Objective To explore the effect of recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor(rb-bFGF)combined with boric acid solution on vulval ulcer. Methods 64 patients with vulval ulcer were divided into two groupa randomly.33 patients( group A) with vulval ulcer was treated with rb-bFGF and boric acid solution locally, while the others (group B) accepted ultra-red rays. Before the different treatment above, metronidazole or clotrimasole was put into the vaginae of all the patients, which were given relative medicine according to etiopathogenesis. The two groups were treated continually for two weeks and then were examined. Results The effective rate in group A was significantly higher than that in group B,which was the same result as the ulcer heating time between two groups. Conclusion rb-bGFG combined with boric acid solution is an effective remedy for the treatment of vulval ulcer.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of a schedule of 2 cycles' high-dose dexamethasone (HD-DXM) as an initial therapy in adults immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), and compare with conventional dose prednisone therapy. Method A total of 59 newly diagnosed ITP patients were divided into 2 groups randomly. In 30 patients ( Dexamethasone group), oral HD-DXM was administered at 40 mg/d for 4 consecutive days, repeated one week later, and then failed to maintain. In the remaining 29and then gradually tapered. Results For short-term efficacy, after 1 and 2 weeks of treatment, the response rate in Dexamethasone group was significantly higher than that in Prednisone group (50. 0% vs 24. 1%, P <0. 01; 73.3% vs 55.2%, P <0. 05 ), while 3 weeks later, there was no remarkable difference between the two groups(83.3% vs 68.9%, P > 0. 05 ), though the response rate in Dexamethasone group remained higher. For long-term effect, at the end of the 2nd and 3rd months of follow-up, the relapse rate in Dexamethasone group was significantly lower than that in Prednisone group(24. 0% vs 40. 0%, P < 0. 05;32.0% vs 65. 0%, P < 0. 01 ), while at the end of the 1st month of follow-up, there was no significant difference( 16. 0% vs 20. 0%, P >0.05 ). In addition, it's well tolerated and no complications such as severe infection or Cushing syndrome were complained in Dexamethasone group. Conclusion HD-DXM possesses an advantage over conventional dose prednisone therapy in efficacy and safety.

Objective To investigate the significance of cortactin in primary liver cancer. Methods Fiftythree paraffin embedded primary liver cancer specimens were collected at General Hospital of Air Force of PLA from January 2002 to May 2008. The expression of cortactin was detected by immunohistochemistry, and the relationship between cortactin expression and clinicopathologic parameters was analyzed. All data were analyzed via Wilcoxon rank sum test and Spearman rank correlation analysis. Results There was a significant difference in cortactin expression among tumor capsule integrity, TNM staging, portal vein tumor thrombus and extrahepatic metastasis (u =2. 19, 3. 584, 2. 796, P < 0.05 ). There was a positive correlation between tumor invasion and cortactin expression ( r = 0. 5794, P < 0.05 ). Conclusions Overexpression of cortactin may be one of the factors enhancing the invasion of primary liver cancer. The level of cortactin expression can be used in evaluating the invasive potential of primary liver cancer.

An expression of ras oncogene protein (p21) was assessed with immunohistochemistry in normal, dysplasia, benign hyperplasia, chronic prostatitis and prostatic carcinomatous tissues. The results showed that the positivity rate of p21 was higher in prostatic carcinoma than that in other prostatic lesions and was markedly correlated to histologic tumor grade. The expression level of p21 was more intentive in prostatic dysplasia surrounding carcinoma than that in simple prostatic dysplasia. It is suggested that overexpression of ras oncogene p21 product may play an important role in progressing from dysplasia to cancer and may be used as a new tumor marker for assessment of biological behavior of prostatic carcinoma.

Objective To observe the protective effect of total flavonoids from hawthorn leaf on ligation-induced acute myocardial ischemia in anesthetized dogs. Methods The coronary arteries of anesthetized dogs were ligated to induce the model of acute myocardial ischemia. The indexes including the changes of ST segment in electrocardiogram (∑-ST and N-ST) and the release of LDH and CK were measured after treatment. Meanwhile, the size of myocardial ischemia was observed by TTC staining method. Result Total flavonoids from hawthorn leaf depressed the increase of ∑-ST and N-ST,decreased the release of LDH and CK,and reduced the myocardial ischemic size. Conclusion Total flavonoids from hawthorn leaf has an effect on relieving myocardial ischemia.

Objective To study the effects of exercise on hemodynamic parameters and cardiovascular humoral factors in the elderly patients with hypertension. Methods The modified Bruce assessment (MBA) was employed in an essential hypertension (EH) group (group 1, n =34) composed by elderly EH patients and a control group (group 2, n =31) composed of normal subjects. Heart rate (HR),systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP、DBP), and the quantum and duration of exercise (QE, DE) were explored, while the serum concentrations of nitric oxide (NO), endothelin 1(ET1), atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) and AngiotensinⅡ(AngⅡ) were measured at 3 min before and after treatment. Results There were no significant differences between groups 1 and 2 with regard to HR, SBP, DBP, total DE and peak QE before and after treatment, in addition, at the peak of exercise ( P 0.05). Pretreatment SBP and DBP were significantly and positively correlated with those at the peak of and after treatment ( r =0.648,0.630, P

Object To study the hemolytic effect of total saponins from Ginseng (Gs), Radix Ophiopogonis (ROs) and Shengmaisan, a compound preparation of the two saponins, and the antihemolytic effect of antioxidants on hemolysis. Methods The percentage of hemolysis was indirectly calculated by measured cyanomethemoglobin, and morphological changes of red blood cells (RBCs) was examined by light microscope. Results Gs did not lead to hemolysis while both ROs and Shengmaisan induced lysis in a concentration dependent manner. RBCs deformation can be observed by light microscopic study. The hemolysis was partly inhibited by addition of glucose or antioxidants including mannitol and ?-tocopherol. Conclusion The intensity of hemolytic effect varied with different saponins present in the compound preparation, and may be associated with the type of saponin and partly due to its ability to enhance lipid preoxidation of RBCs membrane.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2015;(10):780-784
As a new neuroimaging method, functional magnetic resonance (fMRI) with its importance of data processing has been widely recognized by neurology and cognitive psychology. Focusing on the realignment section in fMRI image preprocessing, this paper comprehensively describes the registration principle of SPM, an internationally-known software package which is specially designed for cerebral function imaging. An improved registration method is presented which effectively increases the accuracy. In addition, choosing the ratio of SSD and NMI as the registration measure can compensate for the limitation of using single measurement, which improves the robustness and reliability of the registration process. Experimental results prove the feasibility of this method.
