are high. It is important to promote the rational use of antimicrobial agents and take effective contaminant methods to reduce resistant rates of bacteria and dissemination of multi-resistant bacteria.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of rapid angulation rotation traction for lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion. Methods A total of 88 patients (66 male and 22 female;age: 18-65), with a history of 2 days to 10 years were analyzed. Among them 20 cases were central protrusion 68 cases were lateral protrusion. Traction range: 60-65 mm, angle: 20°-25°, rotation degree: 20°-25°, traction time: 3 s-1 min. The process of treatment was computer designed. The traction was then 1 to 3 times, with a interval of 4-7 days between two treatments. Results The effective rate was 96% for the case with history <1 month 96% and 85% for cases with history >1 month (P<0.01). The effective rate was 62% for central protrusion, and 87% for lateral protrusion respectively. χ2 test showed the difference was not significant. Conclusion The rapid angulation rotation is an effective treatment for lumbar inter-vertebral disc protrusion and this non operative method should be used as early as possible.

Objective To study the diagnostic value of common inflammatory markers in patients with infectious diseases. Methods One hundred sepsis patients, 100 viral infection patients,100 pulmonary tuberculosis patients and 100 gonorrhea patients were analyzed retrospectively. The contents of procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), haptoglobin (HP), ceruloplasmin (CER), α1-acid glycoprotein (α1-AAG), α1-antitrypsin (α1-AAT), white blood cell count (WBC) and erythrocyte sedimetation rate (ESR) were measured. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve), sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, Youden's index, positive and negative likelihood ratios and total coincidence rate were calculated respectively. Results The area under the ROC curve, sensitivity, specificity, Youden's index and positive likelihood ratios, positive predictive value and total coincidence rate of PCT in sepsis patients were 0. 895, 0.84, 0.92,0.76, 10.50, 0.91 and 0.88, respectively, which were superior to CRP, HP, CER, α1-AAG, α1-AAT, WBC and ESR. Conclusions PCT is a better inflammatory reactive parameter than other parameters currently applied in practice and may serve as a rapid and sensitive test in the early stage of severe bacterial infections.

In order to develop a combined live vaccine that will be used to prevent against porcine parvovirus (PPV) and Pseudorabies virus (PRV) infection, the VP2 gene of PPV was inserted into the transfer vector plasmid pG to produce the recombinant plasmid pGVP2. The plasmid pGVP2 and the genome of PRV HB98 attenuated vaccine were transfected by using lipofectamine into swine testis cells for the homologous recombination. The recombinant virus rPRV-VP2 was purified by selection of green fluorescence plaques for five cycles. 6-week-old female Kunming mice were immunized intramuscularly with attenuated PRV parent HB98 strain, commercial inactivated vaccine against PPV, recombinant virus, DMEM culture solution. The injections were repeated with an equivalent dose after 2 weeks in all of the groups, and then challenged with the virulent PRV NY strain at 7 weeks after the first immunization. The recombinant virus rPRV-VP2 was successfully generated, and the recombinant virus could effectively elicite anti-PPV and PRV antibody and significant cellular immune response as indicated by anti-PPV ELISA and HI, PRV-neutralizing assay and flow cytometry. The challenge assay indicated that recombinant virus could protect the mice against the virulent PRV challenge. These results demonstrated that the recombinant virus can be a candidate recombinant vaccine strain for the prevention of PRV and PPV.

Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2016;(1):121-124
By organizing literature, summarizing and analyzing the relevant experimental and clinical studies, this article analyzed the study status of the analgesic action of electroacupuncture with different frequencies from the chemical mechanism, neuro- physical mechanism, molecular mechanism, and action mechanism. It brought up that electroacupuncture of different frequencies can activate different regions in the central system and generate different central opioid peptides, excite different receptors and afferent neurons, and different acupuncture manipulations can induce different neural electrical information encoding sequences. This article has provided theoretical evidences for future researches on the mechanism of acupuncture analgesia.
