[Objective]To comprehensively compare the feasibility of three different treatment strategies consisting of low-dose chemotherapy(LDC),surgery and surgery with adjuvant low-dose chemotherapy(SLDC)for children with solitary bone lesions of eosinophilic granuloma(SBL-EG).[Methods]We retrospectively reviewed the records of 149 pediatric patients with SBL-EG at our institutions from 2002 to 2014. Our study included 86 patients who received LDC ,33 patients who received surgery and 30 patients who received SLDC. The duration of hospital stay ,time to symptom relief, recovery time, cost, complications and relapse-free sur-vival(RFS)of each strategy were analyzed.[Results]Hospital stay, time to symptom relief, recovery time and cost in the LDC group were significantly shorter or less than those in the surgery or SLDC group (P < 0.05). No statistically significant differences were observed in the above-mentioned factors between the surgery and SLDC groups (P > 0.05). Chemotherapy-related adverse events in the LDC and SLDC groups included nausea(8.62%),aminotransferase elevation(7.76%),slight hair loss(4.31%), immunity decline (21.55%),growth retardation (10.34%) and moon face (7.76%). LDC and SLDC treatment resulted in a significantly longer RFS (147 months and 126 months ,respectively) than surgery alone (114 months)(P = 0.005 and 0.019 , respectively). However ,there was no statistically significant difference in RFS between the LDC and SLDC groups (P = 0.732).[Conclusions]Compared with surgery or SLDC,LDC appears to promote more rapid recovery, less invasion, increase safety and eco-nomic treatment strategy for pediatric patients with SBL-EG.

Objective To discuss the characteristics and clinical results of rotating platform high flexion(RDHF)total knee replacement TKR. Methods A total of 61 patients(78 knees)including 13males(15 knees)and 48 females(63 knees)at age range of45-79 years(mean 64.3 years)were treated with Sigma(RP-HF)rotating platform high flexion total knee replacement.Osteoarthritis was found in 56patients and rheumatoid arthritis in 5.By medial parapatella approach, denervation and facet repair of the patella were done, without replacing them. Results All 78 knees were followed up for 3-16 months (mean 10.5 months).the X-ray film demonstrated no prosthesis loosening, patella dislocation or subluxation.According to the knee society scoring system, the preoperative score was 48 points(33-72 points)and the knee functional score was 41 points(28-63 points)on average. After surgery, the knee score was 97points(88-100 points),the functional score 96 points(84-99 points),and the range of motion(ROM)130.(110.-150.)on average. No spin-out or infection were detected. Conclusions The Sigma RP-HF knee system provides sufficient contact area.full range of patella locus and sufficient axial rotation, which helps reach a stable and durable high flexion performance. Our short-term clinical follow up result is good but the advantages of low wear and longevity of the Sigma RP-HF prosthesis still need further study.

Objective To analyze the clinical and pathological features of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients with hepatic steatosis. Methods Clinical and pathological data of 841 patients with CHB who underwent liver biopsy in Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital during September 2015 to September 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. One hundred and thirty five gender and age-matched pairs of steatosis and non-steatosis patients entered the analysis.Multivariable Logistic regression and rank sum test were used to analyze the clinical features and risk factors of hepatic steatosis in CHB patients .Spearman correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between hepatic steatosis and HBV DNA , hepatic inflammation and fibrosis status. Results Logistic regression analysis showed that overweight /obesity ( χ2 =3.947, OR =1.436, 95%CI 1.005-2.051, P<0.05) and hyperlipidemia (χ2 =4.277,OR=1.803,95%CI 1.031-3.151, P<0.05) were the risk factors for hepatic steatosis in CHB patients. There was no correlation of hepatic steatosis with serum HBeAg and HBV DNA levels (Z=-1.762,r=-0.011, both P>0.05). However, hepatic steatosis was negatively correlated with inflammatory grade and fibrosis grade of the liver (r=-0.146 and -0.192, both P<0.05).Conclusions Overweight/obesity and hyperlipidemia are associated with steatosis in CHB patients.Hepatic steatosis may not aggravate the degree of liver inflammation and fibrosis in CHB patients.

Objective:To prepare the control materials of point-of-care(POC) glucose testing and evaluate their homogeneity, stability and matrix effects. Methods:The high, medium and low concentration control materials were prepared from patient leftover whole blood, which was centrifuged, fixed, washed, filtered, and aliquoted. The homogeneity and stability of the control materials were evaluated according to CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, CNAS) GL29:2010"Reference materials-General and statistical principles for certification". The control materials were used to evaluate the matrix effects in POC glucose detection systems by Deming regression, according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) EP14-A3. Meanwhile, these control materials were used as the internal quality control, and their coefficients of variation ( CV) were calculated. One-way ANOVA and t-Test were used to analyze the results. Results:The homemade materials at three concentrations showed good homogeneity[ F< F0.05(9, 20)]. When the control materials were stored at 2-8 ℃, the stable phases for the opened and closed bottles were 10 days and 15 days, respectively, and there was no statistically significant difference between the results of the first day( P>0.05). The control materials at three concentrations also showed good applicability and there were no matrix effects in 10 POC glucose systems. When the control materials were detected in the internal quality control, the CVs of the high, medium and low concentrations were 0.63%, 0.66% and 1.65%, respectively, which were all below 7.5%. Conclusions:The homemade human control materials of POC glucose testing showed good homogeneity, stability and applicability. They met the requirements of quality control in hospital settings, which provided a good application prospect of the quality management of POC glucose testing.
