Objective: To observe the changes of endothelial-dependent vasodilatation and cyclophilin A (CyPA) expression at different phases of atherosclerosis in experimental rats. Methods: A total of 30 male Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups: Control group, the rats received normal diet, and 3 atherosclerosis groups, the rats received high cholesterol diet for different period of time and a single dose intraperitoneal injection of Vitamin D3 at 600,000 IU/kg, as Atherosclerosis at 8 weeks (AS 8W) group, AS 12W group and AS 15W group, n=8 in each AS group. The rats were sacriifced at the same time to isolate aorta abdominalis. The expression of CyPA at the wall of aorta abdominalis was detected by HE staining and immunohistochemistry. In addition, the aorta abdominalises was cut into 5 mm rings to observe its response to acethylcholine in exvivo organ bath. Results: With prolonged modeling time, the rats at different groups presented normal vessel structure, endothelial cell damage, vessel smooth muscle cell proliferation, atherosclerosis plaque formation and calciifed plaque formation for differentpathological characteristics. The endothelial-dependent vasodilatation was decreased and the maximum vasodilatation percentage in Control group, AS 8W group, AS 12W group and AS 15W group were at (93.46 ± 2.80) %, (82.58 ± 3.25) %, (61.19 ± 3.72)% and (41.28 ± 2.68)% respectively,P<0.05 between each group. The CyPA expression in endothelial cell and vessel smooth muscle cell were increased accordingly in 4 groups by OD value as (0.25 ± 0.06), (0.34 ± 0.09), (0.53 ± 0.09) and (0.68 ± 0.13) respectively,P<0.05 between each group. Conclusion: The CyPA expression increased and the endothelial-dependent vasodilatation decreased with the progress of atherosclerosis accordingly in experimental rats. The expression level of CyPA is related to atherosclerosis degree and it is one of the initial factors for atherosclerosis in rats.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1957;0(04):-
Fifty two adult male rats were selected for the investigation the adrenergic and cholinergic innervation of rat heart by means of histochemical demonstration of catecholamine fluorescence and acetylcholinesterase (ACHE). Consecutive method was employed on the same section to demonstration the relation between the distribution of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves in various parts of rat heart, e. g. atrium, ventricular myocardium, valves, epicardium, endocardium, atrioventricular node and coronary arteries. Adrenergic and cholinergic terminals innervated all parts dually. By comparing the photographs demonstrating the fluorescence CA and AChE on the same section treated by the consecutive method, we found that the location, the density and morphology of both types of nerve terminals were more like. In other words, under light microscopy the localization of both terminals can hardly be distinguished from each other. Such kind of morphological relation may strongly support the results of interaction between sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems in physiological and pharmacological experiments of heart. In the cardiac ganglia there are some small intense fluorescence ceils (SIF-cells) lying besides the postganglionic cholinergic cells of the parasympathetic nervous system. Both kinds of cells were shown in close contact with each other in the same section with consecutive method. This morphological relation provided an evidence that catecholamine containing SIF-cells may control and regulate the neurotransmission of parasympathetic cholinergic neurons.

Objective To evaluate a somatostaitn analogue (Octreotide) in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods In this study 62 HCC patients were divided into therapy group (30 cases) and control group (32 cases) based on patients' own will. Patients in treatment group were assigned to receive an average dosage of 339.43±165.53 mg of octreotide. Treatment results and patients' life quality were evaluated on 3rd and 6th month. Result (1) The average live time of the treatment group was (12.89±6.21) months much longer than that of the control group (5.36±6.36) months (P < 0.05). The 6 month, 12 month survival rate of treatment group (73.3% ,50.0% ) was better than that of the control group(40.6% ,9.37% ) (χ2 =4.02 ,χ2 =9.67,all P <0.05). (2) Appetite was improved in 21 patients, body weight increased in 12 patients. Debility ameliorated in 17 patients in therapy group. (3) Tumor grew larger in 8 cases in control group on the sixth month based on liver CT and 6 of them had extrahepatic metastasis. While in therapy group tumor size decreased in 6 cases; did not change in 9 cases; 3 grew larger, and 1 had extrahepatic metastasis. (4) As for side-effects of octreotide therapy, 6 patients had diarrhea at the beginning, as the treatments continued, the symptoms disappeared within one month. Conclusion Octreotide prolongs the surviving time of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, increases the 6 and 12 months survival rate, causing mild side-effects, and improves the life quality of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.

National traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) master professor Ban Xiuwen had rich experiences on treatment of gynecological diseases with unique insights on diagnosis and treatment for disorders of menstruation, leukorrhea, pregnancy and delivery. FemaleYin-Wei, which was a gynecological disorder, was recorded in the book ofHuang-Di Nei-Jing. However, due to different reasons, TCM study on femaleYin-Wei was far less than the study on male impotence. ProfessorBan Xiuwen had specific considerations for this disease on the book of Treatment of Miscellaneous Gynecological Diseases. In his understanding, femaleYin-Wei was due to four aspects, which were the innate deficiency, yang deficiency and coldness of the uterus; seven emotion damage, liver-qi soothing disorder; spleen-stomach deficiency,qi-blood deficiency; and phlegm-dampness stasis,qi stagnation. Through the analysis and study on case records of femaleYin-Wei treatment by national TCM master professorBan Xiuwen, this article briefly elaborated professorBan Xiuwen’s understandings on femaleYin-Wei treatment from etiology, pathogenesis, treatment according to syndrome differentiation, and clinical experiences. Two femaleYin-Wei cases treated by professorBan Xiuwen were given as examples in order to analyze the etiology, pathogenesis, treatment according to syndrome differentiation and treatment experiences in details. The therapeutic effects of both cases were obvious, which were also important study documents.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2016;32(4):312-314
Diabetes insipidus ( DI) could lead to urinary tract dilatation, even renal dysfunction. This study compared clinical features of DI with or without urinary tract dilatation. The results showed that the former had earlier onset age, more male patients, longer duration, and higher serum creatinine, as well as lower urine osmotic pressure and urine specific gravity after injection of vasopressin. But only disease duration was the independent risk factor (OR=1. 248). More nephrogenic DI and more hereditary DI were with urinary tract dilatation compared with central DI or acquired DI.
