Objective To make up the common X-ray examination methods of the shoulder joint and afford more medical inmormation for the radiologist and clinican. Methods More projection posture and angle were used to obtain more information of the shoulder joint. Results Y posture and outlet posture could afford more anatomy information than the traditional posture. It solved the problem of the overlap of different tissues in traditional X-ray examination. Conclusion Combinating the Y posture, outlet posture and A-P position projection is very important for X-ray examination of disease and injury of the shoulder joint.

Objective To establish bladder reflex arc with sensory afferent pathway using SD rats,and evaluate its effect in the treatment of atonic bladder after spinal cord injury.Methods Twenty-four male SD rats were used in the study.For each rat,the right side was the experimental side,and the left side was the control side.In the right side,the L5 ventral root (VR) was anastomosed to S2 VR,and the distal end of S2 dorsal root (DR) was anastomosed to the proximal end of L5 peripheral process of dorsal ganglion.In the left side,no treatment was done.In order to evaluate the validity of the bladder reflex arc,general observation,neuro-electrophysiological test and wheat germ agglutinin horseradish peroxidase (WGA-HRP) method were used before and after the spinal cord destruction between L6 and S2 level at 3 months postoperatively.Results Twenty-one rats survived 3 months after the operation,and anastomotic nerves were separated successfully only in seven rats.Compound action potentials (CAPs) of plexus vesica and compound muscle action potentials (CMAPs) of bladder smooth muscle were found by electrical stimulation in distal end of the anastomotic stoma of the right S2 DR.There was no statistically significant difference in action potential before and after paraplegia.No action potential was detected in control sides after paraplegia.The curves of CAPs and CMAPs in the right side were similar to those in the control side,and the mean maximum amplitude reached respectively 71.9％ and 82.4％ of those in the left side before paraplegia.In addition,WGAHRP labeled cells were observed in L5 anterior horn and posterior horn in the experimental side after WGAHRP injection.Conclusion Reconstruction of bladder reflex arc with sensory afferent pathway can promote axonal regeneration of motor and sensory nerves,and then the regenerated axon could contact with cells in anterior and posterior horn of spinal cord through parasympathetic nerves,ultimately the capability of axoplasmic transportation could be reestablished.Therefore,this method can be used for treating atonic bladder.

Objective To evaluate left atrial function serial change after circumferential pulmonary vein ablation(CPVA)for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation using tissue Doppler echocardiography.Methods One hundred and eight patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation underwent CPVA guided by CARTO.Tissue Doppler imaging and conventional echocardiography were underwent 48 h before CPVA,48 h,1 month,3 month and 6 month after CPVA.Results One hundred and six patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation finished CPVA successfully.Compared tO 48 h pre-CPVA,left atrial diameter and volume decreased 48 h,1 month,3 month,6 month after CPVA,significant change were found at 3 month,6 month after CPVA(P＜0.05).Left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD).left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),mitral flow E revealed no significant change(P＞0.05).Mitral flow A decreased significantly 48 h after CPVA(P＜0.05),restored significantly after 3 month.Tissue Doppler parameter S'and E'revealed no significant change(P＞0.05)through the period,A'decreased significantly 48 h after CPVA(P＜0.05),restored significantlv after 1 month.Conclusions Left atrial diameter and volume decreased after CPVA.Left atrial active contraction function decreased shortly after CPVA(LA stunning),and restored progressively.

Prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT), plasma fibrino-gen (FIB), platelet aggregation rate and blood clots-fibrinolytic dynamic figure were taken as indexes in the evalua-tion of anticoagulant activity in vivo of active component F2-2 from Eupolyphaga seu Steleophaga. After 5 days of hypodermic injection of adrenaline, the rat model of acute blood stasis was established. Indexes were determined af-ter the model rats were treated with an intragastric administration of F2-2 for 9 days. The results showed that com-pared with the model group, PT/APTT was prolonged, FIB content was decreased, platelet aggregation rate and the largest of blood coagulation were declined after 9 days of intragastric administration in the model group. However, there was no difference on TT. It was concluded that the anticoagulant component F2-2 separated from E. seu Steleophaga showed favorable anticoagulant activity in vivo. However, its mechanism remained unknown and request-ed further researches.

