1.Reconstruction of soft tissue defects using thumb homodigital flap
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2002;0(01):-
Objective To explore effective methods of repairing injured thumb soft tissue with thumb homodigital flap. Methods Three types of thumb homodigital flap, Hueston flap, Moberg flap and the dorsoulnar artery flap of the thumb (Brunelli flap), were used to repair 10 cases of thumb soft tissue defects. Results All flaps survived completely without any partial loss. The appearance was satisfactory. The length of injured thumb was reserved and the sensation recovered in some patients. Conclusion This operation technique seems to be a relatively simple way of covering the exposed bone without additional bony shortening of the thumb and achieving early recovery of the sensation of the thumb. When there are multiple digital injuries, it is the first choice in reconstruction of thumb defects.
2.Asymmetric Z flap in double-eyelid blepharoplasty of epicanthal folds
Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2002;0(02):-
Objective To discuss the possibility of plastic and cosmetic operation incorporating epicanthoplasty with the double-lid procedure in one stage. Methods When planning the double-lid procedure, the correction of epicanthal folds and creating double-lid were operated using asymmetric Z flap at medial canthal area in one-stage procedure. The appearance of large-opened eyes was produced by lengthening the palpebral fissure. Results From Feb. of 2004 to Feb. of 2005, all 30 eyes (15 cases) were operated and satisfactory aesthetic results were obtained. In the follow-up periods the results were good. Conclusion This is a simple and effective operation procedure with good results that can be widely used.

Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2009;15(4):240-241
Objective To explore the possibility of repairing face rhombus defect after resection of pathological tissues on the special regions. Methods After rhombus resection of a pathological tissues on the special regions of the face, using four triangular flaps at the any sides of the defect to stagger suturing each other and to constitute peculiar "M" flap repairing defect in 26 patients (12 males and 14 females). Results The flaps were all survived. No straight line scars were seen at the repairing regions and no scars contraction for the face contour was occurred. Conclusion This is a simple and effective operation procedure that can be used for rhombus defect of the special regions of the face.

Objective To investigate the awareness of knowledge about stroke rehabilitation in medical professionals in Gansu. Methods 520 professionals of neurology, neurosurgery, and others from 10 hospitals of different level were investigated with questionnaire. Results The awareness of the knowledge about stroke rehabilitation was different with the gender (χ2=17.50), education levels (χ2=66.35), professional levels (χ2=16.81), specialities (χ2=124.39) and duties (χ2=29.99) of the professionals (P<0.05). Conclusion It is necessary to improve the education of rehabilitation in hospitals.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2012;18(9):840-842
Objective To investigate the knowledge of stroke risk factors, early symptoms, and rehabilitation in stroke patients. Methods 1043 cases with stroke were stratified randomly sampled from 10 hospitals at different levels in Gansu, and were surveyed with self-designed questionnaire. Results For risk factors for stroke, hypertension was the most aware (61.55%), 6.42% knew all the factors. For the prevention and treatment, reasonable diet was the most aware (56.18%), followed with giving up smoking and drinking (52.92%). For the early symptoms, dysaesthesia of one side body was the most aware (53.88%), and then the headache and dizzy (50.14%). It was less than 30% to know the blurring, nausea and vomiting, and stiff tongue, etc. as the early symptoms. 60% of the patients did not know any about the rehabilitation, 22% did not know if rehabilitation be needed. 80% of the patients with stroke chose medication regardless of family income, and rehabilitation was chosen less than 30%. Conclusion It is important to popularize the knowledge of risk factors, early symptoms, and rehabilitation of stroke.

ObjectiveTo compare the regulatory effects of five plant polysaccharides on immune function of cyclophosphamide (CTX)-induced immunosuppressed mice by network Meta-analysis, to provide evidence for the clinical application of polysaccharides and the development of effective polysaccharides and oligosaccharides. MethodSeven databases including PubMed, Embase and Web of Science were searched, and studies that met the inclusion criteria were selected. The methodological quality of the included studies was evaluated using the risk of bias tool of Systematic Review Centre for Laboratory Animal Experimentation (SYRCLE), and the data were analyzed using RStudio and StataSE 17. ResultA total of 62 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included, involving 1 512 mice and five plant polysaccharides: Astragalus polysaccharide (APS), lentinan (LNT), Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharide (GLP), Poria cocos polysaccharide (PCC), and Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharide (CPP). The network Meta-analysis showed that APS ranked first in increasing spleen index (mean deviation (MD)=3.54, 95% confidence interval (CI) [2.10, 5.96]), thymus index (MD=1.98, 95%CI [1.55, 2.54]) and T helper cells (CD4+)/T suppressor cells (CD8+) (MD=1.63, 95%CI [1.13, 2.37]), while CPP ranked first in up-regulating the number of peripheral blood leukocytes (MD=24.16, 95%CI [8.21, 71.12]), macrophage phagocytosis index (MD=2.52, 95%CI [1.32, 4.82]) and immunoglobulin M (IgM) content (MD=1.79, 95%CI [1.12, 2.85]). ConclusionAll the five plant polysaccharides can regulate the immune function of immunosuppressed mice. Among them, APS has advantages in elevating spleen index, thymus index and CD4+/CD8+, while CPP focuses on increasing the number of peripheral blood leukocytes, macrophage phagocytosis index and IgM content. Due to limited number and quality of included studies, the conclusions needs to be further verified with large samples and high-quality studies.
