Objective To explore the effect of treadmill training on expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in rats. Methods 30 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham group, model group and treadmill training group, with 10 rats in each group. The latter 2 groups were modeled with middle cerebral artery occlusion for 2 hours and reperfusion. The treadmill training group underwent treadmill exercise on the 3rd day after modeling for 12 days. Neurological function was evaluated with modified Neurological Severity Scores (mNSS). The neuronal pathological change in ischemic cortex was observed with HE staining. The expressions of GFAP and BDNF in cortex were determined by Western blotting. Results Com-pared with the model group, the mNSS scores decreased in the treadmill training group (F=9.931, P<0.01), the pathological damage in the ischemia cortex significantly lessened, and the expressions of GFAP (t=6.73) and BDNF (t=3.78) increased (P<0.05). Conclusion Treadmill training may increase the expression of GFAP and BDNF after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in rats, and promote the recovery of neurologi-cal function.

Objective To construct integrated service mode of medical care in maternity department and discuss its effect. Methods 160 participants who had been registered and taken periodic inspection in our hospital were divided into two groups: observation group with 80 cases from June to December, 2014 while control group with 80 cases from January to May, 2015. Two groups were offered routine prenatal examination and pregnancy guidance, but observation group was also offered additional integrated service mode (including early pregnant assessment, second-trimester educations, one-to-one late pregnant directives, exchanges during the duration of hospital stay and sustained professional postpartum care). Two groups in mental state, delivery outcome, and pregnancy weight control and satisfaction rate were compared. Results Anxiety and depression score in observation group were (41.89 ± 7.50) points and (42.40 ± 7.40) points, and that in control group were (57.55 ± 9.68) points and (55.00±9.35) points, differences had statistical significance (t=-11.44,-9.42,P<0.05);vaginal delivery cases (48/80) in observation group were higher than control group (33/80) , differences had statistical significance (χ 2=5.63,P < 0.05). Body weight of antepartum and gestation were (67.80 ± 8.18) kg and (12.96 ± 3.44) kg in observation group, and those in control group were (70.98 ± 8.82) kg and (14.28 ± 3.68) kg,differences had statistical significance (t=-2.36,-2.35, P<0.05). Satisfaction rate of observation group was 90.00%(72/80), which was higher than 78.75%(63/80) of control group (U=592.00, P<0.01). Conclusions Integrated service mode of medical care can improve pregnant women′s negative mental state, control pregnancy weight, promote natural labour and enhance satisfaction rate effectively.

AIM: To evaluate myocardial relaxation function changes in an adriamycin-induced cardiomyopathy model using the transmitral flow velocity to mitral annular velocity ratio (E/E'), a strong positive relationship with left ventricular filling pressure and a good indicator for evaluating left ventricular diastolic relaxation abnormality. METHODS: Twenty-eight Japanese rabbits were divided into two groups. Adriamycin was administered at cardiomyopathy model. 8 rabbits served as controls receiving the same amount of saline once a week for a total of 8 weeks. Conventional and tissue Doppler echocardiography (TDE) were performed at baseline, 4th, 6th,8th, 10th and 12th week. RESULTS: In the adriamycin-treated group, LV chamber diameter significantly increased, while ejection fraction and fraction shortening significantly decreased in 10th and 12th week (P ＜0.05). The significant changes were firstly found in 10th week. Mitral annulus systolic peak velocity (S') by TDE significantly decreased in 8th, 10th and 12th week ( P ＜0.05). The significant changes were firstly found in 8th week. The ratio of E/E' significantly increased in 6th,8th, 10th and 12th week (P ＜ 0.05). The significant changes were firstly found in 6th week. In the control group, no significant changes were found in all parameter by tissue Doppler conventional echocardiography (P ＞0.05). CONCLUSION: Myocardial function is reduced in adriamycin-induced rabbit model of dilated cardiomyopathy. The relaxation parameter (E/E') by TDE changes is earlier than contraction indices S' by TDE and conventional echocardiography in adriamycin-induced cardiomyopathy rabbits, which provides a new sensitive and reliable method to evaluate LV relaxation function.

Based on the ambition of students,the stomatological laboratory teaching was set as an independent course and experiment teaching was conducted in stages and modular method.The stomatological laboratory teaching course was separated to four modules: basic oral medicine laboratory teaching module,clinical oral medicine laboratory teaching module,creating experimental teaching training module and professional training module.The experimental teaching is to explore new thinking and new mode for enhancement of students' clinic skill and creating ability.