Objective To investigate the FH/Wjd rat model of alcoholic liver disease.Methods Thirty-six 16-18 week old SPF grade FH/Wjd rats (male:female=1:1) were used in this study.The rats were divided into two groups randomly by body weight:water intake group and alcohol intake group.The rats took water or alcohol freely.16 weeks lat-er, ALT, AST, TBIL, TG, CHO in the serum and TG, GSH in the liver homogenate were detected.The expression of PPARαprotein in the liver tissue was detected by Western blot.The apoptosis rate of liver cells was assessed by flow cy-tometry.The pathological changes of liver tissue were examined using HE staining.Results Compared with the water in-take group, the serum TBIL and TG were significantly increased in rats of both sexes of the alcohol intake group, moreover, ALT and CHO of the female rats in the alcohol intake group were significantly decreased.TG in the liver homogenate in-creased obviously, while GSH in the liver homogenate showed a decreasing tendency.Hepatocyte apoptosis in rats of both sexes in the alcohol intake group showed an increasing tendency.The PPARαprotein expression was up-regulated obvious-ly, and the main pathological change in the liver tissue was microvesicular fatty degeneration.Conclusion Spontaneous long-term alcohol intake can induce liver injuries in FH/Wjd rats.

Objective:To seek the possibility of using internally installed curved mandibular distractor to repair the partial mandibular curved defect.Methods:A curved mandibular defect was sectioned in each of 3 adult dogs.The distractor designed by our own group based on the steel ball conducted force was implanted.After 7 days of latency,the distraction was performed at the rate of 0.5 mm × 2 times per day,followed by 3 months consolidation period.The osteogenesis was evaluated by general observation,X-ray examination and HE staining.Results:No complication was observed after operation and during distraction.The new bone healed well into a curved shape.The X-ray examination revealed that the transport disc moved along with the predesigned rail curve.HE staining clearly showed neo bone formulation zone between the mature trabecular and connective tissue.Conclusion:The internal distractor based on the steel ball conducted force can realize the curved distraction osteogenesis of posteriormandibular.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and adverse effects of thalidomide plus melphalan and VAD regimen in the treatment of multiple myeloma(MM). Methods 24 patients in the treatment group were treated with thalidomide plus melphalan and VAD regimen. Two continuous treatment were considered valuable. Observational content included results of serum myeloma protein; liver and renal function; protein-uria of 24-hours; bone marrow and peripheral blood and soon. The side reactions were recorded. The clinical efficacy evaluation was divided into complete response(CR), partial respouse(PR), none response(NR). Results 13 cases in the treatment group achieved CR, 6 cases achieved PR, 5 cases no change, 19 cases achieved overall response. Conclusion The prominent clinical efficacy was achieved with thalidomide plus melphalan and VAD regimen in multiple myeloma. The clinical manifestation was improved significantly.

