Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2010;45(4):467-70
The in vitro antitumor activity of bakuchiol was exploited, compared with tamoxifen. The result of biological activities showed that bakuchiol could inhibit human breast cancer and the IC50 values were 2.89 x 10(-5) mol L(-1) and 8.29 x 10(-3) mol L(-1) against the cells line T-47D and MDA-MB-231 respectively. On the other hand, the key intermediate to synthesize bakuchiol was obtained by the method of Ireland-Claisen rearrangement. Comparing with traditional Claisen rearrangement, the reaction conditions are milder and the reaction reagents are safer.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect and security of spraying Zhikang Capsules guided by gastroscopy in treatment elderly upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Methods Eighty-four elderly gastric duodenal ulcer bleeding patients were randomly assigned to group A,B and C (n =28 for each group).Patients in group A were used noradrenalin to spray with gastroscopy,in group B were used thrombin and in group C were used Zhikang Capsules. The total effective, the immediate homeostasis rate, the incidence of rebleeding, the emergency operation rate and the incidence of adverse reaction were recorded and analyzed. Results Total effective rate of group C was 96.4% (27/28),significantly higher than that in group A (71.4%,20/28),B (75.0%,21/28) and the difference was significant(P<0.05).The incidence of rebleeding in group A,B,C were 28.6% (8/28),17.9% (6/28),3.6% (1/28) respectively, and the difference was significant (P <0.05).The same trend was seen regarding of the incidence of adverse reaction among three groups (25.0%,7/28;10.7%,3/28;0,0/28;P<0.05).Conclusion Spraying Zhikang Capsules guided by gastroscopy is showed with good therapeutic effect in treating elderly upper gastrointestinal bleeding and high safety, and with less adverse reaction.

Objective To explore the effects and relationship of tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP) and hypoxia in transient ischemia-like attack (TIA-like) in Kunming mice. Methods Fifty-six mice were randomly divided into normal saline group (group A), t-BHP group (group B), t-BHP plus hypoxia group (group C) and model group (group D). Fourteen mice in group D were injected t-BHP (0.11 mol/L, 10 ml/kg) through tail vein with an interval of 24 hrs to induce TIA-like attack. The average time of TIA-like was ( 3.7? 1.1) days, and this time was used as experimental evidence to collect blood sample in other groups. Hemorheological indexes before TIA-like attack were observed in different experimental conditions. Results Compared with group A, the whole blood viscosity at shear rate 100S-1, 1S-1 and Fibrinogen were significantly increased in group B and group C (all P

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2013;48(1):25-31
The steroidal enzyme cytochrome P45017alpha catalyzes the conversion of progesterone and pregnenolone into androgens, androstenedione and dehydroepiandrosterone, respectively, the direct precursors of estrogens and testosterone. Dihydrotestosterone is the principal active androgen in the prostate, testosterone is also an active stimulant of the growth of prostatic cancer tissue. Inhibition of this enzyme as a mechanism for inhibiting androgen biosynthesis could be a worthwhile therapeutic strategy for the treatment of PCA. In this paper, four categories of steroidal inhibitors of cytochrome P45017alpha will be reviewed, a diverse range of steroidal inhibitors had been synthesized and shown to be potent inhibitors of P45017alpha.

Objective To evaluate the effects and possibility of nitroglycerin on Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) treatment Methods In comparision with the third trimester normal pregnant women (Normal group) (n=11), 34 moderate/severe PIH cases were divided into three groups: PIH treated only with magnesium sulfate (Mg group) (n=11); PIH treated only with nitroglycerin (Ng group) (n=11); and PIH treated with Mg+ Ng (Combination group) (n=12). The endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) in placenta was investigatd immunohistochemiscally and quantitatively. Data such as platelet aggregation (PAg), umbilcal artery of S/D ratio and resistance index (RI) with color Doppler and the effect of decrement of blood pressure on PHI groups were evaluated. Results In comparision with Normal group, (1) the quantity of eNOS of PIH cases was signaficently lower (P

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2006;26(5):531-3
The effects of Trichostatin A (TSA) on histone deacetylase 8 (HDAC8) expression, proliferation and cell cycle arrest in T-lymphoblastic leukemia cell line Molt-4 cells in vitro were investigated. The effect of TSA on the growth of Molt-4 cells was studied by MTT assay. Flow cytometry was used to examine the cell cycle. The expression of HDAC8 was detected by using immunocytochemistry and Western blot. The results showed that proliferation of Molt-4 cells was inhibited in TSA-treated group in a time- and dose-dependent manner. The IC50 of TSA exposures for 24 h and 36 h were 254.3236 and 199.257 microg/L respectively. The cell cycle analysis revealed that Molt-4 was mostly in G0/G1 phase, and after treatment with TSA from 50 to 400 microg/L for 24 h, the percents of G0/G1 cells were decreased and cells were arrested in G2/M phase. Treatment of TSA for 24 h could significantly inhibit the expression of HDAC8 protein in Molt-4 cells (P<0.01). It was concluded that TSA could decrease the expression of HDAC8 in Molt-4 cells, which contributed to the inhibition of proliferation and induction of cell cycle arrest in Molt-4 cells.