Objective To reveal the relation between Nesiritide and vascular remodeling,the relation between Nesiritide and the levels of aldosterone.Methods 20 male New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into two groups.All rabbit models were constructed with BC.After injury,the control group were fed with standard forage,the Nesiritide group received standard forage plus subcutaneous Nesiritide[0.1 mg/dissected free from arteria iliaca externa,processed for histological and morphological study by TD 2000 analysis system of pathology image.Data of vascular remodeling and the levels of plasma aldosterone were determined.Results There had significant difference between AUIEM and AUEEM(P ＜ 0.05),markedly significant difference was also found in residual cavity areas and ratios of stenosis(P ＜0.01).There had no significant difference between areas of media(P ＞ 0.05).Aldosterone reduced from the 28th day.Conclusions Nesiritide could benefit vascular remodeling after angioplasty,which might be through reducing aldosterone.

BACKGROUND: Tissue Doppler echocardiography (TDE) has been proved to evaluate general and local function of heart but less reported on adriamycin-induced cardiomyopathy following bone marrow stromal cell (BMS) transplantation.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate myocardial function of an adriamycin-induced cardiomyopathy rabbit model following BMS transplantation using TDE.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized animal control study was performed at Laboratory of Ultrasound, Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from September 2002 to December 2003.MATERIALS: A total of 28 male adult Japanese rabbits weighing (2.0+0.2) kg were used in this study. Adriamycin was used to induce cardiomyopathy model in 20 rabbits.METHODS: Twenty-eight male Japanese rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: cell transplantation group (n=10),PBS group (n=10), and sham operation group (n=8). BMSs were isolated from cell transplantation group at the 8th day. On the 12th week, cells were labeled with 4, 6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI), and then epicardial directly injected into the myocardium of the same rabbits in thoracotomy surgery. Non-cell only culture fluid PBS was injected in PBS group. Sham operation group underwent thoracotomy surgery with the same volume of saline injection.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Left ventricular function was assessed by conventional and tissue Doppler echocardiography before and 4 weeks after surgery. Histological examination including apotisis study and DAPI fluorescent were assessed after sacrificed.from (4.0+1.1) cm/s to (5.3+1.2) cm/s (P ＜ 0.05) around the inject site, but the improvement of global myocardial function was not found by conventional echocardiography. In PBS and sham operation group there were no differences in global and myocardium at 4 weeks after transplantation. Histological findings showed that the injury of the myocardium around the injection site was relieved with less apoptosis.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical value of the pumping and popliteal vein thrombosis contact thrombolytic treatment of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis(LEDVT).MethodsFor thirty deep venous thrombosis patients with ipsilateral popliteal vein approach through a comprehensive intervention,the line of the inferior vena cava filter was implanted under the premise of first balloon mechanical thrombus fragmentation and thrombus aspiration by 10 F improved the inferior vena cava stents conveying sheath,followed by the line of contact thrombolytic therapy.Four patients underwent iliac vein in the thrombolytic treatment of stent implantation.Vein patency and venous patency score and health and poor limb circumference difference were used to assess efficacy of treatment.Patients were followed up for at least 1 year.ResultsThe technical success rate was 100％.At six months after sugery,the mean lower limb circumference difference of the 30 patients was＜ 1.5 cm.Lower limb venous angiography showed significantly improved vein patency score [ (9.5 ± 2.6) vs.(3.6 ± 2.1 ),Z =1.65,P ＜ 0.01 ].Venous patency rate was ( 69.5 ± 13.2) ％.No serious complications during treatment and the period of follow-up.Conclusion Transpopliteal vein interventional treatment of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis is simple,safe and effective.

