1.Research on Emotional Status and Activity and Participation for Inpatients with Spinal Cord Injury

Objective To analyze the relationship between the status of anxiety and depression and activity and participation for inpa-tients with spinal cord injury (SCI). Methods From January, 2014 to June, 2016, a total of 37 inpatients with SCI were assessed by Zung Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Zung Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), and WHO Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHO-DAS 2.0) at discharge. Results The average scores of SDA were (0.5±0.18) and SAS were (41.15±14.7) respectively. The inpatients scored (1.43± 0.82) (cognition), (3.06±1.43) (mobility), (2.47±1.11) (self-care), (2.13±0.66) (getting around), (3.68±1.32) (life activity for household and work), and (3.57±0.84) (participation) in six domains of WHO-DAS 2.0 respectively. There were severe disabilities in mobility, life activity for household and work, and participation;mild disability in cognition;and moderate disabilities in self-care and getting around. There was positive correlation between depression and functions of mobility, life activity for household and work, and participation (P<0.05). Conclu-sion Depression influences the status of activity and participation for inpatients with SCI at recovery stage.
2.Effects of Tonifying Kidney-Yin on the Activities of Embryonic Stem Cell

Objective To study the effects of tonifying kidney-yin on activities of embryo stem cell. Methods Embryonic stem cell line CRL-1825 was choosed as model cell in present study, and tonifying kidney-yin herb serum was added to CRL-1825 cell. The influence of tonifying kidney-yin on stem cell differentiation, cell cycle, apotosis and express of key genes were observed. Results Tonifying kidney-yin can inhibit stem cell differentiation and apotosis, promote stem cell proliferation and progression of cell cycle. In addition, tonifying kidney-yin can up-regulate Wnt, Oct4 gene expression, and down-regulation P16INK4a expression. Conclusions Tonifying kidney-yin can promote stem cell proliferation and maintain the state of stem cell.
3.Application of solution focused approach in nursing of patients with ad-vanced schistosomiasis

Objective To investigate the effect of nursing with solution focused approach in advanced schistosomiasis pa?tients. Methods Fifty three patients with advanced schistosomiasis in the Liujiahu Hospital for Schistosomiasis Control of Yiyang City were randomized selected and separated into an intervention group and a control group. The patients of the interven?tion group received the conventional nursing plus solution focused approach,while the patients of the control group received on?ly the conventional nursing. The effectiveness of nursing and treatment was evaluated in the two groups comparatively. Results The knowledge of self?care skills,medical compliance behaviors and services satisfaction degree in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group(c2=3.78,2.87,4.09 respectively,all P<0.05). The occurrence rate of upper gastroin?testinal bleeding in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group(c2=4.894,P<0.05). The aver?age hospitalization duration of the intervention group was shorter than that of the control group(t=4.17,P<0.05). Conclu?sions The solution focused approach is a feasible and effective method in course of nursing of advanced schistosomiasis pa?tients. It enhances the confidence of the patients and the trustiness of the patients to the health care providers. The complications and the hospitalization duration of the patients are reduced.
4.The research on the immuno-modulatory abilities of myelodysplastic syndromes patients bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells

Objective To investigate that whether the immuno-modulatory capacity is intact in myelodysplastic syndrome-refractory anemia (MDS-RA) derived mesenchymal stem cell (MSCs) and what are the differences compare with those from normal donors.Methods Isolating MSC from MDS and normal donors respectively and exam their differences on T lymphocyte activation,proliferation and suppression.Results The results showed that the capacity of suppressing T cell proliferation and activation is weakened.Conclusion We propose that MSCs from pathological environment might be abnormal and should not be used for autologous transplantation.