Objective To investigate the association between left ventricular hypertrophy and peritoneal transport properties in Peritoneal Dialysis patients.Methods Sixty-nine Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)patients were enrolled in current study.All patients underwent echocardiography for left ventricular mass index (LVMI).Transport status was categorized as high transport,high average transport,low average transport and low transport based on modified peritoneal equilibration test (PET).The data collected included hemoglobin,albumin,blood urea nitrogen,creatinine,urea clearance (Kt/V) and creatinine clearance rate (Ccr),dialysis vintage,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure.Results Patients with high transport status were 41 cases,more than those with low transport status(28 cases).The dialysis age of high transport,high average transport,low average transport and low transport vintage were (39.2 ± 21.8),(26.6 ±15.6),(28.6 ± 14.4),(45.7 ± 35.0) years old respectively,and the difference was significant (F =4.128,P ＜ 0.05).The dialysis age in the higher transport group was longer than that in high average transport group and low average transport group (P ＜ 0.05).LVMI has significant positive correlations with D/Pcr at 4th hour,SBP and DBP (r =0.339,0.351,0.316,P ＜ 0.01) and the negative correlation with albmin (r =-0.292,P ＜0.05).Left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH) in all patients was 63.8％,ant it was higher in high transport group than that low average transport and low transport group (x2 =5.455,5.091,P ＜ 0.05) Conclusion High transport status is the most common in CAPD patients.There is high incident rate of LVH in this population.LVH has significant positive correlations with D/Pcr,higher SBP,DBP,and lower albumin.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of three yin points acupuncture plus medicinal spreading moxibustion in treating erectile dysfunction.Methods Sixty patients with erectile dysfunction meeting the inclusion criteria were randomly allocated to two groups, 30 cases each. The control group took sildenafil at 1 hr before sexual intercourse. The treatment group received three yin points acupuncture plus medicinal spreading moxibustion, 8 days as one course of treatment, for three consecutive courses with 2 days of rest between the courses. The erectile function was scored in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared.Results The total efficacy rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and 80.0% in the control group; there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The marked efficacy rate was 83.3% in the treatmentn group and 60.0% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). in the treatment group, there was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in the erectile function score after 20 days of treatment (P<0.05) and statistically a very significant pre-/post-treatment difference in the erectile function score after 30 days of treatment (P<0.01). In the control group, the overall therapeutic effect was stable after treatment and there was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in the erectile function score (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant post-treatment difference in the erectile function score between the treatment and control groups (P>0.05).Conclusions Both acupuncture-moxibustion and sildenafil have a therapeutic effect on erectiledysfunction. Sildenafil produces a rapid and stable effect. Acupuncture and moxibustion produce a slower effect but have an advantage in the marked efficacy rate. Acupuncture and moxibustion are safe, of fewer contraindications and suitable for most of the population.

Aim To study the regulatory effects of PMA,a PKC activator,on Kir 2.3 channel function expressed in Xenopus oocytes and COS-7 cells,and PIP2 involvement in these regulations.Methods Kir 2.3 channel was expressed in Xenopus oocytes and COS-7 cell by RNA microinjection and DNA transfection using calcium phosphate precipitate,respectively.Two-electrode-voltage-clamp and whole-cell patch clamp were used to record the Kir 2.3 current in Xenopus oocytes and COS-7 cell.The PIP2 hydrolysis was detected by confocal microscopy.Results PMA significantly inhibited Kir 2.3 current in Xenopus oocytes.But PMA had no effect on the Kir 2.3 current expressed in COS-7 cell,in which activation of M1 receptor,however,induced a significant inhibition of Kir 2.3 current.It was reported recently that PMA could trigger the PIP2 hydrolysis in membrane of oocytes.Thus PKC inhibition of Kir 2.3 current seen in oocytes could be the result of PIP2 hydrolysis.Following the same line,the inability of PKC inhibition of Kir 2.3 current seen in COS-7 cells would suggest PKC could not induce PIP2 hydrolysis in these cells. This hypothesis was tested by monitoring the PIP2 level in COS-7 cell membrane by confocal microscopy.Dynamic changes in membrane PIP2 level were imaged using GFP fluorescence signal that had been tagged to the PLC?1PH domain known to be able to bind PIP2 specifically. There was no significant change of PIP2 level on COS-7 cell membrane after longtime treatment of PMA,whereas again,the activation of M1 receptor by ACh induced a significant change in the PIP2 level.These results were in perfect agreement with the electrophysiological results.Conclusions PMA,through activation of PKC,inhibited Kir 2.3 current expressed in Xenopus oocytes but not in COS-7 cells.Similarly PMA induced significant reduction in membrane PIP2 level in Xenopus oocytes but not in COS-7 cells. PIP2 hydrolysis plays an important role in PKC-induced inhibition of the Kir channel currents.