ObjectiveTo reveal the relation between rhBNP and vascular remodeling,the relation between rhBNP and levels of serum high sensitive C reactive protein (hs-CRP).Methods20 male New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into two groups.All the rabbits were constructed to be models of angioplasty with BC.After injury,the control group were feed with standard forage,the rhBNP group received standard forage plus sibeutaneous rhBNP [0.1mmg/(kg · day),20 days].The rabbits were killed 4weeks after initial injury.The injured segments were dissected free from arteria iliaca externa,processed for histological and morphological study by TD 2000 analysis system of pathology image.The data of vascular remodeling was determined.The levels of hs-CRP were measured at the beginning and the end of the experiment.ResultsThere was significant difference in AUIEM and AUEEM[ (643.2±134.06) μm2 vs (493.7±139.32) μm2 ; (1495.1±204.98)μm2 vs (1265.9±232.56)μm2,P ＜ 0.05 ],extremely significant difference in residual cavity areas and ratios of stenosis[ (519.1±93.47) μm2 vs (308.6±86.50) μm2;(18.68±7.72) μm2 vs (38.04±8.32) μm2,P ＜ 0.01 ].There was no significant difference between the areas of media (P＞ 0.05).rhBNP reduced the levels of hs-CRP on the 28th day.ConclusionsrhBNP can benefit vascular remodeling after angioplasty which might be through its anti -inflammatory action.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of microsurgery for trigeminal neuralgia (TN) in elderly patients.Methods Totally 143 patients with intractable primary TN who received microsurgery were retrospectively analyzed.There were 92 cases in the elderly group with age of 65-82 years,and the other 51 cases in control group with age of 40-62 years.All the patients in both groups were classified as American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Scale Grade 1 to 3.After suboccipital retrosigmoid craniotomy,microvascular decompression (MVD) was performed in 136patients and partial sensory trigeminal rhizotomy in 7 patients.The complications and efficacy were compared between the two groups.Results 87 cases in the elderly group and 49 cases in control group underwent MVD procedure,complete and part pain relief were achieved in 78 cases and 9 cases in the elderly group,45 cases and 4 cases in control group,respectively.After an average follow-up period of 2.6 and 2.1 years,4 cases (5.1％) among 79 follow-up cases and 3 cases (6.5％) among 46follow-up cases experienced TN recurrences in the elderly and control groups,respectively.No statistically significant differences existed in the efficacy and recurrence rate between the two groups (P＞0.05).There were 3 cases with aseptic meningitis,1 cases with hearing decrease,1 case with cerebrospinal fluid leakage,1 case with pulmonary infection and 1 cases with deliration in the elderlygroup,meanwhile,1 cases with aseptic meningitis,1 case with tinnitus and 1 case with cerebrospinal fluid leakage after surgery in control group (P＞0.05).No facial hypoesthesia appeared in the patients receiving MVD.5 cases in the elderly and 2 cases in control group underwent partial trigeminal rhizotomy with facial hypoesthesia,but the pain released,and no recurrence was found.There were no dead cases in both groups.Conclusions With cautious and proper treatment,microsurgical procedure can be performed safely and effectively in the elderly TN.

Objective To evaluate the effect of autologous bone marrow-derived stem cell (MSCs)transplantation in the treatment of decompensated hepatic cirrhosis.Methods Bone marrow was harvested (150-200 ml) from 25 patients with decompensated cirrhosis and hepatic failure.The MSCs were isolated according to the method reported by Wollert and infused into liver via hepatic artery catheter.At different time points after the transplantation,the patients' liver function and prothrombin time(PT) were evaluated,and the survival rate and symptoms of the patients were recorded.Results All the serum biochemical indexes remained stable 2 weeks after the transplantation,and at 4 weeks after transplantation,levels of albumin was increased significantly in comparison with the preoperative level((30.91 ±4.00) g/L vs (26.65 ±5.30) g/L,t =3.07,P ＜0.05).At 12 weeks,the levels of albumin further increased((32.00 ±6.18) g/L vs (26.65 ±5.30) g/L,t =3.02 P ＜ 0.01).While at 12 weeks after operation,there was significant difference on the total bilirubin ((39.94 ± 21.15) mmol/L vs (125.01 ± 150.05) mmol/L; t =2.63,P ＜ 0.05),tolal bile acid ((41.63 ±33.91) μmol/L vs (78.00 ± 59.80) pmol/L;t =2.53,P ＜ 0.05) when compared with the preoperative level.4weeks after operation,the liver enzyme indicators changed significantly when compared with the preoperative level (P ＜0.05).At 12 weeks after operation,there was significant difference on the PT((14.71 ± 1.59) s vs (21.40 ± 6.07) s,t =5.01,P ＜ 0.01) and the level of fibrinogen ((2.64 ± 0.61) g/L vs (1.66 ± 0.94) g/L,t =4.17,P ＜0.01).1 week after the transplantation,90.67％ patients exhibited improved appetite and 88.5％patients showed better physical strength; at 2 weeks,hepatic face improved in 16 cases (63.5％),and spider telangiectasia was significantly reduced in 1 case;at 12 weeks,the survival rate of the patients was 77.44％,and 3 died or gave up treatment due to chronic liver failure complicated by spontaneous bacterial peritonitis,hepatorenal syndrome,or DIC.No complications associated with the transplantation occurred in these patients.Conclusion MSCs transplantation can significantly improve the liver function of patients with decompensated hepatic cirrhosis with good safety and effectiveness,but the indications should be strictly controlled.
