1.Progress of gastric cancer and coagulation function
International Journal of Surgery 2016;43(1):70-72
The gastric cancer is closely related to the coagulation function. On the one hand, gastric cancer result in changes of coagulation mechanism such as blood coagulation, anticoagulation and fibrinolysis coagulation, which further result in hypercoagulable state and thrombosis related diseases. On the other hand, the abnormal of the coagulation function aggravate the progress of stomach cancer, and affect the prognosis of patients seriously. We review the domestic and international studies on the relationships between gastric cancer and coagulation function, and clinical doctors should pay attention to the abnormal of coagulation function and anticoagulaion treatment on gastric cancer.
2.Evaluation of endometrial cancer risk in patients with preoperative diagnosis of endometrial atypical hyperplasia
Journal of Endocrine Surgery 2013;7(6):494-497
Objective To examine the frequency of coexisting endometrial carcinoma with preoperative diagnosis of endometrial atypical hyperplasia (EAH).Methods From Apr 2002 to Apr 2007,61 consecutive patients diagnosed as EAH who underwent total hysterectomy in our department were retrospectively analyzed.Patients were stratified as 44 premenopausal cases and 17 menopausal cases. The patients were divided into 2 groups depending on whether or not cancer cells were found by histology in removed uterus (cancer group vs EAH group) to explore valuable predictive risk factors for concomitant endometrial carcinoma through reviewing the clinical data.Logistic regression analysis and logistic regression equation are used to evaluate the risk of coexisting endometrial carcinoma with preoperative diagnosis of endometrial atypical hyperplasia. Results Endometrial thickness and the type of EAH were selected into the equation in premenopausal cases, showing statistically significant differences(P < 0.001) and the overall accuracy was 86.4%.Menopausal years and the type of EAH were selected into the equation in menopausal women, also showing statistically significant differences (P < 0.04)and the overall accuracy was 82.4%.Conclusions Endometrial thickness and the type of EAH are valuable in predicting the risk of endometrial carcinoma in premenopausal women.Menopausal years and the type of EIN are valuable in prediciting the risk of coexistance with endometrial carcinoma in menopausal women.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2012;47(6):822-6
Cinobufacini is an aqueous extract of Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor dried skin, which has been widely used for cancer therapy in China. So far, its active components are still not very clear. In previous reports, bufadienolides with low-concentration were usually studied because of their anticancer effects. However, the high polarity constituents in cinobufacini are less investigated. The present study found that more than 50% contents of cinobufacini were water-soluble peptides. Then, in vitro anticancer experiments were carried out, including human stomach cancer cell lines BGC823 and MCG803, human colon cancer cell lines DLD-1 and HT-29, and human pancreatic cancer cell line MIAPACA-2. The IC50 for these cell lines model were ranged from 25-123 microgmL(-1). The results indicated that these peptides showed similar activity with cinobufacini injection. As a conclusion, this study provides a new and further understanding of anticancer components in cinobufacini injection.

Objective To assess the effects of zinc protoporphyrin (ZnPP), an inhibitor of the heme oxygenase (HO), on the colonic interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) of diabetic rats with colonic slow transit. Methods Diabetes mellitus (DM) model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ) in Sprague-Dawley rats. Twenty four successfully established DM rats were selected, and 16 healthy rats were served as controls. Six weeks later, gastrointestional (GI) dysfunction was observed by charcoal propulsion experiment in 8 DM rats and 8 controls. The rest rats in DM group were divided into 2 groups: DM rats intraperitoneal injected with PBS (n=8) or with 10 μmol/kg of ZnPP (n = 8) every other day for 3 weeks. The rats in control group (n = 8) were intraperitoneally injected with PBS. The levels of HO and c-kit (the special receptor of ICC) expression were detected by Western blotting. The distribution of ICC was observed by immunohistochemistry and the area of c-kit positive cells was counted. Results The GI propulsion rate in DM rats interfered with PBS was significantly declined compared to that in the controls (63.0%± 1.2% vs 71.8%±2.0%, P<0.05). But it was improved in DM rats interfered with ZnPP (72.5± 2.6%, P<0.05), which showed no significant differentee with that in control group (P>0.05). The expression of HO-1 in close and distant colon of DM rats interfered with ZnPP was decreased (P< 0.05). The expression of HO-2 in close colon and the area of c-kit positive cells of DM rats interfered with PBS was reduced compared with that in controls (P<0.05), but both were improved in DM rats interfered with ZnPP (P<0. 05). Conclusion Administration of ZnPP might be able to protect ICC by its blockage of HO-1 in DM rats with gastrointestinal dysfunction.

Objective To examine the effects of carbon dioxide (CO2) pneumoperitoneum on local pancreas pathological changes, serum levels of amylase,IL-1,IL-6,and the positive rate of dissolubility adhesion molecule (CD11a/CD18 and CD11b/CD18) expression in rats with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Methods Fifty healthy male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:CO2 pneumoperitoneum group (n=20):SAP was induced by injecting 5% sodium taurocholate through retrogradely common biliopancreatic ducts via duodenal papilla, and then CO2 pneumoperitoneum was established at a pressure of 12 mm Hg (1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa) for 30 min; SAP group (n=20):The rats were treated as same as CO2 pneumoperitoneum group, except CO2 pneumoperitoneum; Simple operation group (n=10):Laparotomy was performed and nothing was done to duodenum and pancreas except for moving them softly. The blood samples were collected for examining serum levels of amylase,IL-1,IL-6,and the positive rates of CD11a/CD18 and CD11b/CD18 expression, and histopathologic examination of pancreas was performed. Results Compared with simple operation group, the pancreatic pathologic histology score, serum levels of amylase,IL-1,IL-6,and the positive rates of CD11a/CD18 and CD11b/CD18 expression were significantly higher in CO2 pneumoperitoneum group and SAP group (P=0.000). The levels of IL-1 and IL-6 were significantly lower in CO2 pneumoperitoneum group as compared to SAP group (P=0.000). There was no significant difference between CO2 pneumoperitoneum group and SAP group in pancreatic pathologic histology score (P=0.294),the level of serum amylase (P=0.073),the positive rates of CD11a/CD18 (P=0.155) and CD11b/CD18 expression (P=0.201). Conclusion CO2 pneumoperitoneum has inhibitory effect on the levels of IL-1 and IL-6,rather than the positive rates of CD11a/CD18 and CD11b/CD18 expression in SD rats with SAP.