Objective To study the activity and participation status of patients with spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury. Methods From 2013 to 2016, 60 patients with spinal cord injury and 38 patients with traumatic brain injury were assessed with WHO Disability As-sessment Schedule 2.0 (WHO-DAS 2.0) (International Chinese Version of fully structured interviewer administered 36 questions). Results The patients with traumatic brain injury had moderate dysfunction in domains of cognition and getting along with people, and severe dys-function in other domains. The patients with spinal cord injury had mild dysfunction in domain of cognition, moderate dysfunction in do-mains of self-care and getting along with people, and severe dysfunction in other domains. The dysfunction was severer in domains of cogni-tion and self-care in the patients with traumatic brain injury than in the patients with spinal cord injury (t>2.140, P<0.05). Conclusion The inpatients with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury are difficult in mobility, self-care, getting along with people, life activities and participation.
8.Therapeutic Observation of Lao Shi Jiu plus Chinese Medication for Gastritis Due to Deficient Cold in Spleen-stomach

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Lao Shi Jiu (moxibustion at a group of ten acupoints) plus Wu Zhu Xiang Sha Liu Jun decoction in treating chronic gastritis due to deficient cold in spleen-stomach. Method Ninety patients with chronic gastritis due to deficient cold in spleen-stomach were randomized into a moxibustion-medication group and a Western medication group by using the random number table, 45 cases each. The moxibustion-medication group was intervened by Lao Shi Jiu plus Wu Zhu Xiang Sha Liu Jun decoction, while the Western medication group was prescribed with conventional medications. The clinical efficacy and changes in symptoms were observed after the intervention. Result The total effective rates were respectively 88.9% and 75.6% in the moxibustion-medication group and Western medication group, and the rate in the moxibustion-medication group was significantly higher than that in the Western medication group (P<0.05); the gastroscopy-based total effective rates were respectively 91.1% and 77.8% in the moxibustion-medication group and Western medication group, indicating that the moxibustion-medication group was superior to the Western medication group (P<0.05); the improvement of stomachache in the moxibustion-medication group was more significant than that in the Western medication group (P<0.05). Conclusion The moxibustion-medication group is superior to the Western medication group in comparing the clinical efficacy and improvement of symptoms in treating chronic gastritis due to deficient cold in spleen-stomach.
9.Inhibitory effect of salinomycin on growth of human bladder cancer 5637 cells

Objective To explore the influence of salinomycin in the growth, apoptosis and invasion of human bladder cancer 5637 cells,and to clarify its possible mechanism.Methods The human bladder cancer 5637 cells cultured invitro at logarithmic growth phase were divided into control group and different doses of salinomycin(15, 30 and 60μmol·L-1 )groups.The inhibitory rate of the growth of 5637 cells in various groups was measured by MTT assay. Flow cytometry was used to detect the apoptotic rates of 5637 cells in various groups. The invasiveness of 5637 cells was tested by Matrigel Invasion Assay.The expression levels ofβ-catenin protein in 5637 cells in various groups were determined by Western blotting method. Results Compared with control group,the inhibitory rates of growth of human bladder cancer 5637 cells in different doses of salinomycin groups were increased significantly(P<0.05);the apoptotic rates were increased(P<0.05).the number of cells passed the Matrigel was decreased(P<0.05),and the expression level ofβ-catenin protein was decreased (P<0.05).Compared with low dose of salinomycin group,the inhibitory rate of growth of 5637 cells in high dose of salinomycin group was increased(P<0.05);the apoptotic rate was increased(P<0.05),the number of cells passed the Matrigel was decreased (P < 0.05 ), and the expression levels of β-catenin protein was decreased (P<0.05). Conclusion Salinomycin can inhibit the growth of 5637 cells significantly,increase the apoptosis,and decrease the cell invasion;the inhibitory effect may act by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.

Curcumin is the main active component in turmeric, which possesses many pharmacologic effects, including anti-in-flammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-atherosclerosis, liver and kidney protection and so on. However, due to its poor bioavail-ability, its clinical application is limited. Therefore, the methods for improving the bioavailability of curcumin were reviewed by refer-ring to a large number of literatures. The bioavailability of curcumin can be improved by different administration routes and various dos-age forms. The review provides theoretical basis and research ideas for the development of new drugs.
