2.Comparison of different management of relaxation incision in infant palatoplasty
Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2011;17(3):194-196
Objective To compare the influence of two different managements of relief incision (exposed relaxation therapy or absorbable hemostatic gauze) in infants' palatoplasty. Methods A total of 118 infants with cleft palate between 5- to 8-month-old for the study were randomly divided into two groups: group A was exposed therapy group, and in group B both sides of relief incision were placed absorbable hemostatic gauze. The wound bleeding, body temperature, diet and incidence of fistula were observed and analyzed after operation. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups in postoperative temperature, diet and wound healing (P>0. 05). The postoperative wound bleeding was statistically significant differences between the two groups (P<0. 05). Conclusions Either exposed therapy or placed absorbable hemostatic gauze in relief incision, has minimal systemic and local reactions in the postoperative infant. The advantages of exposed treatment are economic and simple, and less irritant to the wound.

5.Culture and comparison of the morphology and function of dendritic cells from human peripheral blood monocytes with and without dexamethasone
Chinese Journal of Immunology 1986;0(04):-
Objective:To study the morphology and function of the dendritic cells(DC) from human peripheral blood monocytes and the change in cell differentiation and maturation after DC treated with dexamethasone(Dex-DC).Methods:DCs were sorted from human monocytes by culturing in presence of cytokines(GM-CSF, IL-4) and LPS for 8 days with or without dexamethasone. The change in morphology, function and phenotypic characterization was compared. Results:The cells treated with or without Dex, developed a characteristic dendritic morphology, however, Dex-DC expressed higher level of CD14 and lower level of CD83 than the untreated cells. In addition, a low APC function was demonstrated by Dex-DC.Conclusion:DCs can be induced from peripheral blood monocytes in medium with cytokines; the cultured PS in presence of Dex are shown at a more immature stage, indicating that Dex modulates DC differentiation, maturation, and function.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2015;(3):204-205,210
Objective To analyze the m edical records of poisoned children to provide references for the forensic identification ofmelam ine-tainted milk pow der poisoning. Methods M edical records of six fatal cases of consum ing som e brandmelam ine-tainted milk pow der w ere studied, specifically the poisoning sym ptom s, m edical im aging, blood biochem ical tests, treatm ent and prognosis. Results The m ajor m edical problems of these eight-m onth sick infants w ere urinary tract obstruction caused by urinary tract calculi. The poisoned infants developed oliguria, anuria and other sym ptom s, eventually, acute renal failure or other com plications leaded to death. The serum BUN and Crabnorm ally increased. Conclusion B y con-sidering the toxicological effects of melam ine, it was concluded that the deaths of these sick infants w ere related to themelam ine poisoning.
7.Effects of betahistine on guinea pig model of ischemic inner ear
Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(14):-
Objective To investigate the improving effect of betahistine hydrochloride (BH) on the cochlear blood supply in guinea pig and the potential use in cochlear ischemia. Methods The guinea pig model of ischemic inner ear was established by ferromagnetic embolization of the target microvessels of the cochlea. A total of 10 model guinea pigs were divided into BH group and control group ( n =5 in each group). Guinea pigs in BH group were treated with 0.1% BH through gastric canal, and those in the control group with the identical volume of saline. At 24 h after treatment, the cochlear blood flow (CBF), auditory brainstem responses (ABR), ferromagnetic emboli in the microvessels of cochlear lateral wall, and the hair cell succinic dehydrogenase (SDH) activity were detected. Results CBF in 10 ears in the control group was (50?7)%, and the elevated ABR threshold was found in 7 ears (70%). Ferromagnetic emboli confirmed by carbonyl iron spheres were extensively distributed in the microvessels in the cochlear lateral wall. Spot like lesion of the outer hair cells was found in SDH stained basic membrane. However, in BH group, CBF was (81?11)%. Elevated threshold of ABR was found in only 3 ears, and the ferromagnetic emboli in the microvessles in the cochlear lateral wall were less than those in the control group. Scattered lesions of the outer hair cells were found in SDH stained basic membrane. There was significant difference in the number of deleted hair cells between the BH group and the control group. Conclusion The preliminary results indicated that BH may increase CBF and attenuate the cochlear lesion due to ischemia, resulting in partial protection of hearing.

Journal of China Medical University 2017;46(4):302-305
Objective To investigate the effects and mechanism of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride preconditioning against glutamate-induced neurotoxicity. Methods The model of glutamate-induced neurotoxicity was established by the injection of glutamate into lateral cerebral ventricle.Thirty-six SD rats were randomly divided into control group (C group),glutamate-induced neurotoxicity group (G group),Dex1 group and Dex2 group.Dex1 group and Dex2 group received intraperitoneal injection of dexmedetomidine respectively at a dose of 50 μg/kg or 100 μg/kg before glutamate application. Two hours later, the rats were sacrificed and hippocampus was separated to measure the level of SOD and MDA.The rest of each brain was used to measure the degree of brain edema.Pathological changes were observed under microscope with Nissl's staining. Results In contrast to G group, brain edema and MDA concentration in Dex1 group and Dex2 group were significant lower, while SOD concentrations were significantly increased and the pathological change in Dex1 group and Dex2 group were relieved obviously compared to glutamate-induced neurotoxicity group. Conclusion Dexmedetomidine preconditioning can significantly attenuate glutamate-induced neurotoxicity, which is properly related to the inhibition of oxidative-stress reaction.
