Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(06):-
Object To discuss the correlation and difference of physiological and biochemical charaeteristic among the plants of the tribe Areae in genotypes, to provide seientific evidences for the classification and identification of their consanguinity Methods Protein electrophoresis analysis in the fresh tuber of 29 samples from 11 species, 5 varieties, 1 new form of the tribe Areae in Zhejiang Province was done by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis Based on the 49 numerical characters obtained from their electrophoretograms, cluster analysis of the plant was carried out in single linkage method Results The electrophoretograms of the same species were quite similar, but those of the different species were clearly distinct from each other Conclusion 1 The protein electrophoretograms of these plants exhibited certain reliability and stability. 2. The results of protein analysis were accordance with those from the classical taxonomy on the while 3 Pinellia longitubulosa H X Sun should be estabilshed as a new species P peltata Pei var chunarensis H X Sun and Arisaema hunanense Hand. Mazz var ningpoense H X Sun should be considered as new varieties, respectively, their electrophoretograms were obviously different from those of original varieties Arisaema sikokianum Franch et Sav , A sikokianum Franch et Sav var serratum Makino H Li should not be kept as independent varieties, which should be incorporated with A sikokianum var. henryanu.

Objective To discuss treatment effect of ritodrine and ambroxol on acceleration of fetal lung maturation, reduction of asphyxia of premature infants in premature women, and nursing. Methods 218 pregnant woman with premature delivery were divided into the treatment group (110 cases) and the control group ( 108 cases)stochastically. The treatment group adopted ritodrine and ambroxol, the control group adopted routine method. The curative effect was compared between two groups. Results The prolonged pregnancy time, rate of term labor, rate of newborn body weight >2500 g,incidence rate of puerperal infection, rate of neonatal pneumonia in the treatment group were better than those of the control group. Conclusions Appli cation of ritodrine in treating premature delivery proved to be safe and effective. For premature infants < 34 weeks, prenatal use of ambroxol may promote the fetal lung maturity and reducecomplication rate of mothers and infants.

BACKGROUND: The combination of electric acupuncture and clomipramine is the behavior attempt in the integration of Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of obsession.OBJECTIVE: To probe into the long-term therapeutic effects of the combination of acupuncture and medication on obsession and its influence on social functional recovery.DESIGN: Controlled study with observation in which the patients were taken as the objects.SETTING: Wards of a municipal mental hygiene center PARTICIPANTS: The research was performed in the Fifth People's Hospital of Zibo. Totally 30 inpatients were selected from January 1997 to October 2003 in the hospital, aged varied from 18 to 57 years, at the average of (33 ± 12) years. Thirty patients were divided randomly into two groups, named as experimental group, 15 cases with 8 males and 7 females; and the control group, 15 cases with 7 males and 8 females.METHODS: In the experimental group, electric acupuncture was applied on neiguan, renzhong and chengjiang, together with clomipramine orally. In the control group, only clomipramine was applied. The therapeutic effects and side effects were evaluated with Y-Bocs, TESS and clinical evaluation standards successively before the treatment, at the 4th, 6th and 8th weekends after treatment and by 6 months following visits. SDSS evaluation was carried on at the 8th week of the treatment.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparisons of evaluating results with Y-Bocs, TESS and SDSS.RESULTS: At the 4th, 6th and 8th weekends of the treatment, the score-reducing rates of Y-Bocs in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, but the difference was not significant ( P > 0.05). The scores of TESSin the control group were remarkably higher than those in the experimental group( P < 0. 01 ) . Factor scores of "profession and work" in SDSS in the experimental group were lower than that in the control group ( P < 0.05 ).CONCLUSION: Electric acupuncture on neiguan, renzhong and chengjiang reduces the side effect of clomipramine in the treatment of obsession and improve the living quality of the patients with obsession.

Objective To assess the capability of monochromatic energy images of Gemstone spectral imaging(GSI) in reducing artifacts caused by metallic implants. Methods Twelve subjects with metallic implants underwent GSI (Discovery CT750 HD, GE Healthcare, Milwaukee ). The metallic orthopedic implants included 3 patients of dentures, 2 patients of cervical spinal vertebraplasty, one clavicle fracture fixation, one lumbar spinal vertehraplasty, 3 patients of artificial femoral head, one iliac fracture fixation and one tibial fracture fixation. GSI was performed by using a single source ultra-fast dual energy X-ray switching (80 kVp and 140 kVp). Following GSI scanning, thin slice images were reconstructed into 1.25 mm slice thickness. The monochromatic energy images were set to the same window width and level (window width 1500 HU,window level 500 HU). The artifact indexes (AI) at different kiloelectronvolts (keV) images were measured and compared. 3D reconstruction was performed using images with minimal AI. Result The artifacts index on monochromatic energy images varied with the change of keV. Of the images from 12 subjects, the maximal AI ranged between 145-225 at 40 keV, and minimal AI ranged between 15-90 at the 95-140 keV. The artifacts are clearly visible on polychromatic energy images and the artifacts are reduced markedly on the monochromatic energy images with minimal AI. Conclusion The artifacts caused by metallic implants can be reduced significantly by GSI with high keV monochromatic energy images.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect and safety of high intensity focused ultrasotmd(HIFU) for treating the uterine leiomyomata. Methods The patients with uterine leiomyornata who had born children were chosen as the eandidates, The high intensity focused ultrasound tumor therapeutic system was applied to focus the extraeorporeal ultrasound inside the uterine lieomyomata. The real-time two-dimensional ultrasonography was used to guide the location of the focal field and monitor the ablating procedure. The uterus ultrasonography, myomx related signs, syrnptoms were performed for follow-up before and after HIFU treatment. Results Among 65 eases who accepted the HIFU ablation,95% of them showed short-term or long-term effect. 5 % of them showed no effect. Conclusion HIFU is a safe and effective method for the treatment of uterine leiomyomata.
