Objective To understand the awareness of early symptoms of stroke patients in Gansu. Methods 1100 stroke patients in neurology and neurosurgery departments in 10 hospitals of different levels in Gansu in 2010 were surveyed by questionnaire. Results The awareness rate of early symptoms of stroke was generally low in all age groups. Conclusion Stroke patients were lack of awareness of early symptoms in Gansu, we should step up publicity efforts to enable more patients to receive early treatment and reduce morbidity and mortality.

Objective To investigate the awareness of knowledge about stroke rehabilitation in medical professionals in Gansu. Methods 520 professionals of neurology, neurosurgery, and others from 10 hospitals of different level were investigated with questionnaire. Results The awareness of the knowledge about stroke rehabilitation was different with the gender (χ2=17.50), education levels (χ2=66.35), professional levels (χ2=16.81), specialities (χ2=124.39) and duties (χ2=29.99) of the professionals (P<0.05). Conclusion It is necessary to improve the education of rehabilitation in hospitals.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2013;19(3):276-279
Objective To investigate awareness of relatives about knowledge of rehabilitation for stroke. Methods 1082 relatives of patients with stroke from 10 hospitals in Gansu were investigated with self-designed questionnaire. Results A total of 1082 questionnaires were returned. The relatives knew some about the stroke rehabilitation. Their awareness of stroke rehabilitation were different with the ages, educated levels, and occupations (P<0.05). Conclusion It is necessary to improve the health education for relatives of stroke patients individually about post-stroke rehabilitation.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2012;18(7):652-654
Objective To investigate the awareness of the negative emotions on the physical rehabilitation and psychological treatment of family members of stroke patients in Gansu. Methods 1100 stroke patients from 10 hospitals of different levels in Gansu were surveyed. Results Family members who thought negative emotions can affect the recovery of limb function accounted for 77.17%, and who thought psychological treatment was needed accounted for 83.46%. Conclusion Family members of stroke patients think that negative emotions affect the recovery of limb function and psychological treatment is needed.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2012;18(9):840-842
Objective To investigate the knowledge of stroke risk factors, early symptoms, and rehabilitation in stroke patients. Methods 1043 cases with stroke were stratified randomly sampled from 10 hospitals at different levels in Gansu, and were surveyed with self-designed questionnaire. Results For risk factors for stroke, hypertension was the most aware (61.55%), 6.42% knew all the factors. For the prevention and treatment, reasonable diet was the most aware (56.18%), followed with giving up smoking and drinking (52.92%). For the early symptoms, dysaesthesia of one side body was the most aware (53.88%), and then the headache and dizzy (50.14%). It was less than 30% to know the blurring, nausea and vomiting, and stiff tongue, etc. as the early symptoms. 60% of the patients did not know any about the rehabilitation, 22% did not know if rehabilitation be needed. 80% of the patients with stroke chose medication regardless of family income, and rehabilitation was chosen less than 30%. Conclusion It is important to popularize the knowledge of risk factors, early symptoms, and rehabilitation of stroke.

Journal of China Medical University 2024;53(3):230-234
Objective To compare the effects of laparoscopic surgery with various approaches on intestinal barrier function, red blood cell immunity, and prognosis in patients with right hemicolectomized colon cancer. Methods A prospective selection of 110 patients with right hemicolectomized colon cancer admitted to our hospital from April 2019 to April 2021 was conducted.Patients were divided into groups A(n= 55)and B(n= 55)using a simple randomization method.During the treatment period, two cases of loss of follow-up occurred in Group A and three in Group B.Finally,53 from Group A and 52 participants from Group B completed the study. Both groups underwent laparoscopic surgery.Group A underwent a cephalic approach, whereas Group B underwent an intermediate approach. The periopera-tive indexes, complications, prognosis, intestinal barrier function(endotoxin,D-lactic acid, and diamine oxidase),red blood cell immune complex rate(RBC-ICR),RBC-C3b receptor rosette rate(RBC-C3bRR),and erythrocyte adhesion to tumor cell rosette rate(TRR)of the two groups were determinedd. Results Group A had less intraoperative bleeding, shorter central lymph node dissection time, shorter operative time, and lower complication rate(P<0.05)than Group B.Endotoxin, diamine oxidase, and D-lactate levels in both groups were higher 3 d after surgery than before surgery(P<0.05).Three days after surgery, the RBC-ICR of both groups was higher than before surgery, whereas the TRR and RBC-C3bRR were lower than before surgery(P<0.05).After 1 year of follow-up,no statistically sig-nificant difference in distant metastasis, local recurrence, and survival rates were observed between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The two approaches used in this study have similar effects in right hemicolectomized colon cancer. The cephalic approach for laparoscopic sur-gery shortened the surgical time and reduced complications.
